Re: November Criterion Sale
Going to have to limit myself this time. I'm thinking:
The Magician
House
I Know Where I'm Going! (or The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp) to increase my P&P collection

Re: November Criterion Sale
Today I went to B&N to reserve a few Criterion blu-rays for the sale and talked to the store manager. He told me and showed on his computer that the sale starts TOMORROW, not on Tuesday. They apparently decided not to start it on election day. The sale ends in three weeks, on 11/21.

Re: November Criterion Sale
Today my wife told me her $10 in Border Bucks would expire today, plus she gave me a 40% off coupon. I went to the local Borders picked up a Blu-ray copy of Pierrot Le Fou for $12.59.
Now that I have that taken care of I can finalize my wish list for the Barnes & Noble sale which is now starting tomorrow morning!

Re: November Criterion Sale
Sale just went active online. No coupons online already. Looks like AAA and Library is the best way to save on the web site.
Note: This item does not qualify for coupons or promotional discounts unless expressly stated.

Yes, and I noticed that $39.99 Blu-ray titles were now $19.99 as opposed to $20 last time. Does this mean we won't be able to use the $5 off $20 coupons anymore?

Re: November Criterion Sale
Just puttin' this out there.
Especially for those of you who gorge on these Criterion sales every year, you can save some coin by purchasing discounted Barnes & Noble gift cards from various online vendors. Two sites that I have purchased from lately are selling the cards at 9-10% off face value---ABC Giftcards and Cardpool. The former offers free shipping on orders over $50, the latter, free shipping on any size order. In the past when I have ordered from them, my gift cards have arrived in about a week. (Note: for some reason ABCGiftcards has "Valid instore only" on their Barnes & Noble page, but the cards I bought from them last month were certainly valid online as well. YMMV. I don't think B&N sells cards that are valid instore only).
Just sayin'.

Re: November Criterion Sale
I noticed Modern Times and Night of the Hunter are discounted for the sale, but the America Lost & Found box is not. I'm hoping I can find a store that will let me have it at 50% off.

Their site is always so freaking slow for me, just placed my first of many orders...4 down (House, Breathless, Paths of Glory, and The Darjeeling Limited) and too many to go.

That's the same as last year. The online price always goes to $19.99 for those titles. That's why the in-store coupons can be a YMMV situation but still the chance for the biggest savings.

Re: November Criterion Sale
I tried the "Library" discount mentioned in the main B&N thread, but it's asking me for a Library Name. I assume they'll verify the name before shipping anything out.
At $800, it's extremely hard to justify... to the wife.
Go for it!
