Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I have a bunch of points from the previous sale. Is there any way to combine this offer and use the points to maximize savings. It seems you can only do one or the other.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I need to stop visiting this forum. Went a little crazy with a couple orders, but got some good stuff for cheap.

The thing that most caught my eye was Wings [blu] for $8.99. I don't see that one getting cheap elsewhere terribly quickly. Slightly more expensive, but cheap compared to other sources are It's a Wonderful Life and All Quiet on the Western Front.

I got it for just under 6 bucks...

Spoiler:
during the $15 off, no minimum glitch at CH.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Anyone trying to order and having issues getting the codes to be accepted? When I enter a code (20120527MUT1D or 20120524MUT1D), it just goes to a blank page. Thanks!

Yeah... I didn't break down (relapse?) and come back in here until long after that was dead.

I haven't actually placed my 2nd order... YET! So now it may be you that is talking me into doing it!
There were actually a lot of titles I couldn't squeeze into my first order due to my qualifier being too low (only $40 Club Price). With the Stooges, I can get tons of 3D titles and others, so I will likely place another order tomorrow... I'm just laying low temporarily, trying to give my credit card a breather...

Its says "4.99 Shipping & Processing," but when I add the TheThree Stooges: The Ultimate Collection the S&H jumps to $12.99. Anyone else?

Flat shipping does not apply to sets. You have to pay $7.99 s/h for that set on top of $4.99 flat shipping. That's still an awesome price considering you don't have to pay retail for a bluray if you order it plus you can take 3D titles at 70% off by ordering it plus with triple points you get 30 points total for it which is almost a free bluray.

Another thing I forgot to point out...

Example #1
The Hunger Games Blu-ray $39.95
Blade: Trinity Blu-ray $5.98
Blade II Blu-ray $5.98
Blade Blu-ray $5.98
Subtotal: $57.89
Shipping & Processing: $4.99
Total: $62.88

Example #2:
Maverick Season 1 DVD $23.97 (make sure box set is entered first, sometimes it messes up the discount if you don't)
The Hunger Games Blu-ray $11.99
Blade: Trinity Blu-ray $5.98
Blade II Blu-ray $5.98
Blade Blu-ray $5.98
Subtotal: $53.90
Shipping & Processing: $12.98
Total: $66.88 (so $4 more for an extra box set, never pay retail for a bluray)

If your highest regular price blu is $39.95, you need a box set that retails for that. I hope I explained this good enough. Just trying to help people get the most for their $$$.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Are people getting good cs from CBS these days (or even better, not needing to contact them)?

I quit awhile back because i was tired of orders being frequently messed up & CS being idiots.

Nice order.. Every one of my non preordered movies from my 2nd order is on back order. Here is to hoping you have a quicker turnaround than I seem to have.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Just now got the email confirming that this sale is running (at least) one extra day. Interesting, given that a bunch of thread regulars (at least!) are hammering this deal.*

Was pleased to see that all bonus points earned from orders placed Friday through late Monday morning were posted by Monday night.

Also, S/H behavior appears to be behaving identically on 2-disc sets as on single-disc titles, even when those sets are ordered with bonus points. In particular, such sets are covered by the $4.99 maximum shipping costs, even tho >2 disc sets are not. That makes them ideal candidates for this sale.

So for example: suppose you want 30 regular titles and 5 2-disc sets. Set A is is $23.97 (MSRP $39.99) Set B is $20.97 (MSRP $34.95), and Sets C-E are < $20. Then optimal order placement would proceed as follows:

Order 1: Set A, plus 19 titles with MSRPs

Wow, and I thought my two 20-title orders were a lot! It's gonna be fun using all those points, isn't it? No idea what to get, but to maximize the usage, I'll try to buy as many BD Sets as possible, since those never are cheap (for instance, I just redeemed $50 for Falling Skies BD). I'm going to have more points than I have ever had--I could combine my points and funcash for all 42 accounts I've had over the years, and it wouldn't add up to this much.

They won't stay on backorder. Everything but your preorders should ship today or tomorrow.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

If you use your bonus points along with another purchase during this sale, you won't be charged any additional shipping. It will not work with sets, and you probably wouldn't want to use bonus points towards an item that's already 70% off, but if there's anything excluded from the sale that you want, now's a good time to go ahead and pick it up. I just ordered the Casablanca box set, for example.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Noticed they added a few more pre-orders today(Fallen, Romeo Must Die, A Man Apart, New Jack City, Shaft and The Incredible Mr. Limpet*).

May throw a couple of these in my cart and see if I can come up with enough for one more order.

re:*TIML - never seen this before. Can anyone tell me if it is worth a blind buy. I know my wife is a Don Knotts' fan, but not sure if she has seen this or not.

edit: just received 9 titles from an order I placed a week and a half ago....

The Outlaw Josey Wales(digibook)
Papillon(digibook)
The Woman in Black
The DaVinci Code
Children of the Corn
Final Destination 3(did not care for it, but the OCD in me made me buy it )
The Grey
To Catch A Thief
The Darkest Hour 3D(actually received the 3D version(sans slip) rather than the 2D that alot of others were receiving)

What are you saying Ken lol.. I'm about to place ANOTHER order for 20, as soon as I get confirmation that we dont have the sixth season of The Closer.

I have no clue how I am going to spend all these bonus points, although I do know that I will be using some on the Lethal Weapon set. If the Indiana Jones set comes to CH, I'll buy them too.

But, I dont think I would have nearly this many orders (or the triple funcash) without all you bad influences. So thank you all (and I hate you in the same breath lol).

2-disk titles are not considered to be "sets" by CH. To be a "set" a title must have 3 or more disks (one of which can be the worthless digital copy disk).

The 2 disk tv titles are considered to be sets.
