Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I finally picked this up from Target's Cyber Monday sale.

They had the game at $39.99 with an additional 15% off when added to your cart. I also had some rewards to use via the Circle App.

Can't wait to dig into this.

I bought this for the multi to play with 3 of my friends, but I'm loving the story (yes I realize that sounds backwards). Recently got to Act 2 while also trying to do all the extra stuff.

My choice for Game of the Year....it was almost flawless in story..which has some twists and that's all I'm saying...which is really, really good and we almost see Ghost 2 coming. The setting and time period is just a stunner and beyond anything I've seen. The combat was as fluid and smooth and just plain fun no matter stealth or frontal attack. Characters wer engaging with all their own stories and Jin...well he's become my favorite character to ever play. I played the whole game in Japanese Language giving it a good old Samurai Feel and Sound....

Totally agree on all counts. I had not even really heard of this, but got it when I got my PS5 and it's awesome. I love it in Japanese with English subtitles, and I'm enjoying everything about the game so far. It's a real masterpiece.

I assume those who just got the game do have access to...Legends....right now. It has no bearing on the story and SP though you will have access....depending on what skill rewards you get at the end of the missions...to what is used in the game. Well worth it and a blast to play co-op with one other doing three levels of more stealth in areas or playing with three others that's in a town with rotating mobile defense. More games should add something like this...like AC Games; are you listening Ubisoft?

I will say it’s really weird to see the Legends Storyteller pop up across the map of the main game. To me there’s no point in having an option to jump into Legends randomly from story mode.

^ Yeah, I was roaming about doing missions and a new icon popped up so I did a fast travel only to find out it was Legends. Easy enough to avoid, but I don't need MP content mucking up my single player game.

ya, that was quite annoying because it added a bunch of new ? on the map, that I had to check out.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I was able to tack on another 12-13 hours onto my play time over the past few days.

Still enjoying the game as well as how awesome my Armor & Weapons look at the moment

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

Finished the game this afternoon. Put in about 25-26 hours.

I'll probably go back and finish up a few more of the Mythic Tales as well as level up a bunch of skills.

Outside some minor nitpicks near the end of the game, this was a wonderful experience and well-worth the $35 I paid for it.

I'm about 50 hours in and the end is nowhere in sight. You must have skipped a shit ton of side missions. I'm too much of a completionist I guess, trying to unlock everything and up Jin's skills as far as I can before tracking back to the main story.

Even being nowhere near the amount of hours that you have put in, I still had Jin massively upgraded by the end of the Main Story.

The Sakai Katana & Sakai Tanto were at max, as was one of the best Armor Sets in the game. Also fully maxed out the Samurai & Stance Skill Trees.

On top of that, I only had one more spot on the Evolving Tactics Skill Tree to purchase. Where I have to finish is more of the Ally Side Quests, 2 more Mythic Tales, Ghost Weapon Skill Tree and more liberating of areas.

It's definitely about being a completionist because you can be absolutely overpowered long before you hit 50 hours and a decent amount of the skills you purchase, you don't see consistent use of.

This is how I played for the most part....completing each "Map" before moving on...basically opening it all up. I Platinum the Game and collected everything...though I knew of others who just concentrated on the Story some side stuff and in no time flat was at the end. I wanted to take my time and enjoy this game because from the moment the Invasion started and Jin's Escape I knew the game was going to be special....

Not sure where you are 50 hours in.....but I will say in the 2nd area the pace, story, enemies everything picks up with far more to do. It's no-where being overwhelming like AC Odyssey that to me had Too Much.....and if anything I spent a great deal of time just walking and riding around looking at the sight and having some peaceful moments which visual wise this game is absolute stunning....and and amazing change of landscape from the three maps.....

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I did all the side quests and liberation in Act I, but I had to find out what happens in Act II so I only did like 6 side quests there and focused on the story. Will get through those when I’m “allowed back”.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I 100% the first "island" before moving on. Lots of trial and error and redoing Mongol camps because I got overwhelmed or a prisoner was murdered. The second island is breezing along as I'm pretty powerful and don't generally have to redo areas. It also seems like the fetch quests (Haiku, Fox Dens, etc) are clustered closer together and aren't spread so far apart. Or I'll set a waypoint to a location and there's a random Mongol Flag in a field right on my path to said location.

This may be more of a general PS question but I last played on PS5 the other night. My save game booted up fine and I played for a few hours making progress. I've since been quarantined to my bedroom and decided to boot up GoT on my PS4 in here. It will not recognize or load my current progress. It only sees the progress I made on the PS4 (about 4 hours worth of gameplay out the window) from before Thanksgiving. I booted it back up on the PS5 and everything was where it should be. So I manually saved the game and went into the OS to save that file to the cloud and proceed to download that save to the PS4 from the cloud. It's still a 'no-go.' PS4 will only boot the PS4 save. Do PS5 saves not work on PS4?

I don't want to mess with it much more at this point in fear of losing progress. I might give that method another shot though and see what happens.

Stealthily take your PS5 into the bedroom with you like a thief in the night. You could be even more sneaky and replace it with the PS4. Nobody will even notice. Good luck, Ghost.

That crossed my mind, but my daughter is loving Bugsnax. She rarely gets on the consoles without me instigating it, but I've found her getting on that one when I'm not around.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

The GoT save on your PS5 is still a PS4 game save. It's not a PS5 game so the save, which gets auto-uploaded to the Cloud via PS Plus, is a PS4 game save and can be downloaded from the cloud onto a PS4. Functionally it's just another PS4 for games that don't have a second PS5 version (like Watch Dogs Legions, AC Valhalla, Miles Morales, Borderlands 3, Manhunter).
As long as you have a PS Plus membership that is.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

You're right. On the PS5, I had to go into the PS4 data to manually save it to the cloud. The game just won't load that file for some reason on the PS4.

I finished a certain mission in Act III but I have a question
Spoiler:
I was in exile, but now I’m not. What is the story reason I’m allowed to travel to the other regions again? The Uncle/Shogun are still pissed at me right?

Finished up the last 2 Mythic Tales leftover from my first playthrough.

I have about 8 points worth of Ghost Weapon Techniques left to purchase and then I've unlocked everything you can skill-wise.

I think it involved getting your "Friends"...since you only have "One"...and yes they still are...for the the moment...

Boom. I know everyone is on the edge of their seat, but I solved the save game issue. I ended up just deleting all the save data off the PS4 and redownloading the only the most current save from the PS5 from the cloud. Worked perfectly.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I finished this up today after about 17 hours, I didn't do hardly any side quests and just wanted to get though the story. It as super well done and I loved the writing. The last fight was so frustrating though but overall I loved the game.
