I just pre-ordered the Superman Bd set and it seemed to have gone through ok (using Firefox and checking out as a guest). Unless it gets canceled down the line- but I didn't have any problems checking out.

These Borders coupons have helped fill a bit of the void left by DDs old summer sales. Assuming they actually go through, between this and the two B&N sales coming up, I'll be spending about the same that I used to in years past w/ DD.

A few CD pre-orders weren't adding to the cart before, but now a few are. Every DVD or Blu Ray works for me now, too. Sadly, the one pre-order I care about still gives me an error (Devin Townsend "Deconstruction" 2-disc for the curious).

I second the comment about these codes filling the gap of the old DD sales -- back when they didn't jack up their prices before releasing the codes. I'd given up on finding some of the Severin Films/Scorpion Releasing titles for less than $10, but most of the ones I've ordered came to just $7.99 with the code.

If you happen to have any Paramount/Warner Bros. catalog titles on your wishlist (especially those that have showed up at Big Lots) it might be worth searching for them on Borders.com. I ordered Pee-Wee's Big Adventure and Paris When it Sizzles w/Audrey Hepburn for $2.99 each after the coupons.

ETA: Also noticed some of the Mill Creek 12 movie sets are priced $6.99. They should come to $3.50 + tax with the 50% off code + free shipping code (ISG414XP).

Another way to get the order in is calling their corporate office and staying away rom the toll-free number and that corporate # is 1-734-477-1100 and push option 3 and they can help out. Finally got my order in and used both codes thanks to the OP on here, which saved me a huge amount of cash.

Is it just me, or is the ISG414XP free shipping code coming up as expired?

Does the cart work for you? Every time it won't let me add anything to my cart. Their site is not ready for prime time. It says tech difficulties.

I was thinking about stunt man BD or Sands of Kalahari BD preorders. Hope this works at some point.

The cart button is not working, but if you add something to your cart, then click the button to "View Entire Cart", it works. Then just delete the item you added if you don't want it...

Thanks for the advice. I wish they had some other preorders that seem to be missing. I will try out your trick.

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

I am having issues adding pre-orders to my cart though. If the button says Add to Cart, it works fine. But if the button says Pre-Order, I get "We're Sorry, Due to technical difficulties we are unable to add this eBook to your library at this time. We apologize for this inconvenience." Of course, the item I'm trying to buy is NOT an eBook...

I can vouch for these instructions. I have not been able to access my Borders wish list or order history or account info for over 10 days. Fortunately, through a lot of frustrating trial and error, I have been able to use the coupon codes using the above procedure. And my Borders Rewards number appears during the checkout procedure, even though I had to sign in as a guest. Go figure! Also, I have been able to purchase CDs scheduled for a May 31 release. But no pre-orders for June or later releases.

Still, with recent 50% off coupons, plus my Rewards-plus additional 10% and free shipping - I can't complain too hard about their screwed up website. I get confirmation emails for all my orders and they are being filled.

This same access problem occurred several months ago - I think in February - and it was corrected after about a week. Let's hope they fix their website problems soon.

Ah, I hadn't seen SFranke's post before. Thanks for quoting it, greylocke. It confirms the problem I'm having. Oh well, no pre-orders for me tonight...

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

Just got my order in from them after three days of trying to get the item ordered, and the DVD set has a hole punctured right in the middle of the package, so now having to recall Borders corporate (since their toll-free # is BS) and get it rectified as soon as possible. Borders really has gone down the tubes!

One amendment to my method above. Referral links will work if you clear your cookies and then go through your site of choice.

Also, anyone who actually still buys CDs might be interested in the following: search music for "SMBE" and then sort by price. A lot of $5.99 albums come up. Many of them are classic recordings, not just junk no one's ever heard of. After the coupon above and the free shipping code, that's $3.59 before any tax. Several Frank Zappa albums are also available for $8 and $12 before coupons.

I have tried to (ab)use the free shipping codes by having multiple email addresses. I keep getting "you have already used this offer" on my new accounts. I tried clearing my Firefox cookies. Anybody elase have advice on reusing the free shipping?

Did you try going to the checkout page to see if you will be charged for shipping?

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

yesterday I picked up the last of my orders until a couple 7/5 releases come in.
Not counting the July titles, I had a total of 8 orders across three accounts with two different 50% coupons. None were canceled-including the pre-orders for the Superman Anthology and the Stunt Man Bd. The only problem I had was Smiles Of A Summer Night arrived with the case crushed. Fortunately they had a copy on the shelf that I was able to immediately replace it with. So ship-to-store worked out well.

This ended up taking the place of the DD summer sale for me, and the prices were a lot better than anything I can find on DD now- so I'm a very happy camper right now.

And to think I had ignored this deal until the last few hours of the last day.
