Re: Save $10.00 off Toy Story & Toy Story 2 Blu-rays when you upgrade from DVD or VHS
The only way we get out of paying at the theater where we're going is if we see it in 2D (which we will, as mentioned) and either go before 6:00 or if we go on a Tuesday, when all movies are $5.00 (provided this price scheme is still in place by mid-June). Otherwise, we'll have to pay a mere 50 cents apiece to go after 6:00 and a whopping dollar apiece to go on a Friday or Saturday night.
What I want to know is, what's so unique about Disney that they can be so healthy as a company while offering so many consumer-friendly deals that other studios aren't doing these things? Disney is actually paying the retailer $20 on our behalf for those coupons, and up to $17 to the theater on our behalf. That's $37 from Disney, and only $16 from us. And we didn't even get the insane deal plenty of other people got by pre-ordering at TRU and getting The Princess and the Frog!

perhaps if the studios were a little more reasonable on spliting ticket sales, then we would have lower ticket prices and concession prices.

You say "Target only allows the use of 1 manufacturer coupon", which is not the case or we wouldn't be talking about this. If they only allowed 1 coupon, not a single person would have gotten it to work. Now, to say this is their documented policy would be correct, but it is obviously being "allowed". We all know there are a lot of corporate policies out there that are not adhered to. Most states only "allow" cars to drive 55 miles per hour on a highway...
al·low - to give permission to or for; permit; to permit by neglect, oversight, or the like
If the Target computer system and/or all employees enforced this policy, then we could say they don't "allow" more than 1 coupon.
Yes - I realize I'm nit-picking, but so are you.
On the flip-side, I'm looking at the coupons right now. One statement printed on the coupons is "limit one coupon per specified item purchased". One could argue that this is somewhat vague - does that mean one coupon total of any kind on that item, or one of these specific coupons (thus making use of the $5 coupon in conjunction allowable)? The interpretation of that sentence is critical. Because the very next sentence on the coupon states "any other use constitutes fraud".

The Vineyard had no Toy Story 2. I finally found a copy at the Target at De Zavala and I10. However, that store was out of Toy Story 1 so I had to buy 2 there and return it at the Vineyard so I could buy both and get the extra $10 off. It was a long afternoon.

No dice.
I'm going to see if they restock tonight, so I'll hit them up again tomorrow.

Let me preface this by saying I used two $10 coupons at Target with two $5 coupons in hand that I did not even attempt to use. So I am not trying to make excuses for my personal actions.

PS Sorry about the Target / Toys R Us screw up.

Re: Save $10.00 off Toy Story & Toy Story 2 Blu-rays when you upgrade from DVD or VHS
I visited the Toys 'R Us in Downers Grove yesterday with both sets of coupons in hand. After grabbing TS1 blu ray (in BR case) and TS2 blu ray (in DVD case) I proceeded to the cashier. I also grabbed 2 candy bars so at least I had 4 items for my 4 coupons. Amazingly, the cashier was more interested in signing me up for the Rewards card rather than how many coupons I had. So here's what I ended up paying (less the candy):
TS1 $21.99
TS2 $21.99
less ($10.00) bundle discount
less ($10.00) upgrade coupon
less ($10.00) upgrade coupon
less ($5.00) rewards coupon
less ($5.00) rewards coupon
$3.98 for both or $1.99 each!
This is by far the best deal I've ever gotten on a blu ray that was marked $29.99! Thanks everyone!

However, the cashier said that they didn't allow "stacking" of coupons so I was only able to use the two $10 coupons. She was really nice about it and I was tired and had a headache so I didn't feel like arguing so I just put the $5 coupons back in my pocket and paid $13.99 for the two movies. Still an excellent deal so I'm not bitter.

Well my Brother in law wanted the deal so I went back with my 4 coupons (no toy r us near him) and presented everything. Cashier said she could only take 2. I said I understand..then she hesitated and said "well lets see what happens when we run them all"...2 minutes later I pay 6.36 and on my way

Is there a way to use these $10 upgrade coupons through Amazon? I've tried entering the UPC codes but neither seems to work.

You can email Amazon and attempt to get them to honor them after you place your order. People had success doing that with Monsters, Inc. and Up. That's the only way though.

Most people got thoroughly rejected and the mass of emails forced Amazon to stop offering customer service issue-based rewards, at least during that time period. Not really something I'd recommend someone do unless they have a legitimate beef or concern.

Re: Save $10.00 off Toy Story & Toy Story 2 Blu-rays when you upgrade from DVD or VHS
Well here is how I did since toys r us thread is shut down and don't feel like starting a new one
Princess and Frog with tax $7.70 after $10 coupon and preorder
Toy Story 1 and 2 $10 coupon for each $5.54
I was a little concerned about the preorders and when I got there I didn't see the blu. Employee maybe a manager saw me looking. Since I had a preorder and those were in the back had someone go get them. I then got in line eventually the helpful employee opened another line she asked about if I had any coupons? I gave her 2 $10 ones.
total of $13.24 for 3 blu and 2 tickets to toy story 3 average $4.41 a peice pretty good
beats 6.86 per Monsters Inc and Up

I picked up both at Target (in BD cases) for $18.50 out the door, using the $10 bundle, plus the 2 $10 off upgrade coupons.
I see others are getting better deals (deep bows to BASISON, in particular), but I'm more than happy with $9.25 a title...

Re: Save $10.00 off Toy Story & Toy Story 2 Blu-rays when you upgrade from DVD or VHS
I went to Target and price-matched TRU. I gave her the flyer and she rang them up at $16.99 each. Then, I gave her my 2 $10 off coupons and also got Target's "$10 off if you buy both". So, no scheming here and I walked out paying less than $6.50 after tax.
I guess I should be glad the TRU manager refused by manufacturer coupons, causing me to cancel my preorder and look elsewhere. I ended up saving an additional $10 at Target.

22.99 x 2 = 45.98
45.98 - 30.00 coupons - 15.98
Unless you have 16% sales tax?

The tax was $2.52; 7%, taxed on the $35.98 amount (before the 2 $10 coupons were applied).
Total bill: $18.50 for TS BD and TS2 BD.
A co-worker bought the same titles - with the same coupon/bundle discounts - at a different Target and he was also charged tax on the $35.98, before the 2 $10 coupons (though his tax was higher because of being in a different county).

Fortunately for me, Connecticut charges tax on the discounted, post coupon price.

Yeah I bought two copies of each last night and they charged tax on the pre-coupon $68 price, rather than the post-coupon $8 price. Oh well.

Hello,
I preordered Toy 1 and 2 from TRU and still waiting for the Blu-ray case version. What is involved in cancelling the preorder? Can anyone elaborate? I am tempted to just buy it from Target with price match rather than wait for TRU to restock.

Which one did you go to? There are two in DG, right? I went to the one by I355 and found both movies in the Blu packaging.

I went to the one off of Finley and Butterfield. I wasn't able to find TS2 in the Blu Ray packaging, and I even checked the 2 places they had them: in the check lane, and on the display unit. I even checked a few times to make sure that it really was the blu ray movie in a regular DVD case.
As for not being able to stack the coupons, did you go at the end of the night? I suspect that the cashiers at night are different than the ones during the day.
At least DickUSA will be happy that you did not get away with FRAUD!!!
