Re: Sign my DVD please? (merged)

So has anyone framed any of there DVD covers? I have a few I want to do and not sure how to go about it. I'd like to frame the cover with the disc & insert. Should I go the shadowbox route or trust a framing company with my precious Spielberg autographs?

If you do trust a framing company make sure you insure the sigs.

Shadowboxing might be the best route.

There are collectible insurance agencies around that will insure your collectibles (autographs, baseball cards, art, comics etc...) not sure about the cost of this, but Spielberg sigs are probably worth the cost. I guess just try to google it. If you have home owners insurance you might be able to add them on to your policy as well.

Re: Sign my DVD please? (merged)

I think I have a few new ones - need to go through and see what I've already posted though! Here are some of my most recent:

I thought these were neat because Robert Rodriguez was so into seeing the region 2 boxset that he stopped what he was doing and started looking through it with Rose, then took out his camera to take pictures of it.

And, while not a DVD cover (it's a 13x17" poster), it's definitely one of my favorites!

I'm a huge fan of the series! The background used on these pictures is actually a 6 ft x 10 ft. vinyl banner from Extinction (the rare kind! )

A few more - I thought I added these before but couldn't find them looking back a few pages..

Some of them are a little 'foggy' looking since I didn't take the plastic sleeve off all of them (usually once you take it off, the adhesive is no longer good)

I know I have a few more - I just can't think of which ones :-\

The closest I have is a framed laserdisc cover for "Forrest Gump" signed by 4 cast members along with Zemekis.

At least the clear plastic of the case offers some protection on my signed DVDs. I have around 40 signed ones with only a few snappers or slipcovers signed.

Is it safe to assume those that have more than a handful of autographs, like posted on this page, live in or around LA?

They were at Comic Con this year doing a panel and signing for Red Sonja

I had a few RR movies, a few Grindhouse releases (Planet Terror/Deathproof steelbooks, Planet Terror/Deathproof Slipcovers, Grindhouse 6 disc set and the Grindhouse book), but security said to not bring any personal items out as they were only signing mini-posters for Red Sonja... Figured I'd ask anyways and they were great about it (only asked them to sign the grindhouse boxset, so as not to hold up the line).

Very jealous am I of that signed Extinction poster.
That's my favorite! Met Milla and the rest at Comic Con 2007 - they had a very limited signing (~20 people), tickets were given out through a raffle that was not advertised, and the signing was done in a closed room - first time I've seen a signing like that at Comic Con. I was able to get the poster signed as well as 8x10's of Milla and Ali larter.

Sorry for being late with these....

I just realized I never posted the pics of signed DVDs from Comic-Con '08. I was hoping to get more Ken Foree but he was late and I didn't have much wiggle-room to wait. He'll be there next year as always.

Lori Petty signed "Tank Girl"... she's just as quirky as one would think.

Added Bill Moseley to go with Sid Haig. Hoping to add more.

Added Charlotte Helmkamp to "Frankenhooker" to go with Director Frank Henenlotter. She was VERY nice. Now I just need Patty Mullen

The Ladies of "The Evil Dead" (Betsy Baker, Sarah York, Ellen Sandweiss) signed my Ultimate Collection. They were very nice and quite the bargain at $10 for all 3.

Dukes Of Hazzard Season 1, signed by John Schneider:

Evil Dead Book Of The Dead, signed inside by Bruce Campbell:

I pointed out that it must be a refreshing change from "Laverne & Shirley" and "American Graffiti" stuff she sees all the time. She agreed, and after she signed it, she said, "Oh, I should have written something dirty on it!" and added the "XXX" on it. She said she kept the "flipping the bird" hat from the film but had lost track of it. She was a great sport about it and very sweet. Some more from my collection:

Ghostbusters 2-pack, signed by Ernie Hudson:

(I felt terrible after realizing that his is the ONLY significant name NOT listed on the box.)

Gremlins, signed by Jackie Joseph (Sheila Futterman):

(She only recently learned her character had a first name!)

Happy Days Season 2, signed by Tom Bosley and Erin Moran:

House Of 1000 Corpses, signed by Sid Haig and Bill Mosely:

(Also have Devil's Rejects, but we've already seen a few of those)

Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, signed by Kevin Smith and Bryan Johnson:

Killer Klowns From Outer Space, signed by the Chiodo Brothers:

Leprechaun, signed by Warwick Davis:

I'm The One That I Want/Notorious C.H.O., signed by Margaret Cho:

M*A*S*H, signed by Elliot Gould and Gary Burghoff:

Pinocchio, signed by Dickie Jones, uncredited voice of Pinocchio:

Re: Sign my DVD please? (merged)

Freaks and Geeks signed by Paul Feig
Futurama signed by Billy West, John Di Maggio, and Maurice LaMarche
Spaced the complete series signed by Edgar Wright, Jessica Hynes, and Simon Pegg
Hot Fuzz signed by Edgar Wright and Nick Frost
and my favorite: Death Bed: the Bed That Eats signed by Patton Oswalt ("You struck gold!" he wrote)

I always bring dvd sleeves with my to be signed at comic con and wonder con, but often times they wont let you bring in your own stuff to be signed. I have several posters signed by whole casts (Superbad, Pineapple Express, 30 Days of Night, Grindhouse, and more that i cannot think of.)
