Well, I think maybe all the pre-release hype for the new dvd told you so, but like Johnny said about Blade Runner, it just isn't everyone's thing. Keep in mind, also, that this poll was conducted by members of the UK, with participants from perhaps the whole world. And, if that were the case, I doubt you would see it that high anyway, cause I think we Americans take that film in a little closer than they do. Am I rambling yet? Just think of how ecstatic Italy was with Benigni's Pinochoi remake. It's cause the author was from the same country.... (not to be narrow minded or anything....)

Beginning earlier this year, Fox chose to make Sunrise available as a special, mail-in offer only for those who'd bought three of there Studio Classics releases. Info is here; the mail-in coupon is enclosed with each Studio Classics release. So far, the offer is only available to those in North America (excluding Quebec).

On October 14th, Fox will be releasing Studio Classics: The Best Picture Collection, which will contain All About Eve, Gentleman's Agreement, How Green Was My Valley, and Sunrise , retailing for about $50. (For a possible bargain, you might check out this thread.) I have heard that Costco is already selling this set--or one very similar (maybe through some special agreement with Fox).

Most of us expect Fox to release Sunrise individually sometime in 2004.

For those in Region 2, Eureka Video [UK] has announced that they'll be releasing Sunrise in January.

It is truly a great film. I highly recommend it.

I can verify the Costco deal. $35 for the four movies you listed. Although they don't have the box that picture shows. It's just the four movies packaged together. That's fine with me as I don't plan on stopping with these four and then what would I do with the box?

Not only does Costco already have this set out for about $35 (with Sunrise packed in) they also have the set I bought, Ghost and Mrs. Muir, Anastasia, Inn of the Sixth Happiness, and Sunrise. I think they may have a third set (appears so on the packaging at least) but I've never seen it in stock.

Not all movies appeal to all people but I for one don't own Blade Runner because I'm waiting for the SE that's been rumored forever.

Yes, that SE... I've been waiting for that for too long. What's really horrible is the fact that Ridley is so bankable right now. And, supposedly, he's on good terms with Harrison Ford. So why can't they both throw some pull into it, so WB can finally wake up? I mean, it's his most purchased movie at Amazon.com. Isn't that saying anything? Anyway, I realize it's not for everyone, but still....
