Just got one of the three titles I have been waiting for since mid September. According to my order status one of the other two has also shipped, not that I ever got a shipping notice.

Can't wait to be done with this burning clown car of a retailer.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I received a late notice yesterday on a shipment from 3 months ago(!) that was supposedly paid up front with a CC! I checked the original shipping insert/invoice which showed $0 owed and then checked my CC statements for the past 3 months. They *never* charged the CC for the shipment! They also never sent a first notice that payment was due and wanted an additional $3 "late fee". Bull on that! I started to send a strongly worded email but when I checked online the amount due did not include the supposed "late fee" so I just paid for the order. It's already cleared the bank so I'm good... but that, and other issues, have me seriously considering if I want to even bother with them anymore as they've really gone downhill under the new owners.

Make sure it shows up on your account. I sent in a check back in Oct. and it cleared early Nov. but they have yet to adjustment my account to reflect that I sent in a payment. I also received a bill with a late charge on it late last week. I received my checking account statement yesterday and it showed the check being cleared by "Direct Brands". That is not who I made the check out to, but that it what is shown on my banking statement.

I'm good. It shows as credited on the shipment with a $0 amount due on my payment information.

Direct Brands is the holding company that owns Columbia House, Book of the Month Club, Mystery Guild, Science Fiction Book Club and a couple of others.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Not to go on about this yet again, but I once again received a random package from Columbia House the other day from the August glitch. This time it was a box of the Superman Animated Series sets. Since I have moved however, and since they ship media mail, they sent it to my former apartment and since it was then redirected to our new house I had to go to the post office to pick it up and pay the extra shipping costs of $10.

I got another thing in the mail yesterday saying they had yet ANOTHER package there waiting for me, no doubt from Columbia House. They said the last time I talked to them that they were going to go ahead and just ship everything else I ordered to finish this all off, so I'll see if it's all in this new package or if it will be a number more of future packages. This one, it says, I owe almost $17 in shipping.

I would be pissed off about this, them not changing my address and forcing me to pay these weird extra shipping costs to redirect the packages to me, but I can't really complain about it considering what I paid for all of this. I'll report back tomorrow when I get the package and see what they shipped to me this time.

I got the box, it was four of the Battlestart Galatica Complete Series DVD sets with the head and the figure. Inside they included this typed note as well...

I'm having billing problems from columbia house. They sent me an invoice for something that I paid for with my credit card last october and included a late charge. I'm not happy with them. It is on my october credit card statement.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

CH has a $6 Blu-ray Blowout Sale on select titles with free shipping. Some good titles on the list. I ended up ordering Monty Python's Meaning of Life 30th Anniversary and Pan's Labyrinth. Hopefully I'll get them before Spring.

BTW, the buy 2, get 1 promotion doesn't stack.

Free shipping is now DEAD.

I agree…customer service is a joke. They keep telling me MOS 3D has shipped but won't give me tracking information. I wonder if WB delayed this title to CH like they do for Redbox? Wow, 23 days and counting for a preorder!

Kind of shocked to find one of the items I ordered on December 1 as part of the B2G1 in the mail today! Although I'm not sure why RIPD 3D wasn't also sent (the third item was a preorder).

Got my Weird Science (BR) pre-order a mere 50 days after release day.

One more title shows up and I am free!

I did notice that if you view your order details online there are three tabs at the top of your order: Order Information (default view), Invoices, and Shipments. If you click on shipments you can see tracking numbers for items that they have shown as shipped. Now for the Columbia House factor (aka, the bad news): I cannot relate these numbers to any real world shipping company. I took numbers from items I have already received and cannot make sense from them. So ultimately they appear to be useless anyway.

WOW…so much for pre-ordering.

Thanks for the tip.

CH sent me a tracking number for the item they shipped back in October when I asked them for a tracking number for MOS 3D.

Here is the web-site they linked in their e-mail: pkgtracking.com

I have been sending 2-3 e-mails everyday asking for tracking information and they FINALLY told me what I already knew: we don't have your pre-order from September in stock! WTF! The current ship date is 12/23…that would be 42 days from release date along with 8 days to deliver and there you go 50 days. I would have canceled this order but I have received my "free" BR and god knows what they would have charged me for it.

I had two pre-orders on a B2G1 and one was delivered 9 days after the release date and MOS 3D looks to be 50 days. CH web-site doesn't show if a title is in stock or in the case of pre-orders, when the expected shipping date is.

If I can pass on one additional piece of advice to those who can't accept my first piece of advice (never do business with Columbia House again) it would be that I beg you nice people to please, please, never place an order that includes a pre-ordered title. They are utterly incapable of handling such a request. While they are terrible at a great many things, this one holds the distinction of being the simplest and yet most completely screwed up at the same time.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

To illustrate my point, earlier I sent an email asking when my title released in October would finally be shipped to me. To my surprise, they responded with a date: December 26th. WTF? How would they know that? And why not for more than two months after release? I place a pre-order in early October for a title released in October and don't get it in time for Christmas, or likely even New Years. Utterly ridiculous.

I pre-ordered Wiz of Oz 3d, along with Man Of Steel 3d and a couple of others months ago. No sign of them, so I went out and got'em elsewhere. If and/or when they decide to ship them to me, I'll just send'em right back.

If I was really desperate to get that title I would do the same thing. But two reasons why I don't:

1. I no longer trust CH to properly handle returns/credits or honestly much of anything at this point.

2. My unwatched pile is already embarrassingly large, so I can wait.

Free expedited shipping as of Friday the 13th.

I have no idea how long it will last.

The banner in my account says "Select Expedited Shipping at checkout by 12/18 at 3 p.m. to arrive by 12/24. Standard shipping rates apply."

That's what mine says too. But because they are having a "free shipping on Friday the 13th" promotion, you can choose free expedited shipping.

I just placed an order, so I can verify it worked for me.

Ah, ok. So you received free shipping and were able to upgrade to expedited at no cost as well.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Guess I'm a sucker for punishment. Despite everyone's recent warnings, I placed an order for 2 of the $6 BDs with free expedited shipping. I think that's my first order from CH in 2013.
