Your most satisfying boss fight(s)?

I know I did one a little while ago on toughest, but…

What’s the one boss, with no cheats, no help from internet, nothing, that you beat, felt relieved and overwhelming sense of satisfaction after beating?

I think the end sorcerer guy, no idea name or anything, but remember fight vividly in Eternal Darkness for Gamecube. It’s kinda of just master routine and what spells and stuff to use, but still tough for me. That’s a never forgetter and felt so good, not jut competed game, but got rid of him after dying, learning, dying some more and finally overcoming.

Also, Dark Samus or The Worm from Metroid Prime. Very tough and memorable. Still remember the bombing and rolling in that crevasse underneath DS. Beat it twice actually. Those are what I consider fun ones. There are those that, yeah I was relieved, but not so much satisfied. Control had few like that. Just tough and was glad to be done. Not too memorable. Killavolt from Borderlands 3, while memorable, that was just exhausting and no fun. Sure satisfaction, but not fun and wouldn’t want to revisit.

Sure it can be a middle boss, 1st boss or whatever. Doesn’t have to be final.

Any of the bosses in Returnal. They were generally pretty easy but the work to get there and knowing it was a restart on death made it very satisfying.

^ sounds like Hades which I have yet to get to. Perhaps this weekend, I’ll try for a few. Just too many on plate, one being Enslaved. The oldie but greatie from 360 days. Never did get too far. I think just first sequence or maybe first two. You’re in a plane and then on some beast in river. I dunno. But I know I was loving it snd I know very welled received.

Anytime I see a screenshot from the series the OG theme song gets stuck in my head.

Re: Your most satisfying boss fight(s)?

I feel like I've completely lost this after the dawn of gamefaqs and youtube videos, mainly because sometimes I can't tell if the developers made it impossible on purpose without knowing some secret way to beat a boss, and I don't have the patience I did as a kid to just try over and over and pray for success. But for the modern era it's probably a Dark Souls boss (or Bloodborne) of some kind, I'll have to think hard.

I'm rolling through Dark Souls 3 right now and found the Dancer of the Boreal Valley to be particularly satisfying because I had to change my gameplay style to beat her. The Soulsborne bosses were generally satisfying because if you screwed up at the end of the battle (I did plenty of times) it was a tough lesson to learn, and the excitement that came from finally taking one of the bosses down was always satisfying.

The first Banjo-Kazooie, hands down. From what I can recall, it was actually like some sort of boardgames...Very unusual, but I remember playing it with my brother and we both had a thrill...I think we even beat it off the first go, which is kind of rare...Usually we'd have to face the bosses like three or four times til we figure out their weakness an managed to beat them...That was different, but oh so much fun...Also always kind of liked the bosses in the Mega Man series, even though some were super cheap and you actually had to know exactly what order to beat the bosses in, given the powers they would grant you...So those ones were pretty time-consuming and a bit frustrating, but I still loved the names they were given...That was always kind of a novelty...

Beating Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts. I don't remember how long it took me but it was so sweet when that final hit took him down.

that looks fucking epic. I loved the hell out of One’s DmC reboot and can’t wait till get to 4 and 5. (I know slightly different look and feel, but from reviews I saw, not at all dissimilar and different game makers, I believe.). I think I got the deluxe digital editions on both. 5, for sure. But, I love the aesthetic, the mostly hack and slash. Finding stuff and these great undead/underworld enemies!

While the process was not satisfying at all, the end result of beating him was:

Having just completed that for the first time, that was definitely something. Got down to 0 Estus and had to use a Humanity to get life back, and then only survived by like a single hit

I should have found that Kindling perk beforehand. Biggie Ornstein is a bitch.

Re: Your most satisfying boss fight(s)?

I've probably mentioned it before but the final boss in Metroid: Prime. Never could beat that spider-thingy on the Gamecube. Cut to the Wii re-release and I beat it on one of my first tries. I think the motion controls actually helped make it easier. Felt good finally finishing a game I started years prior.

Never could beat that fucker. The fact that it dumped you back multiple levels was terrible. This would garner my vote for Worst Boss Fight ever.

All this time I was totally mis-remembering the final boss. I remember crevasses, but apparently that’s it.
I know I did beat MP 2x. Don’t know how, but I loved the shit out of that game.
