Lucas confirms that Young Indy's coming in late '05 or '06.

The Bits is reporting that at C3 Lucas confirmed that the Young Indy Chronicles series is in production for DVD for a late 2005 or 2006 release.

This is one of the DVD sets at the top of my "Must Have" list, along with the Lowry Digital restored James Bond films.

I'm looking forward to this since I didn't get a chance to see these shows when they were on TV. I plan to buy em all. Hopefully just 1 set.

Lowry is doing all the original 007s? All or just some?

I will buy them all....but have a feeling we will have to wait for an Indy 4 tie in.

A year ago this thread... Young Indiana Jones Chronicles News was reporting on some of the special features being recorded. I hope late 05 is true, but i am skeptical.

All of them (the core 20, anyway). Actually, I think he's already finished.

The WWI episodes were pretty darn good. "Trenches of Hell", "Attack of the Hawkmen", and "Phantom Train of Doom" were especially good episodes.

I plan to buy em all. Hopefully just 1 set.
Editted all together, there'd be 22 feature length episodes. Or 44 "one hour" deals. So I could possibly see the series released in two volumes. Either that or the entire set for a SRP of around $99.98 or more.

I think they're doing all of them (visually) up to and including Die Another Day, and they're remastering all the old mono and 2.0 stereo tracks to 5.1 tracks.

I was sitting in one of the McCallum presentations Saturday, he gave no timeline for release to our group, but he said they're taking forever because they're getting every single episode ready for release.

Well, I can imagine as there's quite a bit there to do. Basically 44 episodes that probably needed to be remastered in HD and/or restored. Hopefully they'll be in 5.1 as well. Wonder if they were done in 16:9 or just 4:3 as was their presentation on the twelve 1999 VHS releases.

Fingers crossed that these are the original television episodes and not the truncated "movie" versions. The editing on some of those were horrendous (bad Voiceovers too).

I hope this is one or two huge boxed sets rather than individual releases. One wonders how Lucasfilm will compile them - by filming/air date or chronologically.

I imagine chronologically. There was a 'thing' a few years back when they released them all on VHS, and they were all given volume numbers so that you had all the young indy's, followed by Temple, then Raiders, then Crusade, and then a final young indy (wasn't there one with Harrison Ford?)

Yes, he makes a cameo appearance at the beginning and end of "Mystery of the Blues" as a framing device. It's available on VHS.

Well, since I mentioned this in this thread, I'll go ahead and add this tidbit to the discussion.

Regarding the new James Bond movie...

Just saw a brief Fox News report that Pierce Brosnan will indeed in fact return for the role in the 21st Bond film "Casino Royale". Apparently all the actors that have tried out for the role have fallen through. The main co-star has pretty much confirmed the news.
