How much would The Jungle Book steelbook sell for, case only and no discs? I assume it's long gone OOP? Someone wants to buy mine, but I've got no idea what to ask for it. It's still sealed (though shrinkwrap gone at the spine as it came side by side to the Disney DVD). Its spine is blank with no title too, I assume they all were like that?

Black Lagoon: Season 1 Collection due out on 12/30/08 (some have it on the 29th).
Contains episodes 1-12.
DVD Features: Red Fraction Music Video, Behind-the-Scenes Documentary on the English Production, Clean Opening and Closing, Promo Videos, DTS 5.1 English Audio.
Spoken Languages: English, Japanese, English subtitles.
For those interested, the SteelBook cases being used for this release appear to be a new batch. The FUNimation logo is present on the back of the case itself, above the Geneon logo, and the small print at the bottom of the back also includes FUNimation's name. While, like others, I would've imagined a fair number of SteelBook cases from the original volume 1 LE release being left over, I guess those involved had decided it was better or simply necessary to commission a whole new batch of cases. Other than FUNi's logo and name, the case is the same as the original.
Stickied onto the backside is a sheet with screencaps, a summary (that interestingly covers specifically the events of the first two episodes, rather than a summary of the entire season, or the general series premise), credits, and all the other usual stuff, also with dual mentions of Geneon and FUNimation.

i'm really surprised there haven't been any major announcements for upcoming SteelBooks™. it seems like December was the loaded month and now we will be in a dry spell...

yep, im reasoning that studios and retailers think they have over-saturated the market, so they are cutting back a bit. bittersweet imho.

Any chance adding the released/release date of the steelbooks? Looks like 2008 was the record breaking release year for steelbook packaging in North America?

So, Xage..
Where did you end up getting your copy after all? I was going to get mine at Best Buy, but heard they didn't seem to have the third disc. I thought to try FYE, but I want to make sure before opening it. So where do I get such a cool exclusive like yours?..Thanks

Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence (LE)...not the best quality shots, but you should get the idea of what it looks like.

It's my copy. I would have gotten it sooner if a certain holiday wasn't in the way. Regardless, this release (and the two other variants) has some issues. Bandai Ent. just didn't do a stellar job on this release (especially with the Blu-ray). Your experience may vary (depending on your setup)...

Maybe xage can confirm this, but it appeared to me as though he contacted them about the lack of the third disc and they not only sent him the third disc, but a lot of bonus stuff as well.

In any case, this thread goes into depth of what's wrong with the Blu-ray release (in particular of the video quality and the lack of lossless audio). The biggest problem with the two DVD releases (plus the Blu-ray release) was the UK dub. It was completely messed up. From the looks of it, the movie didn't converted from PAL format properly and the result is that voices are slower and lower pitched than they should be.
So for the DVD viewers (regular or LE SteelBook), the UK dub issue may not matter, but YMMV.

The Future Shop down the street from where I work had a number of their steelbooks from the past few months (some going back as far as over a year ago) on sale during Boxing Week (last check was yesterday when they still had quite a few). They had stuff like Fantastic Four 2, Die Hard 4, Grindhouse, Godfather Trilogy, Spiderman 3 and some more that have slipped my mind. Just thought you guys might wanted to know.
