Double check under "View all recent codes" and it should be there. When I typed in the code, the confirmation only said 200 and under recent codes on the main page it only shows the 200, but when I click view all recent it shows another 200 with the description "Tron: Legacy 3D Combo Pack Double Points"

The $8 discount wasn't a coupon, so a 3rd item wasn't needed. And seeing as one of the coupons was a Target coupon, I don't think that would count either. But yes, it is true that you can't have more manufacturer's coupons than items at Target.

I'm with you. I did use it ONCE, with a gift card, at a store I never go to. I don't want any way of them tracking me.

Copying and scanning a coupon which expressly prohibits doing so is coupon fraud, plain and simple. Just because stores are accepting it, doesn't make it right. Will they come after anyone and press charges? Highly doubtful. That shouldn't be a green light for abusing the coupon, but most of us are adults here. Do it at your own risk. I figure the worst case scenario is getting banned from a store, which I'm not willing to risk.

If you guys feel this strongly, then I recommend you do what you think is right! However, my Target employees have explicitly told me they accept print-outs of coupons as long as they scan into the system. The fact is, a store coupon is not a manufacturer coupon. No one is losing the money, except the store that issued it. And if the store accepts it and knows that it is a copy, then it IS okay. The rules are placed there, in such cases, to allow them to reject it in case they want to, but barring that it's fine.

Unless it is the General Manager of the store telling you it is OK, then I disagree. Just because you find a stupid cashier or even a supervisor that says it is OK, doesn't make it right. The store IS losing money on the coupon. It isn't like a Disney coupon where they get reimbursed. I DARE you to call your store and ask the General Manager if it is okay to use scans of a coupon you downloaded off of the internet at his store.

I get that the Target Coupon says, "Void if Scanned or Copied," so using the coupon that was posted is technically in violation of the terms and the stores shouldn't accept them. But the Barnes & Noble Coupon said, "For each customer, this coupon can be redeemed once at any Barnes & Noble store. Limit one per customer," so using it more than once is a violation of the terms and stores shouldn't accept them either. How are the two situations any different?

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

You may be right, but I think if there was a risk of them getting fired they probably wouldn't do it. Meaning these kinds of coupons are not the focus of any investigations, or problems or reprimands. At the VERY least it's probably part of a toleration policy, meaning they'd accept them but they don't like them. Anyway, follow your conscience. I personally feel okay with it, given the context I mentioned.

Interesting argument, but I do have a rebuttal. Using a coupon more than its intended use is not TAMPERING with the coupon. It also doesn't fall under any definition of "Coupon Fraud" which I have found. Scanning and copying a coupon is definitely a form of coupon fraud, and there are State and Federal laws against it. The Target coupon wasn't an online coupon meant to be printed. Here are two websites which explain coupon fraud, but there are many others:

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

FYI, I've said my peace, and won't say any more. I wasn't intending on starting a debate. I'm not on a crusade to stop people from using the coupon, and I truly don't believe Target will go after anyone. I'm just among the minority who doesn't want to do anything "shifty" just to save $5...

I get what you're saying though and the distinction between this coupon and the Barnes & Noble coupon seems reasonable. For what it's worth, I think I actually did get the booklet that contained the Target Coupon in the mail, but I threw it away with the rest of the junk mail, without checking of course, lol.

Your bolded quotes are true to point out. I was willing to do something "shifty" the one time, because I had a GC and felt it was safe. And I'll admit I have done other "shifty" things in my life as well. But I don't like to do anything "shifty" which leaves a trail...

I do want to add that I think it was bullshit that this catalog wasn't distributed better. I have a Target c/c, and I get mailings from Target occasionally, but I didn't get THIS one, and apparently most of us did not. Once again, this seems similar to B&N, where most people do not receive their email coupons anymore...

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

You'd think Target would tighten their coupon restrictions up after that whole "Hello Kitty coupon" debacle.

It does seem like Target to pick and choose who gets what coupons in the mail; I think they do that already with the coupons that print out at the register. And I could have sworn that a year or so ago both my wife and I got coupon books that were different.

Amazon just refunded the price-drop difference, so I got both Tron: Classic (BD/DVD) and Tron: Legacy (BD/DVD) for $31.98.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

I'm with Kenbenobi about not starting up a debate. However, may I note that his links to coupon fraud refer to manufacturer coupons, not store coupons. The illegality is backed by the premise that stores don't get reimbursed by the manufacturers, so it's like stealing. However, when a store takes its own coupons they don't need reimbursement from a third party. Ipso facto it's okay, especially when they tell you it is.

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

As someone who got the coupon in the mail, I'm pretty sure I know why I get them.

The ad my coupon came in was basically an ad for Easter toys/candy/other crap aimed at kids.

I'm not sure if everyone got the same ad but I probably got mine because five years ago I had a baby and was registered at Target and still buy a lot of toys and other kid stuff there. That's why most the ads/coupons and stuff I get from Target are kid related. I think they do track your purchases when you use they coupons they send and send more coupons based on those purchases.

Or I could just be paranoid.

Tron Legacy had double points automatically on 4/5/11. It gave me 200 points followed by a 200 point bonus. If you entered your code on 4/5/11 and didn't get double points, you should email their customer service about it. Perhaps you entered the code after their clock had changed to 4/6/11 wherever DMR's website is based?

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

I decided to buy Tron & Legacy in the store at Target. Got it for > $26.98 OTD. Might sell my 5-disc set that I got from the DMC. Thanks to the guy who posted the original Target coupon!

Re: Tangled and/or Tron Coupons???

My store finally/luckily got some back in stock today, so I was able to buy the "Tron" Blu-ray along with the 4-disc "Tron Legacy" Blu-ray. Was able to use the $5 Disney Coupon, plus two $5 Target Disney Coupons (one for each film), along with the $8 Target discount for buying both together. Wound up with both for $23.60 after taxes.
