Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???
Of course by the the time you get the coupon in the mail, the DVD won't be on sale anymore.
This happened to me with Toy Story 3. I had to wait for it to go on sale again and hope it was before the expiration date on the coupon (which will be a later date than when you print it).

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???
west hollywood target definately didnt allow it this morning. one customer was actually getting into a argument with the cashier over not being able to use the coupons and get the 8 dollars off.
so if your in the socal area and are wanting to use the coupons and discount i would stay clear of the west hollywood target since it appears other target locations are letting you purchase them with the coupons and discount.

Total w/tax was $ 30.02 for both the 4-disc newer Tron BD and the 2-disc classic BD.
Guy looked twice at the Target coupon because it did not scan and I pointed out that one of the Trons was $ 24.99, hence the additional $ 5 off. He shrugged and manually took it off as a "Target Coupon" ~ you just gotta know how to pick the right cashier . . .

Pretty much what I went through. He read the back, shrugged, and manually applied the 5 dollars off.
My DMR wouldn't print either, so I just said meh whatever.

Grr... living in bumblephuque has its disadvantages. Local Target had boatloads of the Tron Legacy versions, but ZERO of the original Tron on BR. So even though there were signs everywhere for the $8 discount for buying both, you couldn't. No rainchecks either.

Because the $5 coupon only went to a rare few and the one posted in the forums isn't a legit coupon. I'm not judging people. The temptation is there myself, but I just can't bring myself to use it. Having no money, right now, helps, though.

Just because we have money doesn't mean we don't like to save.
But, kudos to you for not spending what you don't have. A lot of American's can learn from your example.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???
I walked away empty-handed today after visiting a couple of stores. I may end up buying original and new Tron 2-disc sets from Amazon. I don't think I want to drive around town, wasting gas, looking for these sets.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???
Thanks for the reminders on the double points for Tron Legacy. Normally I save my codes for special offers, but for 400 points for Tron Legacy 3D I opened it up and entered it now.
Now if only there were anything I wanted to redeem my points for (or perhaps I should say I think the point values of the few items I want are too high). :-( For now I'll just accumulate the DMR points until I'm forced to use them. Last I heard they extended the DMR points for at least 6 months if not a year.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???
My printer broke this AM and I was wondering if the TARGET coupon posted here on the boards for I think $5 off any Disney movie over $24.99 (it was green I think w/ a TARGET logo). Is that legit and does it need to be folded a specific way to work? And can I use it w/ my Disney Rewards TRON coupon? Sorry if it has been asked but it's a quarter to 3 in the AM and I know how sensitive some are about asking repeat questions.....

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???
I wasn't talking about people having money or not. I know that if I had a lot of money, I'd still be clipping coupons and finding the best deals. But using a non-legit coupon is just hard for me to do. I'd like to. I want to. But then I think "What happens to the cashier who takes it (especially if they take several of them) then gets in trouble for taking it?" Then the more we use non-legit coupons, the more likely they will stop offering coupons period. As for using a coupon for an item it's not intended for is a bigger battle for me, though. I have been close to using the Disney coupon for the regular blu-ray edition several times. Especially when it comes to the expensive 3D sets that I will probably never use. I'm just saying that having no money to spend helps me avoid it. If I had more money to spend, I might actually be more tempted to use the coupons. As then I would have the money to purchase the movie, but would want to save as much of it as I could. If I don't even have the money to purchase, it makes it a lot easier. Trust me, though, I was planning on buying Tangled, Tron and Incredibles, but the prices are just way too high, and seeing that I was about to complain about not being able to afford diapers for my children, yet was going to spend $20+ a week on movies kind of changed my perspective a bit
Had they been around $10 or so like previous Disney releases, I might have splurged a little
So don't worry about the kudos. I'm definitely not one who is good at not spending money. I think I just found myself at a place of no choice ![Smilie](/images/smilies/smile.gif)

My local Target didn't have the original. Ending up going to Best Buy as I had reward zone certificate to burn. Grabbed the last of the original Tron and Legacy. FYI when you purchase both, they knock $5 off the original tron. Not as good as Target, but the stock my be greater.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???
In my opinion, if you print the $5 Bunny Money Target Disney coupon on anything other than double-sided in color so that it looks like an original, then it really all depends on the cashier.
Technically virtually every coupon says not combinable with other offers or void if copied, scanned, etc. (yet they give many such coupons out online for you to print). So if a cashier really wants to deny you, the cashier can probably find some reason in the fine print or by saying the coupon is not an original, but if it's your average cashier who doesn't have an axe to grind with the world or doesn't have a power trip, then the cashier probably won't care if it's folded or double-sided or B&W and will take the coupon as long as it looks valid... especially if you're handing over other coupons. It's a legitimate coupon except unlike other coupons it was not distributed online (AFAIK) but via limited mailers.

How do you get double points for this? I entered the code out of my 3D set yesterday and only got 200 points.

I don't want to try it because in the back of the bunny coupon clearly stated that "Void if copied or scanned".

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???
Folded the Target coupon right down the middle, nothing fancy, and worked in conjunction with the Disney coupon, I had on interest in the original Tron, so just picked up Tron Legacy 4-discer, out the door, $14.99 plus tax, not too bad for a loaded BD on release week. ![Smilie](/images/smilies/smile.gif)

How is that "playing it safe"?

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???
Do you have proof of it? I haven't seen anyone say they asked Target if they accepted it. Just because it works doesn't mean it's legit. If I made a bunch of counterfeit money, it doesn't mean it's legit just because people accept it as real. Target intended this coupon to go out to a select few. Copying it and having hundreds (if not thousands) of people using it multiple times is abusing the intended use for the coupon. I seriously doubt that Target corporate would be so willing to let this slide. If they had posted it for everyone to print online, that's one thing. But this wasn't the case. That's why other forums are pulling the coupon when people post it. Not that you can't still find it as it's hard for them to keep up with everyone reposting it, but it's highly frowned upon. If there is proof that Target is fine with using it, then I might actually have to reconsider my purchases and go out and get Tron (especially since $15 is a lot better than $50 as some stores want for it and what I'm afraid the price will be after the first week). But, as of now, there is no proof of that. The only reason I even brought it up in the first place is to warn people about it as a lot of people are using it not realizing it's not legit and ignorance doesn't make it right. Once you know the correct information, it's up to you whether you want to use it or not. But I didn't want people to be using it thinking it's legit, when it's not. When there is proof otherwise, then I will gladly tell everyone to use the coupon.

If Target didn't want everyone to use it they could have easily have coded it as a one time use coupon like other retailers do. If they didn't, any loss if their fault until they make an official announcement saying they will no longer accept them, etc. (They could easily just send an announcement saying the current ones would no longer be accepted and the email new ones out to people with limited use restrictions on them by the use of numbers on the coupon)
I've used similar coupons for other retailers that weren't made available to everyone in the past without feeling bad about it. These companies are large enough to know how to deal with coupons and promotions like this.
