I just went with the digital version. I don't trust the mail anymore.

Ok so I ordered the digital version from the PS store. It downloaded a small update file and is currently downloading the game, but it's only 5.94 GB. I think the full game is around 45 GB? How does this process work? I'm fairly new to this generation

That live action trailer was great, but I won't buy another one of these without reviews and a month wait.

It downloads in the background if you go to the game and press the options button, and click on information you will see it downloading the full game. I just leave it in rest mode and it will continue downloading.

Unless you have the reported issues with rest mode... then don't.

Of course, I get up this morning and my PS4 is locked up. Unplugged it, but luckily when it rebooted the full game was there.

A friend just texted me saying that if you pre-order the game for in-store pick-up at BB it will be available tonight at 9pm PST.
EDIT - I guess Gamestop is doing something similar.

Going to Best Buy to get this at midnight. I'm still not sure why I'm doing that, but yeah.

A buddy of mine ordered the digital version and said he would change his location (he's in Cali) so he can start playing at 9pm instead of midnight. Doubt that will work

As per Activision, the game is going to be unlocked at 12AM EST. With your friend being in California, the digital copy will be unlocked right at 9PM PST without having to change regions.

What's with the review embargo? I mean, I understand not having a review a few days before release, but not even on the night before release?

I debated this weekend on whether or not to pre-order this hoping for an improvement to go along with the 10 dollar Best Buy pre-order. However, with no reviews it just doesn't make sense for me to go through the hassle. I'm hoping that this one is a step in the right direction after the last game.

Sounds like the embargo lifts tonight? Probably midnight.

Got a new file update and the 11 PM moved to midnight. Oh well, I'm off work tomorrow anyway

The real jewel in Advanced Warfare's crown however is the gunplay. Many of the development teams associated with the franchise have often talked about getting back to the 'gun-on-gun' appeal that made the series' name, moving away from over-the-top rolling killstreaks and other shenanigans to put the focus on your skill with the weapon in your hand. Sledgehammer has absolutely nailed it in this regard.
Previous entries sometimes made it feel like you were firing a potato gun, but here the feedback from firing your weapon – and hitting your opponent – is phenomenally good, helped immensely by the reworked gun audio, which really makes it feel like you're shooting something other than a Nerf gun. Crucially, time-to-kill ratios seem fair – there are a few instances where you may think you shot someone about 40,000 times before they killed you, but on the whole one-on-one's are superb. It's hideously addictive, backed up by lizard-brain satisfying audio cues when you win encounters, and the game's desire to force you to be good with your primary can easily pull players into flow states.
It's certainly the best Team Deathmatch Call of Duty game in years, easily besting Ghosts and Black Ops 2.

Was happy to read this part:

Well, that was one of the strangest "Midnight" launches I've ever been to. I was surprised by the big line -- didn't think that many people were that excited about it still. Anyway, as I mentioned before, I traded in a 360 copy just to get a coupon for a $10 discount on this game. I also used some soon-to-expire RZ certificates. When they rang everything up, for some reason the $10 discount wasn't reflected (natch). I asked what happened to the discount and could they just ring me up again. They said they couldn't without voiding the RZ certificates and that they would just do a price adjustment. I was a little worried about voiding the $10 pre-order credit I'd be getting at the back end, but they just said it wouldn't be affected. I told her I wanted $10.80 back to reflect the difference of the coupon including the tax paid - she said okay. Then it got weird : The manager did something on the register and handed me $32 cash! I said that was too much, but she said that was the price adjustment. I saw the big line behind me with folks getting pissed that i was holding up the line. i just shrugged "okay" and left.
Not sure whether I still get my $10 Reward Zone certificate for pre-ordering or not - but even if I don't, just figuring the fact that I bought a 360 copy of Ghosts for $4 (From GameFly, using an about-to-expire $5 off coupon) and traded it in for $11 during the upgrade promotion, this game ended up costing me $12 total (though I actually paid -$8 since I used $20 in RZ certificates). If the RZ comes through it ends up totaling $2.
