Not for shipping calculations. It takes *3* disks before a dvd is considered a "set" for shipping. *Any* selection with 1 or 2 disks ships for $2.99 if it's the first selection in your cart. Additional selections consisting of 1 or 2 disks add $1.99 each. There have been rare exceptions to this general rule mainly when the number of disks in a selection was mis-reported due to incorrect early information from the distributor. Most of these eventually get corrected.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

For some reason Night Gallery season 3 wasn't charging extra shipping, but I couldn't get it to qualify for 19.99 titles.
Oh I didn't see it was only 2 disks, unlike earlier sets.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

^That title is listed as having 1 disk (Amazon shows 2). That means regular (less than 3 disk) shipping rates apply. It's also selling for $17.97. That price is under the $19.95 *normally* required as the minimum before any "special price offer" kicks in. There *have* been glitches in the past where lower priced titles would qualify. Unless you can find the "magic" sequence this one will not.

Now that the dust has settled, wtf do I do with 500+ bonus points?

What's everyone's strategy? It seems like due to the frequency of these sales, box sets would be the best items, but they just eat up such a huge chunk of points and you still have to pay outrageous shipping charges.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

John,

I'll be sitting on 400+ once the dust settles for me and everything ships. I am thinking box sets myself, along with some more expensive, classic films, like Streetcar Named Desire.

Of course CH could do that once in a lifetime deal where they offer free shipping on bonus points purchases. In holding out some sort of blind hope they'll run a deal like that, I'll probably sit on the bulk of the points for a while.

Hell, with 70 something movies ordered, my credit card needs a serious breather (and a payment) anyway.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

If I had 500 points, I would consider using it for the James Bond Set BD set if they carry it. I only have a little over 100. I usually use them for warner or universal digibook new releases.

They never will have free shipping for bonus point purchases intentionally. In the last sale shipping was capped at 4.99 for bonus point non set purchase combined with a purchase.

I priced the Lethal Weapon set with the BPs. Shipping is $7.99. I'll do that deal in a heartbeat.

We'll see on the Bond set.

I think there is the Indiana Jones set on the horizon for 2012 too. I'd save them for that too.

You folks with a load of bonus points better post daily reminders here at the end of the year to use them. It would be a disaster to see them expire and go to waste.

Sorry but I would not count on Indiana Jones to be in there...

There is NO CHANCE of that happening. I might lose like 10.

Titanic and Singing in the Rain added. Titanic is currently only $2.99 to ship, even though it's supposed to have four discs.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

My Three Stooges set is currently on backorder, with no expected ship date. There's no reason to worry that it won't be fulfilled, right? I'd cancel it-- but it was my full-price purchase in the Buy 1 Get 19 70%-off deal.

And if they do, you would just get 19 titles at 70% off.

I know! I just wish I knew whether that was likely to happen, as I'd jump on the Best Buy price at the moment.

Purchase the BBY one and don't open it. If it's not OOP, CH is pretty likely to get it back in, but you never know with them. They might just cancel it if they don't get any in in a certain amount of time.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Ive gotten two of my four shipments so far. I expect the third later this week.

That was ALOT of boxes today lol. I found out that Columbia House has a shoebox sized package that they'll use to pack 10 movies. Always got the brick sized one.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Be aware that the "Dads and Grads" promotion they are running for select Blu-Rays at 60% off is not showing the correct prices. They are only showing as 40% off whether you are using a coupon code or not. I notified a CSR and she forwarded the info to the web dept. I was told that I can't use a coupon code and get the 60% off special price so I didn't order over the phone. I'll wait and see if the fixed price shows soon and order online hopefully with the $15 off $60 coupon code.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

They fixed the price error for "dads and grads" and it looks like coupon codes will work despite what the CSR told me.

Wondering the same thing.

Side note: got shipping notices on last weeks new releases(Journey 2 3d, Safe House). Should be here Monday.

Also, new 10% off coupon code BigScreen. I assume it works just like the SpinWin code, but this time it is giving me the actual 10%(unlike last time where most were getting 19%).

Two more BD releases have been added(2 broke Girls Season 1 & Vampire Diaries Season 3).

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Question for those that tagged the 70% off sale. Do you engage with those sales, like the two posted above (not including the one some of you murdered a few months ago)?
