The pack in game is NBA 2k19 (last year's game) which is worthless, though. But it is an actual microsoft controller and not some crap.

now, if i started downloading a game using Game Pass and then decided to buy it, will it know i own the version now, so if i install it will go into my storage and not back to GP? and the base game would be same if i downloaded with GP or bought a GoY edition, like i don't have to open GoY edition to play the one i downloaded from GP is the same, correct? talking about Witcher 3. had credit so got for free anyway, but might be nice to have all DLC if i truly like it, even though bunch already included. so the GoY will just add the expansion packs? and is this game primarily single player right? no companions or hordes you have to control?

This worked out especially well if you traded in an X for $225. It cost $25 to "upgrade" to a new warranty and get an additional controller. This was a no brainer for me as one of my X's had wifi issues. I actually did this twice and used a $50 rewards cert for each.

Make sure you check the warranty of your new Xbox. These bundles are old and most people seem to be reporting warranties that are already expired or about to expire (I have no idea how or why the warranty period started already, that seems ridiculous)

The way I understand it, Game Pass just acts as a license barrier granting you access. If they remove that barrier and you own the disc (as long as its in the drive) or digital copy, it will act the same way. The versions are the same. In the case of your Witcher GOTY package I believe the DLC is on discs so you will need that in the drive unless they were nice enough to give the DLC as part of game pass too. It's also nice if you own the game in physical form and don't want to mess it up so to speak. I haven't had to keep the disc in the drive for months now on Monster Hunter World because its been on Game Pass.

The Witcher 3 on Game Pass does not include the 2 expansions, although you can download the 16 free DLC.

Witcher 3 GOTY is treated like a completely separate game by Xbox. In terms of experience, it's the same as if you had the base game and bought the 2 expansions and downloaded the 16 free DLC. However, game saves don't transfer over, and achievements are completely separate. You can play the Game Pass base game, then play the GOTY edition, and basically score the same achievements twice.

So if you play the Game Pass version, and then insert your GOTY disc, the disc will install a completely separate instance of the game that you'll have to start over in.

If you're on the fence about opening the GOTY disc, you could use the Game Pass version as a demo of sorts. But if you like the game, you may want to switch over to the GOTY disc sooner rather than later, unless you like repeating gameplay.

BTW, the GOTY edition is on sale digitally for $15.00 for XBLG/Game Pass members for 4 more hours.

Umm... yes? I fired it up to show my son how the OGs used to game online... it was a tire fire. Graphics are total crap, gameplay is boring and we only fought bots. I can't recommend your hard drive containing any part of this game.

I know kind of what an achievement means in playing an Xbox game (doing other completing certain things, etc.), but what do the #’s mean and the icons and percentage of gamers unlocked mean?
Like I got one for Borderlands 3, for finishing Moxxi DLC. It says “5.96% of gamers unlocked this.” Giving me a diamond symbol, I believe, a white circle with G in middle and then the number 90. What does all that mean anyway? Thanks.

Diamonds are for rare Achievements (ones that few players have unlocked)
Points are an arbitrary value so that all the Achievements in a game will add up to 1000 Gamer Score (not counting DLC).

now, i just booted up B3 and got some very bad stuttering when i went to shoot some enemies. sometimes when there is a whole mess of them it may stutter for a 1/2 second if that, but this was noticeably worse and constant. just stop for 2 seconds or so and then start back up. i quit game, went into another game with frenetic action and it was fine. went back into B3 and same thing.
should i uninstall and reinstall? would that work? checked internet and everything fine. if i do uninstall and reinstall, i won't lose anything right and go back to exact point i left off? thanks...

For the games you have to install through your mobile app, you just have to start installing the game, you don't need to finish the installation.

To change your notification settings, press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Preferences > Notifications. You can choose what to do with individual Xbox and app notifications (or turn all notifications off), adjust the duration of pop-up notifications, and more.
