Deleted, restarted, took me back to the store page without a Get or Installed icon when I tried to play a game.

I used it for months before this without any issue.

I had the same issue that you have, while trying to get Halo Infinite working today. Here is what worked for me:

Launch PowerShell as an administrator and enter

get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers

Restart your PC, open PowerShell as admin again, and enter

start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

The Microsoft Store will open and ask to install Gaming Services, install.

Then, I needed to uninstall, then reinstall the game on the Xbox app. After that, the issue was solved.

The remove command gives an error message, I pasted in a post above.

0x80070002 is usually a Windows Update cache issue. In the search bar, type wsreset but don't hit enter. Right-click on the "wsreset Run Command" and choose Run as Administrator (Run as Administrator" is different than just running it while you are logged in as an administrator user). Reboot and then either try installing gaming service again or try the remove/install steps again

I also did this before the steps I mentioned earlier:

Press Windows Key + i and go to apps, search for ''gaming services'' click ''advanced options'' and then ''terminate, repair and reset.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH THIS DID IT!!!!!

After MONTHS something as simple as clicking repair, and now games just open.

THANKS!!

Well since I have you all here When I try to play games like Golf with Your Friends and Flight Simulator, Microsoft made games, it makes me Log in to my MS account and then continue, which I do, but it keeps looping into the sign in screen (saying I'm already logged in, showing the right MS username, but never stopping the loop) and I can never play the game. Ideas?

Meanwhile, off to play non-MS games....

Edit: Since repairing the XBOX app it asked to download something to make my Live experience and I did and now it ALL WORKS!!!!

Off to Golf With Myself

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

Games coming to Game Pass today/tomorrow:
Ben 10: Power Trip
Broken Age
Lake
Firewatch
Mortal Kombat 11
Paw Patrol: Mighty Pups
Race With Ryan
Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth
Transformers Battlegrounds
The Gunk

Also, reminder that spending a bit of time to do the daily/weekly/monthly quests will earn enough points to cover the cost of Game Pass. I earned about 13,000 last month, and I'm already past 9,000 this month. As long as you can rake up 35,000 every 3 months, that'll cover a 3-month GP code.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

I must be doing something wrong... I try to do the quests, but I've only earned like a total of 18000 points, since the beginning. I only do them on the Xbox, and I rarely do any that require buying stuff, so that may make a difference?

The GP games I've been playing most have been like 20 $ games....But games I probably wouldn't have bought blind. I think I'm about 60% through Fae Tactics, which has a couple interesting tweaks to the classic turn based strategy game. I hit a wall though, last couple battles I got killed, so I don't know if I need to go another route, do random battles, or just modify my strategy for these couple fights. I wish the combats were maybe 20% shorter but overall I've been enjoying it.
Also started Serious Sam 4, which I suck at but it's a fun big-boom game so far.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

3 month codes? Isn't it still much cheaper to just let Gamepass expire, load up on Xbox Live Gold and pay 15 bucks to convert?

I don't do any that require purchases either, but I do the ones that are game-specific. The worst was one where I had to play Elder Scrolls online for an hour I just set it up with cloud gaming and then switched to Netflix on my TV.

The main thing is to keep at it, as you get more points for having a streak going. I've got into a bit of a routine where I do all the tasks I can on my PC and my phone (log into GP app, do the Bing searches, do the 'trivia' tasks), then go to my Xbox and launch a quick GP game where I can get an easy achievement. I check if there are any weekly/monthly quests like "play game X" or "get xx points in game Y" etc.
It usually only takes about 10-15 min each day, except for when there's one that happens to take more time. The vast majority don't.

There are entire YouTube channels dedicated to getting the points as quick as you can, too.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

I dl'ed ESO just for those points
I try to hit the Quest area each day I'm on my console. Missing the PC ones. I just went through and got a couple hundred for quizzes and stuff. I'll keep that page upon my browser.
Earning "free" money is a lot of work sometimes I miss AllAdvantage and when MyPoints/Swagbucks didn't suck.

Can the expire/Gold/convert thing still work, at least to 'profit', or is it roughly value $ equivalent conversions and thus not worth the hassle?

Firewatch has gotten a lot of great buzz as an interesting, 'adult' (in the real sense) indie game.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

Yeah, I played Firewatch on PC a few years back. I loved it.

A good game for your daily achievements is The Artful Escape. You just have to walk and click speech bubbles and do a few Simon Says type of challenges. Insanely easy. I would just play that for 5-30 min until I got an achievement, then stopped playing it until the next day.

Today was the very first time I did the "buy stuff to get points" quests, because I had some credit to use up.

The expire/gold/convert thing still apparently works. If you've never done it, you pay $1 to convert it. If you have done it before, it's $15, but still worth the price. It's a great option for anyone not willing/able/patient enough to collect enough points every month, non-stop, to redeem free months.

Either way, Game Pass is pretty neat.

If you like puzzle games, I highly recommend The Pedestrian. This is the PS4 trailer, but available now on Game Pass for Xbox and PC.

Not sure where this belongs but since it's coming to game pass, Stalker got delayed until December, was supposed to be April. Maybe I can finally find the series X by then!

Didn't see an official post yet, but found this...

Death's Door is a game everyone should play. I loved it, and have zero regret actually buying it about a month ago.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

So MS is taking a page from magazines and being really pushy....two blocks or cells or whatever they're called on my Xbox home screen say "Your subscription is ending soon, renew now!"
My sub actually goes through August 2023
And i still have 15 months worth of unused codes.

Couldn't get into Hitman. Too much stealth, I just don't like that.

Playing Shadow Warrior 2 which is ridiculous and very fun. It's the most Borderlands-y non-Borderlands game I've played in a while. I'm tempted to get the SW3 preorder which comes with 1 and 2 as well. Heh - 1 is available via Gold as well so maybe the combo pack isn't a huge savings.
I did the bunny bounty last night.

Dreamscaper is a new roguelike/roguelite with a cool theme. I'm not too far into it but it's an interesting tweak on the usually fantasy-themed roguelikes.

Lost Words Beyond the Page - omg. I think I'm about 80% of the way through this one. Beautiful and sad and wistful.

i was wondering about this. can you gift 1 & 2 if you already have it? i mean why wouldn't you be able to just buy 3? i guess not a big deal for $49.99 which is good price if this is a fully realized game like the others, but 1 & 2 such a waste for those that have it. would be great if i could give them away. what do you get a code for both? or just downloads auto?

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

I would say 99.99 chance SW1 and SW2 can't be given away. You may be able to choose to download them or not, but I'm sure as soon as the purchase goes through, they are associated with your account.

Side note - not GP/GPU related - I wish (and I've probably said this before) that MS would allow or facilitate the resell of digital licenses. Even /sell/trade them back in to the marketplace. We (they) have got to have the technical capability to do so. I have definitely come around to buying stuff digitally a lot more than I ever was before, but I'd be even more in if there was resell or trade-in capability of "my" games. Even if only the license transferred and the marketplace portion was outside of MS/Xbox.
Of course from a marketplace perspective, private resell of games is what most publishers have been fighting against for years.

Re: Xbox Game Pass/Game Pass Ultimate

The Xbox app on my PC just randomly started shutting itself down. I can play installed games with the Companion App but can't install new ones.

What a shitty piece of software (Updating games is also quirky). Oh well, at least the year of Live/Gamepass was cheap.
