That is weird.

I wasn't even looking at the coupon on the box. The cashier told me I should pick up Dances with Wolves as I would get it for $3 (I had 2 trade-in coupons with me)...so I went back to the Blu-ray section and picked it up. If she didn't mention it, I would have never have known or bought it.

Got lucky and found a "10 Things I Hate About You" during lunch. Now if I could only locate Escape From LA and The Crow: City of Angels.

Finally found Cape Fear today. I have 3 more DVD's to trade-in, but I can't find anything on my list. SOOOO many titles are out of stock. I really want to find "10 Things I hate about you" but no such luck.

this deal is just too fucking tempting i'm gonna hit it up one last time this afternoon. thankfully almost none of this has come out of pocket, been trading in a lot of games that i didn't want. plus if you throw 5 bucks on a pre-order of the new final fantasy or saul calibur you get 50% more on your trade in. all said and done i'll probably end up with 25 new blu's from this deal.

I wouldn't mind finding Escape from LA for $5 after U&S. I kept meaning to get it on dvd but I never found it cheap enough. It looks like it is not available in my area though (according to the website).

That Cashier is probably being questioned right now by her God-like superiors...you may have jeopardized her career. I mean a coupon on top of a Best Buy promotion ??? God forbid...the iron clad policy of Best Buy should NEVER allow that. It was shouted to me in my face when I presented the Universal $3 coupon y'day for '40 Year Old Virgin'

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

:/

I went ahead and tried one more time to find The Incredible Hulk. I asked an employee, he said they had three in-stock somewhere, he checked in the back, and while I searched the floor, neither of us found anything.

Ended up with Gangs of NY and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but was really hoping for The Incredible Hulk. I gave up.

Not to criticize (I'm the same way at times), but wouldn't it have been cheaper just to order it at this point? It's like $10 bucks at Amazon. That's surely got to be less than making multiple trips and spending a bunch of time looking for it.

Went tonight for probably my last time. Had a 35 dollar gc from complaining about one of their brain dead employees halfway through the sale. Ended up getting

Final Destination 5 3D
Family Man

for 2.32 out the door.

Probably worth noting that Green Hornet 3D and Conan 3D are on sale for $19.99 each this week.

I picked up each for $14.99.

I saw that, but I already have Green hornet, and I hear Conan isn't all that good of a movie.

Probably not, but I would have easily bought it for $10 anyway ... and an extra $5 for 3D makes it worth it to me.

Picked up Sopranos Season One for 19.99 with the discount.
No luck finding Apollo 13. My local store got restocked on a lot of the 9.99 titles this weekend and amazingly updated the prices on the ones that were actually 9.75.

That's true. I don't have a 3d tv yet but I am planning on getting one. I usually just take the price i am willing to spend on a movie and add 5 bucks, if that price is the price of the 3d I get that, or if it's just 5 bucks more over what I'm paying at the time basically. The only exception was Final Destination 5. I wasn't going to buy that unless it was the 3d one and it's BBY exclusive unfortunately. Luckily when i complained about those damn employees they gave me a 35 dollar gc so after U&S I got it for free, so that works. I wouldn't have paid 35 for it, I would have waited for it to go down.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

had too much free time today so stopped by 2 stores that aren't far from each other. One was very barren on the blu-ray shelves. The other looked like it had been restocked with only a few empty slots.

Ended up getting Terminator: Salvation with a coupon and The Losers on sale. Still not sure what to use the last coupon on. Maybe Dance Movie...

Finally got Road to Perdition.

Bought it online for 9.99 and then took it to the store where they returned it, and let me rebuy it using the 5 coupon.

K-19 still on backorder so doesn't look good for that.

Can anyone else confirm that the titles formerly marked at $9.99 but scanning at $9.75 (e.g., Glory, Boyz N Tha Hood, Stripes) are now scanning at $9.99? If so, I'll be making another run this weekend.

Thanks

I went yesterday to buy Stripes and the title scanned at $9.75. I tried to tell them that it was marked at $9.99 but that didn't work. Seems to be a YMMV situation.

Oh well picked up the last copy of Raging Bull at the store and bought Insomnia instead. Also got one of those 0.01 Game of Thrones samplers.

They are still scanning $9.75 but in both the stores near me there is still $9.99 tag on the shelf. I didn't have much trouble getting them to override the price on Glory and Stripes yesterday. The first guy had no clue how to do it and needed help but didn't have any problem doing it. The next girl had a bit of an attitude and said it won't work but I asked her to try anyway and it worked just fine. I don't understand how they can deny the price adjustment if the tag on the shelf or on the disc itself doesn't match what's in the system. If they update the price tags then I wouldn't argue at all.

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

I love how best buy purposely lowered those to 9.75 so they wouldn't work with the sale, but because their brain dead employees never removed the tags they are still being used for the sale.

Used this deal for the first time today, and while it may be morally wrong, I got Paranormal Activity 3 for 17.99

Stripes still scanned for $9.75 for me this afternoon ... the customer service rep mentioned that it needed to be $9.99 and would be increasing the price. he seemed to know what needed to be done and made it work.

I later looked at my receipt and saw that I had gotten it for $4.75.

I'm confused, how is that morally wrong? The coupon works on ANY blu 9.99 and up. That's how it's supposed to work :P
