Is this the case with "Mamma Mia" also? Or does it always ring up at $9.99?

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

Went back to the same store that had nothing two days ago. They restocked. The shelves were pretty full, but that's not saying I struck gold or anything. But I did find some I've been looking for. I got:
Conan 3D - $14.99 (had purchased it for $22 a while back, so figured I'd save 8 bucks)
Cold Mountain - $4.99
10 Things I Hate About You w/slip - $4.99
Ghost - $4.99

I think I'm actually out of DVD's to trade, but I may buy some cheapo $1 DVD's to trade in a few more...

Not sure what "terminator in terminator case" means but if you mean the one shaped like the face of the robot, that is a different item from the one in a standard case and also a different price.

Raging Bull 4.99
Fast & Furious 4.99
American Beauty 4.99
Paranormal Activity 3 17.99

I have gotten rid of all kinds of garbage, and gotten 18 blu-rays in the process. And there's still stuff that I would buy.

Have only seen one other person doing the trade-in at the store.
Maybe that was me? I've done 4 trade-ins at that store.

I had no idea til I read the post above that PALE RIDER was only $9.99. I don't think I've seen that title at any of the stores I've visited.

It's not a rerelease. BB's been known to occasionally put titles out early. There's been Cold Mountain and Shakespeare in Love sightings (both of which were scheduled to drop on the 31st.)

Re: Best Buy Upgrade & Save, Jan 8 - Jan 28, 2012

Had to take a trip out of town today for other reasdons, but luckily, it brought me upon a Best Buy that is normally not worth taking the hour extra plus drive for alone. Glad I did, as I was able to find a few other Blu Rays that my local store has yet to have in stock since this sale started, and use up the last of my coupons before it's over.

Finally got copies of Apollo 13 and Forgetting Sarah Marshall - both the BR/DVD/ Digital Copy versions - for only $4.99 each. Also picked up the 3 disc 30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind for only $9.99. Still couldn't find Ghost or Leon:The Professional, but at least I came away with others I'm happy with.

Looks like one of my stores restocked today ... they had 3 Apollo 13 100th anniversary discs, where they had none through yesterday.

I saw it in store today at one of the best stocked Best Buys in my area ... other nearby stores did not have it.

Here's a question. I was just in my local Best Buy to get 50/50. The cashier scanned my $5 coupon but mistakenly handed it back to me on top of the Blu-ray. So, I walked out the door with it. Is it reusable, or is each one unique?

Not unique, but some stores may require you have an accompanying trade-in receipt with it.

Thanks Flix, hope I can find it!

FunkDaddy, the same thing happened to me and the coupon was still valid even after using it once. YMMV and watch out for this thread's bible belt when it comes to such moral transgressions against the sanctity of the almighty Best Buy.

I've never gotten a trade-in receipt. They just take my DVDs and hand me coupons.

My store requires the receipt with the coupon and crosses out each trade-in on the receipt with a marker after it's redeemed. Very strict and unfriendly management there.

I see you're in the DC metro area so I'm wondering which store that is. I've been to Tysons Corner, Fair City, Springfield and Fairlakes and none have seemed to care about the receipt. Fairlakes didn't even give a receipt and only gave photocopies of the coupon.

I've traded in at two stores.
My regular place just hands me coupons for each trade along with the trade in receipt, but they never ask for the receipt.
The other one, Stanton De. gave me one copy of the coupon along with the trade receipt.
Five traded in, one coupon.
Register crossed out one trade on the receipt and marks the coupon with a note that said one trade used.
Next day at regular BB I used that same slip. Bought three DVDs. I explained to her why I have one coupon with five trades and one crossed off.
She handed me the coupon and slip without crossing anything off.

Reston. They are very strict about having both receipt and coupon, and they have disallowed discs that other people got discounts on elsewhere.

The Louie Season One did not automatically take off the $5, as several other people on the board have pointed out. However, the girl ringing it up didn't even question it. She merely called a manager over for an override, who did it without any fuss.
When I tried to buy Louie Season One, the system wouldn't take the discount, so the clerk called over the manager who said, "It's a series, not a movie, so no discount for you!" I accepted her verdict politely. Ditto for both Cloverfield, which was labelled $9.99 but came up at $16.99 in the system, and The Searchers, which was labelled $9.99 but rang up at $7.99. Both times I've traded-in DVDs, the transactions were time-consuming and embarrassing, because I don't like being treated like a scammer when I've done nothing unethical.

So, yes, the Reston, VA store blows.

I haven't seen the set but some people were saying something about Louie having a dvd in it somewhere so it rings up as a dvd in bby's system. That's the reason I heard that it isn't working like it should.

Has anyone price matched at Wal Mart on the Upgrade & Save? If so , did you have to have the coupon from Best Buy? Also, has anyone Price matched at Wal Mart with the Upgarde & Save and also used the $3 Universal 100th Anniversary coupon?

Each disc in the set is double-sided, DVD on one side, Blu-Ray on the other. $9.99 is still a good price for the set, just not as good as $4.99

I picked up Louie for $4.99 near the beginning of the program. It didn't come up automatically, since it was in a DVD case and flagged as a DVD in Best Buy's system. However the dude just told me to go to customer service. I told the guy there that it wasn't taking the discount, but was clearly a blu-ray, and he did an override for it.

Was it actually the 100th Anniversary edition, or you got them to do a regular Universal title?
