How did I not hear about that?! I guess from never having seen the show! I better check my bank funds tomorrow. I want to buy this set really soon.

He plays a DEA not an FBI agent. Great to see nevertheless... still, he's playing a goverment guy, and Twin Peaks did opened the way for X Files.

On topic: I can't wait to get this
Off topic: Is the Ethan VanSciver who is posting the comic artist who illustrated some of the Grant Morrison X-Men run. Just curious since I know Jamie Rich is also on this board.

Asking again:

What bonus features are on discs 2-9? Disc 1 is the pilot. Disc 10 is bonus features. Disc 9 supposedly has some deleted scenes.

What bonus features and content will I be missing that isn't on the previous season sets if I just manage to get my hand on Discs 1 and 10?

And exactly how do we know this is the Mr. Van Sciver? I mean, he'd be too busy drawing highly detailed covers for GL and other DC books to post here, right?

Though, it's nothing a sketch of Rogue wouldn't clear up.

Back OT...just got done placing my order at B&N. When all was said and done, the total was $33 dollars with "free 3 business days or less" shipping (which is what I paid for s2 at Costco!). I don't think i'll be getting rid of my s1 set - even if they were still going for outrageous prices.

i never liked when they include those on any tv show set. Because for the most part it feels like (i just watched that a minute ago, why am i seeing this again?)

Yeah...I like them though, because they give you a quick glimpse of the prior scenes that will be relevant to the upcoming episode. They should be optional though, like the HBO dvds.

Haha, that's cool. That was actually my question, which I edited because I glanced on your profile and saw North Carolina. Didn't know you lived there.

Anyway, your art kicks @ss. I actually think you signed a comic or two of mine sometime ago. Well, very cool (if it is you, and I think it is ).

I did not see this advertised in any B&M in today's paper. Any idea what the lowest B&M price might be?

sadly the lowest B&M price seems to be $99.95.

Looks like Amazon.com has the best deal right now

Disc 9 contains four (very short) deleted scenes and a photo gallery of production documents.

That's all you'll miss. There are no extras (other than Log Lady intros) on discs 2 through 8.

Once again the B&M stores are putting the screws to us, if we want the set in hand tomorrow we have to pay $100 for the set. I am going to be patient on this one and order it from Amazon, they seem to be the only one who has a decent price.

If only I could forget. About 7 people in the entire country have gotten their hands on this. I, unfortunately, am not one of them.

I like when they're included as a separate option, even though I pretty much never watch them. I don't like when they are included as part of the show since I end fast forwarding past them.

I wish they were included here. The S2 "next on" segments were unique little works of their own.

I heartily agree! This is a terrible loss. I loved these things because they were sly works of art unto themselves. Some of featured the most random little nuggets from that seemd so inessential to the plot ... or were they???

They are quite hilarious at times, and it is a loss not to have them, not to mention close yourself off to them by fast-forwarding through them.

If you have Season 1 from Artisan you have them, so give them a whirl on their own to see what I mean.

FYI No signs of Twin Peaks set at either Target or Walmart. The local Best Buys in the area are not showing it on stock either. Gonna try FYE shortly and see what they have, right now it looks like Amazon and next day delivery for me!

Yes, the Season 2 "Next On"s were particularly interesting because they were just photo stills overlayed with dialogue from the upcoming episode...so you'd spend a week wondering about the significance of the stills you just saw and how they fit into the upcoming episode....

Except on the Ugly Better S1 set. Previously-on segments included new footage.

Is there supposed to be a booklet of any kind with this? Mine just had the postcards and coffee card. There's no episode descriptions or credits on the package at all. Heck, even the old laserdisc boxes had those!

And I'm doing a happy dance for the lack of prevouslies.

Nope, just the cards and a flyer for Lynch's coffee.

Merci beaucoup.

By the way, for anyone who hasn't opened (or bought) theirs yet, I'd advise cutting through the plastic seal on the envelope containing the cards with an exacto knife. It looks like it'll peel off easily enough, but then halfway through it takes part of the paper with it. Goes from mint condition to damaged in about five seconds.

Can't say I'm all that impressed with the packaging. But then, it's not fair that this reissue comes on the same day as the 'My So-Called Life' reissue. Almost anything else would look cheap next to that.

Gotta say; it's gonna be depressing tossing those once-valuable Twin Peaks laserdisc box sets down the trash chute tonght. At least used stores will still take the old MSCL DVDs.
