Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

Just wrapped everything up in the DLC. Really enjoyable stuff. I got all the trophies in the DLC except one which for some dumb reason requires you to have played through the Legends Mode to unlock the mission. And I have zero interest in that mode so I'm fine with missing one.

^ Same. From what it looks like though it's 9 level co-op thing and not a MP vs thing. I could be wrong on that though.

I'm probably half way...I've played the Legends Mode both 2 Player and 4 Player...which Mode or how far do you need to go? I haven't done Nightmare yet.....other than that Legends is actually pretty fun. The 2 Player Mode is and can be challenging....4 Player is longer doing 15 waves but it can get frantic and with Four Ninja's/ Samurai it's a Slice Fest....

Not sure what you're asking. To get one of the missions in the Iki Island DLC you have to have played through the Legends Mode. I have zero interest in the Legends mode so I am fine not getting that mission.

Ok...I didn't know if it actually told you how far or what part of The Legends mode since it's like a progression system; like reaching this and that Level. Does it actually pop up saying...Must Complete Legends Mode....?

No when I was googling to see how to get the last trophy I hadn't unlocked it mentions it. Common Courtesy trophy requires you to complete all the "Hidden Tales" in Iki Island. I had already completed the first 5 but the 6th hidden tale doesn't open up until you have completed all the story missions in Legends mode.

DLC seemed substantial enough to me, I’m satisfied with the story. I skipped all the archery challenges but I read there’s some charm to help, and auto-aim.

You only need to get bronze on them to have them count as completed so that's easy. To get the gold times it pretty much requires you have the special armor equipped with the arrow perks and charms related to arrows.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

Started the Iki expansion today. Enemies are tougher as they can change weapons, so you have to change your stance more often to beat them. Shamans are just a minor annoyance (so far) but at least they add some variety.
Overall I'm liking it.
A Bit if a tangent, but I absolutely hate when there are trophies tied to multiplayer modes (like Legends mode). I did the Legends tutorial, and that was enough for me. Zero intent to continue in that mode and I hate that the single player campaign mode is filled with Legends markers all over the map, too. Very poor aesthetic decision there.

I got bronze & silver on my first playthrough without much trouble. Just doing that increases your concentration time quite a bit. Gold, however, is impossible without gear or charms.

Tadayori's Armor - Leveling up helps, but I managed at level 1 or 2.
Charm of Concentration - increasing your concentration time
Charm of Efficiency - increases nocking speed

Turn on Aim assist and one other setting I'm forgetting.

By the end I was clearing Gold in under 4 seconds.

something else on these enemies...they'll keep after you until you kill them. Fist time I came upon a pack, another was close by...they stayed after me until I killed them all and it was a long way from when I first encounter them. Not alot of tall grass to hide anywhere or sneak for assassinations....I've used Ghost Weapons more than ever...

Thanks for tips and I checked a video to see it done but I went back to the four I did and got Gold on all. Took a bit to get use to to at first and had trouble with the one with the tall rock and has two near the top; I simply couldn't see them clearly.

The Iyo part of Legends is some of the best multiplayer I’ve played in years- provided you have three consistent people to play with, and all four of you are each character class. It’s a blast.

I agree...but I haven't played it in awhile even while playing the new DLC. It did come out as a Stand-Alone recently but haven't seen details, feedback or how it's been received and done. When it first came out it took off like a rocket. I didn't get around doing the Nightmare Modes where you do really need at Team and Co-op Partner that knows their stuff and is well equipped. But the 4 Player Defense Missions are a blast and pretty much non-stop between waves. Each Class brings a vital aspect though the Assassin is the weakest in 4-Player defense while being one of the Best in 2 Player Co-op Story. I'll have to jump in and just see if many are playing but sadly, the Worst Thing Sony Ever Did...taking away Communities...has made this a pain to do and get a team together. Players were able to post and get a group together easily; not anymore.

I'm down to Taking out The Eagle...I'm searching for one Last Banner and two Records to compete everything...got The Gold on Archery. I've been all over twice and opened up the Island (using Travelers Outfit) and still can't get a ping on missing banner and the last two records....been great and once again they've mastered a Open World that's been breathtaking....

Update...finished it and was well worth the price...the last final stretch was almost like the final stretch of Tsushima...lots of battling, fighting, blood flying, running all leading to a climatic finish. A good story with a lot of focus on Jin's past this time around that left you wondering all the way to the end....is Jin going to.....a ood ride and good added content to a already solid game.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

So, errr...any tips on how to defeat Take in the tournament? Obviously the first three hits are a cakewalk, and I can occasionally get a fourth as dumb luck once she goes hyper-defensive, but I cannot get a fifth for the life of me. All the tips I've read and videos I've watched just say "it's easy; just bait her to attack and parry!", but...I can't? Can't parry once she's all shiny blue attacks, all the time, anyway, and that's with upgraded monkey armor and a charm to further expand the perfect parry/dodge window.

Edit! Did it. I wound up switching back to Gosuko’s Armor and just spammed flurry attacks in water stance. Got it on my first try after posting this. And Sao went down on my first attempt too, doing the same thing.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I finished the Iki Island story!

I think I'm done now. The value seemed OK for $20 (except maybe in comparison to the full game), even if there wasn't a ton to do on the island, but the final battles were very fun. I eventually figured out the archery challenge and how to play the flute so I could check all those boxes, then I needed Youtube to figure out some of the shrines and how to complete A Helping Hand and Common Courtesy. Seriously, some of this stuff was like "wear certain armor and throw a certain thing"--WTF? I'm well short of all the banners and records, but I don't really feel like playing "find the pixel following the YT guide," and some of the stuff apparently won't even show up until I enter Legends mode or start a new game+ or whatever. I won one of the tournament battles but mostly found them annoying. I'd rather just move on to another game.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I just finished this game. i was on the path to do everything and then i completely leveled my character up and did all the side missions and it was either exploratioin or finish the game. i finished the game. very repetitive. it was good but i enjoyed the infamous series more personally. i thought there would be more varieties of enemies as well. the shaman folks i either never saw near the end or i wasn't paying attention.

I'm a few hours into this game and absolutely loving it. It's beautiful and it gets the player interaction stuff right... such as climbing up to honor a shrine but not having to climb all the way back down

Think Samurai Assassin Creed, but with a much better story than any AC game has had. It's fantastic!
If you want to play it, instead of buying it you can upgrade to the second Playstation Plus tier PS Plus Extra. The extended PS5 version is included with that subscription.

No that is the highest tier. You get everything. All the PS Plus content, the PS Plus Extra PS4 and PS5 games, and then Premium content of older generation PlayStation games, streaming games and game trials

It's hard to go wrong, but I would recommend Horizon Zero Dawn, God of War, or Ratchet and Clank. A personal underrated favorite of mine is Days Gone and you get it for free in the PlayStation Plus Collection.
