Adam is correct; you'll see why at the start of Act 2. No major spoilers or anything but that's when you'll understand.

Well I sure don't want any spoilers and was sort of leary of asking...well off to save uncle tonight or tomorrow and then to wherever.......been a blast so far....

Not sure what Sucker Punch has in store for the future...DLC, add-on's , missions....but I wouldn't mind more of those with "The Straw Hats" in the mix. That reminded me of those "Battles in Odyssey".....and shame they couldn't put in something, anything you could do say a Defend or Assault a Fort with co-op in mind....something like out of "13 Assassins facing 100 Moguls"....

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

So I've completed the main game, as noted earlier, and I've been doing side quests and such. I'm at a point where I no longer have any side quests in my queue, but there's still a TON of clouded map to reveal along with at least a dozen or so towns/camps/etc, in addition to the collectibles like fox dens, haikus (ugh), hot springs, and bamboo strikes. There's so damn much in this game

However... my problem is this... In terms of character progression, I've unlocked every single ability/technique except one. I have 1 ability point, but it needs 2. But the thing is that I've maxed-out on my current 'level' (you know where it shows the little samurai on screen with the semi-circle that unlocks each ability point), and although I'm at the complete maximum for my current level, it won't 'pop' the last ability point. Seems like a bug to me. It's weird because I did get the whole "your legend continues" bit like you usually do when each semi-circle completes. And I know I didn't get the last ability point I needed because I already had 1 left before I got to the max. Maybe the software update will fix it, but I'm not counting on it. If this is the case, then I expect I won't be able to get the trophy for it, either.

Anyone else have this problem?

No issue for me. I received enough tech points to unlock everything. Some random people you save along roads will give a tech point for saving them. Maybe try to find one of those?

In case you like to see some Worldwide Stats from the First 10 Days...Duels, Standoffs, Foxes petted, time on Horseback...who does this stuff...

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

Ok, so more hours into this today and started to get into it more. As with most of these games, the more perks and skills you unlock the more enjoyable it becomes. Fighting after opening 3 stances is very easy and more fluid. I rescued the Uncle and have stopped going through the story for the moment. Gonna ublock as many perks as i can before moving on. Not in a rush to finish it.

One thing that is still an irritant is location markers. You place one on tbe map but then it disappears until you are practically on top of it. Its annoying having to keep checkinf maps to ensure still on course.

Its shaping up to be a solid game. GOTY? Doubtful. But a sequel could be exceptional.

Is the horse riding/traveling in this as much as Red Dead Redemption or less so? I want to play this but the traveling in RDR just killed the enjoyment for me.

It seems horse travel is pretty fast, and there's lot of fast travel points you can take advantage of. It's the annoying wind GPS thing that bugs me.

Not even close. You can fast travel to anywhere you've been. Some you can fast travel to just by opening them up on the map; others like camps require you to clear them out first.

Hopefully you figured it out, but I believe you just have to follow the main quest, and one of your allies will lead you across.

Yep. There are some points where the place you want to get is much further away from any of your existing fast travel points, but the distance is way shorter than it appears on the map, especially if riding your horse. You may run into groups of bandits or Mongols along the way, but you can safely keep going or take them out quickly.

I liberate my first village and kill the first warlord and still very early in the game. This game is awesome.

Upon playing more, I am
happy to say it gets better. So much to do and the game is just beautiful. Not GOTY material by any means but it’s definitely worthy of an 8-8.5 rating.

I felt the same until Act 3. By the end, I'd put this as my top open world game of the generation; just passing Odyssey for the spot.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I'm just starting Act 2 which has brought some new surprises and a light uptick in strength of enemy AI...not to mention a new awesome landscape. I've got new points and icons all over the place now. It feels and looks like a new chapter for sure. I like the way Sucker Punch made it like this instead of say Origins and Odyssey where it was all one big world.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I've got a question about the progress with the various missions; side to main.....

I pretty much did everything in Act 1 "Before" completing the Main Quest...like saving the Uncle. Is there any bearing on if you just jump in and do the Main and then go back to all the other side stuff? Right now I'm like halfway with the Lady M, Old Man Archer and now the Monk, halfway with Liberating Villages and Places but yet to tackle any of the Three Main for Act 2.

I was just worried....because I've seen in some games if you didn't complete all the side quests you couldn't go back and do them later....if going out of the storyline would change all the side stuff. And was there like...any pluses or not doing the main First and then going back...without any spoilers....thanks

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I'm the type to clear out all side stuff before progressing the main quest so I'm not sure. One thing I know is that your options for "reflection" at hot springs expand as you do more things in game. Doesn't make any actual difference though.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

As far as I could tell, none of my unfinished side quests disappeared after progressing through the main story. Not really a major spoiler as it's typical to this type of game, but...
Spoiler:
The game ends with a sort of, "There's still so much work to do" kind of thing, and lets your roam freely to go back and take care of all your unfinished business.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima (PS4; 7/17/20)

I found a Glitch .that is keeping me from getting a Record.....I did Yarikawa Stronghold in Act 2 that's part of Jin's Adventure; there are Three Records there. I got in an area where I got the rumbling and spent 20 minutes looking everywhere. It's right near the main entrance with the Armorsmith thinking it was in her house. I finally had to breakdown and look at a guide......which according to it shows on top of one of the two towers.....problem is, in the picture the Tower is normal and mine it caught fire on top and the wood boards are knocked down....in the picture where jin is standing, yea that's burned up and in fact someone is up there repairing a wall...
