re: [DEAD] Warner Archive Sale - 4 for $44 + Free Shipping

Thanks to bacigalup for the WBED20 code!

This was my first time ordering from WAC so I kept it under $100...

- Days of Wine and Roses
- Gaslight
- A Streetcar Named Desire
- What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?
- Super Fly
- A Patch of Blue
- Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
- Guys and Dolls
- The Thin Man (got an extra copy for a bud of mine)

re: [DEAD] Warner Archive Sale - 4 for $44 + Free Shipping

Picked up the following:
Bronco Billy
Battleground
Girl Crazy
The Harvey Girls
The Shop Around The Corner
It's Always Fair Weather
The Pirate
The Curse Of Frankenstein
After The Thin Man

Then I forgot I wanted The Man Who Would Be King so I ordered it plus:
Wait Until Dark
Gaslight
Night Moves

The 20% coupon worked both times and I only lost out on the $2.50 shipping for the second batch. I love this sale and I hope it still exists in some form or another after the distributor change over.

Appears the 20% off code now have been blocked or discontinued

SHOPWB15 = 15% may still be active at least for a one time use

BELLS ARE RINGING Bluray now appears to be eligible

Bummer about the 20% since I took too long to fill up my cart. Was able to use the SHOPWB15 code, though. I ordered 12 titles and did get free shipping even though my order was $132 before the discount, so maybe they're waiving the $2.50 shipping charge now?

I ordered:

The Hidden
The Hunger
Night School
Night Moves
Innocent Blood
Dark Passage
Fearless Vampire Killers
Mystery of the Wax Museum
Judgement Night
Year of the Dragon
Leatherface TCM3
Hudsucker Proxy

The email I received says this is the LAST 4 for $44 sale ever. Wonder if they're shutting down?

The $150 needed for free shipping is on the pre discount price. So if you order enough $11.00 discs whose total regular price of $21.99 or $19.99 tops $150 you will get free shipping.

The email I received says that $2.50 shipping (I assume total) is part of the sale.

Hope not. I wouldn't have a problem if they felt a need to up the sale pricing to, say, 4 for $48, something like that.

Just used 'SHOPWB15' and it worked fine.

Blood on the Moon
Kentucky Kernels
Sweet Bird of Youth
Rachel and the Stranger
The Pirate
Tex Avery Vol. 2
The Curse of Frankenstein
The Giant Behemoth

Lots of people reporting problems with adding items esp on mobile, tablet and SAFARI.
If you are PC, try a different browser adn also try to go to the individual item page first, then add item to cart rather than trying to do it from the Sort Page/Quick Add

Not sure about your 15% question, but guessing :"Is it one time use" -- not sure, but possibly or is it still Active Saturday -- it appears to be

EDIT: a couple people did report the 15% code to be one time use. I never heard back from folks setting up a new acct if it worked or if it went by billing/mailing address

EDIT/EDIT: a couple people now confirming a New Account/New email seems to be eligible for the 15%

re: [DEAD] Warner Archive Sale - 4 for $44 + Free Shipping

The site was really buggy for me all weekend. It was frequently unresponsive and acted like I had no internet connection, despite not having any issues with any other sites. Regardless, I managed to place a big order. I figured if this is the last 4 for $44, I might as well splurge.

Thanks for the coupon code. That was a nice help.

Hope you're right.

Does anyone know: on under $150 orders, is total shipping $2.50 or just a $2.50 discount?

It took me quite a while and multiple attempts to get my order in. I spent a fortune between this sale, Hamilton Books and the Kino.

Shipping for dvds or blu rays is for this sale $2.50 per order for orders under $150. The receipt may show a larger shipping charge but the total charge on the receipt for the order will include a $2.50 shipping charge and not the larger amount for shipping on the receipt if you add up the charges. Confusing? Yes, but that is how WB Shop does it.

Stranger thing is -- it doesn't do that for every order. Sometime it's just shows zero Shipping and others seem to get a Higher Charge with an extra line item (- $x.xx) to zero it out. Bottom line is the bottom line is usually
correct though I'd double check the math just to be sure. It been reported intermittently for several sales
All that assumes choosing std shipping and not being in Alaska/Hawaii

I wonder what their plans are moving forward? They are obviously not ready to disclose them yet.

Ordered another 4 before the sale ends; Curse of Frankenstein, Attack of the 50 ft Woman DVD, Gun Crazy & V. 15% still worked

Interesting. Unclear what impact that's going to have on these limited & MOD WAC's.

One positive takeaway from that- they aren't talking about cutting out physical releases this year.

Even though streaming drove 63% of 2019’s $25 billion home entertainment revenues, the demand for physical product titles remains solid having earned $5.9B on Blu-ray Disc, DVD, 4K Ultra HD and digital per the Digital Entertainment Group’s recent report. From what I understand, Universal and Warner Bros. share the same mission in regards to maintaining this revenue stream, not only through operational efficiencies, but also through innovation. Their goal is to sustain the longevity of the physical category in a global marketplace where consumers’ viewing habits are continually evolving. In addition, from what I’ve heard, even with the shiny introduction of Disney+, that Burbank studio isn’t abandoning their DVD arm as consumers continue to scoop up Marvel, animation and Star Wars titles following their theatrical release.

Interesting that video discs are still in demand, while audio is almost totally going streaming (not something I'm happy about).
