No, they don't. And based on prior history, they won't.

Actually Amazon.ca just honored a huge misprice (a $100 (USA) book for $12 (CA)). I know Amazon.com frequently backs out, but you never know.

When you put it in your cart the price goes up to 149.98. Still a good price if you ask me.

Not for me...I just received my confirmation email...

Shipping & Handling: CDN$ 4.94
------
Total before tax: CDN$ 33.81
Applicable Taxes: CDN$ 5.08
------
Total for this Order: CDN$ 38.89

** Edit ** I just checked and the list price has been changed to $149.99. However, my account still lists the old price and total stated above...we'll see I guess.

Amazon.ca has fixed the price now to a whopping $244 canadian and changed the title to remove any mention of how many discs it is. Now, we just have the long wait to see if it goes through.

Digital Eyes has it up for pre-order at $144.95
http://www.digitaleyes.net/details.c...info=FXD031290

Digital Eyes Coupons EXP 8/15:
4TH2005 $7 off $75 Order
JULY2005 $5 off $60 Order
PREJUL2005 $10 off $125 Order

Recent complete series prices on eBay range from $160 to $250 for used sets.

I would only get this to conserve shelf space, so I'll wait to see what the package looks like.

FWIW, I agree that re-releasing entire sets with new bonuses is generally a bad business practice and a great way to insult the loyal fans who've bought each individual release. BUT, at least in this case, the complete set is at a steep discount and affordable for fans to sell their prior sets in order to pick up.

I think Digital Eyes' deal is pretty good, but I was nervous about being able to sell my sets reasonably. I have to report, though, that I've sold seasons 3, 4, 6, & 7 in less than 24 hours online at or above $30 each. So, the good news is that demand appears to still be good for the season sets if you act now.

I checked out Ebay - at least at this point, the thought of selling all seasons together doesn't look like it's getting as quick (or as profitable) a response.

Received an email saying that my order was cancelled because the item is no longer being produced. (Form letter since we know that's not true...)

Oh well, I guess I'll keep my original season boxes.

The box looks exactly the same as my R2 set, only with different graphics.

I'm guessing the seasons stack vertically inside the box like the R2 set? I think I might stick with my season sets then.

I am seriously considering picking this up. Couple things though.. I've never seen an episode of it, and if I do get it, it's the debate of online purchase for possibly cheaper but hassle of return if a disc is bad or instore purchase.

My wife said she saw it a few times and it was good, and I am totally in love with Firefly.. AND $140 is a damn good price for seven seasons of a show...

I'd be all over this if I didn't already buy all 7 individual seasons. If you love Firefly, you owe it to yourself to pick this up (and Angel).

I am not a fan of Buffy but that is a very sweet looking boxset, what does the region 2 box set look like? I want to see which graphics are better...

As long as that packaging fits height-wise on my shelf, it looks fine. For anyone who has the R2 edition: what is the height of that box, compared to a normal-sized DVD?

I posted pics of my R2 set on the first page of this thread, but here they are again. The DDD pic indicates it will probably be pretty much the same (without the widescreen versions and "previouslies" of course)

I will measure it when I get home. It's not that much taller than a standard DVD case.

Ugh. Looks like crap compared the R2 version which looks alot nicer on a shelf. I know I will still buy it...but god, what the hell were they thinking? The R2 atleast makes it look like a 'prop' of some kind, the R1 release makes it look a box of cereal.

I don't think it looks that bad with how it looks like blood dripping down. But I would have liked something more horizontal so that I knew for sure it would fit on my shelves. Like a big box with 20 2-disc thinpaks.

Yeah, I would buy that kind of packaging. As far as the type of box that is being released, I like the looks of the R2 one better.
