I didn't see any ownership, either. It was just a stack of wood next to the RR tracks. I had to have a log from where Laura was murdered. I figured it was providence.
I visited the "sign", too. The people across the street were sure wondering what I was doing setting up a tripod and video camera but I had to get myself walking into frame and standing at the exact spot of the Twin Peaks sign. Plus, I was there in Feb-March so it was even the right time frame. The trees in the background still matched and Mt Si stood majestically.
The most impressive was the Great Northern/Snoqualmie Falls. Beautiful falls. Only place from the pilot I didn't hit was the beach where her body washed up. If I recall, that took a ferry trip up to Puget Sound and I never got around to it. I also didn't want to visit any of the actual houses, like Laura's. Since those were actual people's houses I felt it was too invasive. Ronette's bridge seemed too dangerous to walk, so I just photographed it. One neat thing was the Sheriff's office was actually the main office of the Packard Sawmill. Two birds with one stone. I finished up the day at the RR Diner (Tweeds) with cherry pie and coffee. Still have the mug.

So I've finished the first season and am now 2 or 3 episodes into the second. So far...meh. Too many of the characters just look way to similar to each other and I'm not feeling some of the stories. Agent Cooper is easily the best character on the show.

I watched the whole Season in one day. It took me two weeks to get up the power to watch a few episodes of Season 2. I'm not sure why - I enjoyed must of what I saw, but there was not enough hook to keep me in the 'holy shit what happens next!' mode that other TV on DVDs (blind buys) have. I'll still watch the whole show because I do find it interesting, I just don't see the huge appeal it had. I'd take Season 2 of Lost of this.

I get your criticism, but do remember that this show was made almost 20 years ago and was very groundbreaking at the time (this was back in 1990 & 1991, and there were no other series on TV even remotely like it back then, and that's including the series that were then on channels like HBO and Showtime). But since then, there have been a number of shows with similar high production values and distinctive stylistic touches as well as mind-bending storylines, so Twin Peaks wouldn't seem all that special if viewed for the first time now.

So I was looking over some of the Ebay auctions for the postcards that came in the first batch of Gold Box sets and was stunned by these completed ones:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=370288053220
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=320446723285
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=370288031861
On three cards alone this seller made 600 bucks!!! And these aren't even the special limited edition postcards either, just the regular ones. That's just crazy. Especially considering that the postcards are just screen caps from the TV show printed on flimsy cardboard. People must be desperate to complete their collections.

Not sure if those were really rare or what, but searched other finished auctions and all others ended waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay below those prices.

Might have to see what mine are going for... I mean, I like 'em and all but if I got anywhere near $600 for all of mine I'd be stoked.

I think it was a perfect ending. Completes the series better than I ever imagined he would.

Re: Twin Peaks: The Definitive Gold Box Edition (The Complete Series)
I know I'm resurrecting a long dormant thread, but I was watching my gold box last night and came across a problem with disc 4. I selected the first episode, and then I get the screen to turn the log lady intro on or off. Only nothing happens. The disc doesn't freeze, but there's no little pointer to move around to choose anything, so I can't actually launch the episode. Play all works fine, however.
Wasn't there a replacement disc program for this set?
Also, heard something lately that I didn't know (assuming it's true). If there had been a season 3 of Twin Peaks, it could have led to an Audrey Horne spin-off series. Lynch was far enough along with the idea that the basic story from that series found its way into the script for Mulholland Drive.
