I was anxious at first, but it actually wasn't that bad. I adjust the three wingnuts to the right height and that's it. The official HS20 mount is really expensive (200-300 I think) I had most of these parts just lying around and decided to save a few bucks. Its well worth it.

You'll love them, I promise

Hey on those racks that PRYMAL has, how do they come when you order them or pick them up. I don't live near a IKEA store and shipping is about $114. I have a friend coming from DC soon to my place in NC and the plan was that he would pick it up for me, but Im not sure if the box would fit in a Honda Accord Station Wagon which he drives. So I was just wondering if anyone had any expeirence picking some up from a store and have a approxamate box measurement or any other information that could help.

Thanks.

They are the width of the Case ( i dont remember the measurements, and like 4-5inches tall... I am not sure how big the vehicle is but since there just as wide and a little taller than the actually case, need a big car or a roof mount.

Next weekend I'm going to pick them up in Houston. I'll let you know just how large they are. My guess is they're at least 80" tall. We're going to use my wife's Altima that has fold down seats - I have them too, but I have a Kenwood Keg mounted on the back of one of them.

Here's one for REL and prymal - what does the back anchor look like? I'm gonna have mine against the wall and on carpet, and bookcases are notorious for leaning.

.

Since they are so tall, they actually come with a wall mounting thing, a stabilizer that works great. I have mine on carpet and up against the wall and using the mount, it is perfect flat against it. If my Digital Camera wasnt currently of of commision, I would take a pic for you, but I cant. They came free with mine. I had them up against it with out it on carpet for the first six months and it still sat pretty well, but I had all my heavy stuff on the bottom. They are very sterdy

Also, guys I was wondering if the glass doors are clear. There are a couple of Billy cabinets that show the clear glass doors but the ones that cost $80 that u can attach to the cases we are talking about above dont seem to be clean in the picture. Im looking at the grey metallic ones. Any one buy any of these and vouch for them?

I believe they make them in clear and the kind that you cant see through (cant think of the correct term). I have a set of the ones you can see through, and love them, everyone comments on how nice they look. They also make a solid half wood door if that is what you want as well... The Billy line is Ikeas best selling bookcases I have been told by many of Ikea employees, and said they will not discontiue it

Those IKEA bookcases look really nice. It's too bad they won't ship to Hawaii. Even then the price would be horrific . Maybe next time I go to the mainland I can find a way around it.

Anywho, a lot of cool setups shown. Love the pics.

i actually bought 6 of them. 2 metallic grey for the living room and 4 birch for the office (my gf is a 5th year english literature phd student and has a ton of books). from memory, they're about 81" long, 32" wide and 3.5" high. i do recall they were pretty heavy though... and carrying them up to the third floor wasn't any fun. my friend has a full-size pickup, so there weren't any issues transporting them. i wouldn't think they'd fit into an accord station wagon, however.

It's a tad under 9' wide. The TV is a Samsung 46" DLP, but has a 40.5" footprint. The stand is right at 40" so it's a pretty good fit. We bought the wall unit from these guys.

I thought Graham kind of looked like a mogwai in that photo. That's one of our corgis.

A dumb question about the Ikea Billy Bookcase. It's 11" deep and a keepcase is about half as deep. What are you going to do with the other half of empty space? Do you stick a spacer at the back so that the DVDs are lined up at the front of the bookcase? Or do you stick the DVDs to the back of the bookcase and put small collectibles/toys/photo frames in front of them?

Who needs a rack when you can have the challenge of removing 1 dvd outta there without creating a ruckus?

Ok. I'll start out by listing the equipment first.

Panasonic CT-34WX53 34" Widescreen HDTV Monitor
Panasonic XP30 DVD Player
Onkyo TX-SR501 Receiver
JBL NSP1II Speaker System
Sony WM-40 Subwoofer
Nintendo Gamecube

Everything posted above except for the Gamecube and the Subwoofer was bought in the last month.

Here is just a part of all the DVD's I own. The rest of them are stored in the closet. Not a very big fan of visitors seeing how many DVD's I own.
