Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017
Gotta agree to disagree. I kept trying to navigate to a Home Page in the store and just kept exiting the Store. When I tried to find Games with Gold I kept coming to a page that described the benefits of Gold without ever finding the games. It's very weird, as I have been a Gold member every day since the inception of the program. It shouldn't be this difficult for me to find.
I will try to add GwG to the Home page, but I have to find it first. Have found the store way more confusing than it's ever been.

You're making it more difficult than it has to be. You shouldn't be going to the microsoft store *at all* for Games with Gold.
1. On your home page scroll all the way down to the bottom where it says Add More. Click See All Suggestions.
2. Click the right bumper once on the next screen to go to From Xbox.
3. Click on Games With Gold to add a pin to your home page.
You now have a Games with Gold pin on your home page. When you click on that tile it takes you to the three games available to download. And also shows a preview video for the next month's games (if they've been announced yet).
You can also do the same with Game Pass and it gives you a dedicated tile to Game Pass where you can search all the game pass games or just go to recently downloaded, ect. You can also rearrange what order the tiles show up on your homepage by using the select button or whatever it's called to move them up or down just like you can to organize your games.

I mean it's such a mess I can't imagine it doesn't hurt their sale numbers. On the PS4 Store, I can see right away the featured games and sales and scroll right to them. On the Xbox it is a chore to even find the new games and the sales. The Game Pass stuff is prominent and easy to find, but almost everything seems hidden to the point of having to navigate to the magnifying glass and search for the individual title. Browsing is extremely difficult to do.

What is the deal with the Xbox Interface in general? It feels like it gets more convoluted and less clear with every iteration.

Whomever's idea it was to put the search/sort(? going off memory here) buttons 2/3rds of the way down the screen between all the content tiles should be fired. That's just "first year design student" awful.

Could someone please tell me, if i have update console, apps, games automatically checked, why i would have to go into updates screen and manually update some games (not all mind you, just some)? Thanks in advance.

can anyone help me out with this? I looked everywhere online. Nothing of value. I’m still getting games that are waiting to be installed manually, but I have auto update games, apps and console. Already did one factory reset to fix another problem. Thx.

Wait, are there games you have to manually update, or manually install? 360 games will not automatically install onto an XB1 if you purchase them on the website.

yes, only games. i go to the update section and there might be two games that i have to manually update. not install, like yesterday Destiny 2 was waiting for me to push the button to install update. install full games goes on auto either remotely (from PC or phone), but updates to some games i have to manually install. i don't understand why when the box is ticked...

Do both of you have games you haven't played in the last 30 days?

Earlier this year Microsoft changed the way automatic updates work.
Now only games you have played within the last 30 days will automatically update.
All other games have to be manually updated.

I just tried that preload thing for games you don't own and it works for Squadrons. I am getting disc version today but I wanted it loaded. Worked just fine. You just need Xbox beta app.

For some reason I thought it would only work on the Series X, so I didn't even try. Cool.

I didn't use my Xbox for just over a month while I was out of town. When I got back and turned it on there were 9 things automatically update/install, and another 20 or so I manually added
It was downloading stuff all weekend.
Has anyone ever gotten the Pause/Resume/Install Now to really work? I had everything in the queue, then Paused all, then selected one specific thing to 'install now', but it kept installing what appeared to be in a random order. I just left it on whilst I did other stuff.

@Xbox: The Mandalor is not a race, it's a creed and well, it's also now a controller.

Re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017
It certainly looks cool but according to this article it's priced at £169.99 which converts to $220. That's for an Xbox One controller, not the new Series X. Also it doesn't look to have rubber grips. So you basic run of the mill XBO launch controller with a fancy paint job.
Seems like a huge miscalculation on their part. Price it at $100 and despite being a last gen controller, would probably fly off shelves. $220 (if correct) is just asinine for a non-Elite controller.

The link says 169.99 US:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/Ma..._10.26.3&rtc=1
which is basically just screwing EU on price conversion but they've been doing that for a while (look how much next gen games cost there).
If it's limited enough, it'll sell.
