Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

Ah, that explains why the Friday the 13th Collection is on sale. I'm still surprised this is still even available.

I'm considering making a couple of purchases here.

How does Shout Factory ship their boxed sets? Do they just toss them unsecured into an empty box like Amazon so the contents get the shit beat out of them by the time they reach my house? Or do they ship them well-packaged?

Even with the generous discount, I'd still be pissed if I spend a couple hundred dollars on boxed sets only to have them arrived all scuffed up with crushed corners.

The last few singles they've sent to me have been in bubble mailers, which I'm not particularly fond of since they don't really protect anything during the rigors of shipping.

When I ordered the Friday the 13th BD set a couple of years ago, it was delivered via tracked shipping on UPS. It was a thick and secure cardboard box.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

I haven’t ordered from Shout/Scream directly for a while but I seem to remember they always had decent packaging and got things out pretty quickly. I got the Friday the 13th set directly from them with the posters and it all came very nicely packaged with no dings/damage.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

A couple there I would like to get but not enough for free shipping. 😕

I wonder how many of these are being geared up for 4K?

I know Red Dawn has been released and Bill & Ted has been announced.

The Percy Adlon Collection is in the sale and it is one of their limited items. It was double the price before the sale and it is limited to 1500 copies.

Free shipping at $50.01 and a free T-Shirt at $100.

Beware though, they try to sneak in a shipping insurance fee during checkout.

Shipping insurance? WTF? It's not MY job to ensure that the product I paid you for makes it to me without getting lost or damaged.

Damn. If my Halloween box set hadn’t gotten canceled at Walmart, I’d be all over 4 & 5 in this sale.

I believe so. I don't think it has gone lower than the $95-100 range.

Maybe. IIRC, only the first four movies got 4K scans, so if it happens, it’ll be a long way off.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

I couldn’t resist Halloween, II, IV and V 4K as I only have most on DVD. I skipped III since it’s so-so and I have the blu-ray.

Damn, Amazon is PMing...and I got a ton of credit to cover the whole purchase. Had decided to save it all for BF. Must resist

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

I put in an order for the Shocktober sale back on 9-30 but no shipping or movement yet. Kinda surprised and was hoping to have these soon.

Anyone else?

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

Put in three exceedingly large orders – mainly to clear out the remaining Shout titles that still interested me and be done with the label for a while (got three t-shirts as a result) – and so far only one item has shipped, the only DVD in the entire order. I know they post a warning that items may ship from different warehouses, but I'm not fond of the practice when so few other labels do that. Don't mind waiting for a bulk or combined shipments.

There is a banner at the top of the site that there are shipping delays.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

I have a partial shipment of 1 of my 2 orders. If I'm reading the email properly it's 2 whole titles (out of 7). I can be patient...

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

Traditionally, you don't get most of your "Shocktober" sale items until some time in November, well past Halloween.

That might be why they pushed the sale up to the first week of October.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

I think my strategy as of late with S/S Factory is to look at their website and then buy from Amazon. I did buy a couple of movies awhile back that were a significant deal and I was in no hurry to get them.

Re: Shout / Scream Factory Blu-ray Sales

2 titles from my first order (placed October 1st) arrived today. I've not received a shipping notice for anything else as of the time this was posted.
