I had thought that it was one of the games in the #Xbox6in6 promotion but upon digging deeper it's not.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate
Anyone playing Yakuza: Like a Dragon?
I'm not sure what I think of it.
I never played any of the other Yakuza games, though I did DL the Remastered set. I was going to start with the oldest available and play through them, then I realized there's too many games I want to play to do that. I'll probably give the most recent 'main' game a shot. I heard this one is very different. It's turn based JRPG encounters set in modern day Japan. So far there's nothing 'unrealistic' or fantasy about it (although I saw screenshots/videos that look like there may be a bit of fantastical later on.)
The character styles put me in mind of Dynamite Deka and other similar 'classic' Sega games.
Combat so far is incredibly easy - I've had to use health in combat twice, and one of those times was when the tutorial told me to - and simple - I just keeping using his special attack.
BUT I remember thinking the exact same thing about the last Dragon Quest, where combat got much more intricate as I gained more party members.
Also - SO MANY CUTSCENES. I can Skip them but at least so far, a huge appeal of the game is the story, overacted as it may be, so I don't want to skip it. Out of maybe six hours of gameplay, easily 3-4 of that has been cutscenes. Again, it's somewhat engaging and sort of necessary to know why I'm doing anything, but I'd like for there to be more gameplay.
I did just add someone to my party, so hopefully the combat and actual gameplay will start becoming a little less rote. Random googling reinforces it's a very slow burn.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate
I played Like a Dragon for about 20 hrs or so before finally burning out. The combat, which the only reason I was interested in the game in the first place, never got any more difficult for me. It was almost trivial. I have party members who can heal, buff, debuff, etc, but I never really needed to use those abilities. Same for the summons.
I thought the story was actually really good and the mini games are interesting, but I came here for the combat and it turns out I don't like it that much.
But I did hear the difficulty spikes big time towards the latter third of the game so maybe it's worth sticking with.

Thanks for the insight...Hmmm...I'm OK with a slow burn to an extent, but that seems reaaally slow. And while I would like to follow the story, I can watch ten movies in that time. I like where the combat was going, and I don't want it to get Dark Souls difficult, but I would like to use a little bit of strategy.
Do you recall what chapter you made it to?
Maybe I'll give it another session or two then consider moving on to something else. Or just play it now and then, instead of it being my 'main focus' game.

I haven't played any of these but I thought I might give Yakuza Zero a shot. Worth it?

I actually prefer original language with subtitles on Japanese games when that option is available. The voice acting is usually better. Did that recently with Ghost of Tsushima.

I really got into Flight Simulator 2020 when it came out on PC last year. I picked up a Thrustmaster stick and throttle. It really is amazing.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate
Making sure: for the monthly Gold games, there’s no way to add them to my library like with PS+? I have to either download them, or start the download so they’re always in my queue/available. Is there another method to claim games without downloading?

I am pretty sure if you claim them, they will always be yours. I have tons of games I claimed but never downloaded from Gold and they still show up in my library.

I have been able to claim them no problem. Sometimes they start downloading, and I just cancel the download, and I don't leave them in my queue. They still show up in my games available to download section.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate
You can do it over the web, although the interface is pretty clunky, especially for 360 games. It'll prompt you at the end what console(s) you want to download to, but you don't actually have to select anything.

And that may be why mine never downloads. I usually do mine via web or the app.
