Well given the crappy artwork and the fact that they failed to carry over all the extras from the S1 set, I guess I'll have to create my own custom set. My plan is to replace discs 2 & 3 with the 4 discs of the S1 set and then make 2 custom covers - a 5-disc cover for S1 and an 8-disc cover for S2 + FWWM. A nice spanning spine image should really make it come alive. Too bad Paramount couldn't have saved me some time by doing it right in the first place.

Sounds like you got a bad copy. I have a Toshiba SD-2107U (made in 1998!) and the pilot plays just fine.

Woohoo, got the Duchovny In Drag postcard! Anyone get any of the 'rare' ones?

You can see the entire list here:

http://www.greetingsfromtwinpeaks.co...tcard-list.pdf

Some 'gold foil' and autographed cards. Whole concept seems kinda silly since it's next to impossibly to complete these sets (unless you have a whole lotta money to spend...)

Yeah - what's up folks? Several people have asked questions that have gone completely unanswered by other who own the set and are comparing notes about some silly postcards. Can one of you please answer our questions? Thanks!

By the sound of it, except for the last DVD, this set blows. Most of the S1 and S2 extras seem missing. If they ever just release the pilot DVD, I'm going to just nab that and call it a night with my separate S1 and S2 sets.

I'm considering doing exactly the same, but I honestly wonder if they'll ever break out the pilot as a separate release? I suspect it'll show up sometime in some region. Also considering the possibility that this might get an HD release at some point. Hopefully Netflix will have the new set up soon, and I can just rent the pilot for that next viewing of the series.

What extras from the S2 set were dropped?

Oh and btw, for those of you looking for a great deal on this why not wait for the DeepDiscount 20% Off sale which - assuming they follow tradition - will probably kick off this Thursday. They have the Gold Box priced at an already low $63.99, so with an additional 20% off that comes to $51.19. If someone knows of a better deal than that, please let me know.

Here is a breakdown of the postcards:

There are 61 different basic postcards

-There are 7 different gold foil parallel postcards (These 7 are repeats from the basic set with the only difference being a gold border on the card)
There are 560 cards total. 1 for every 107 boxes.

-Gold foil parallel postcards signed by David Lynch (Lynch signed all 7 gold foil parallel postcards 8 times each)
There are 56 postcards total. 1 for every 1,072 boxes.

-Wildcard postcard (This is a postcard of David Lynch)
There are 80 postcards total. 1 for every 750 boxes.

-Wildcard gold foil postcard (Same as above only with the gold border)
There are 35 postcards total. 1 for every 1,714 boxes.

-Wildcard gold foil postcard signed by David Lynch
There are 4 postcards total. 1 for every 15,000 boxes

Here is a great thread over at Dugpa.com where people are listing what postcards they got and starting to do trades:

Thanks for that info. I'll have to zip over there when I get a free moment. Trading's good, but what about those of us who might want the entire set?

It's gonna be tough. Keep an eye on eBay as some postcards have already been listed.

What I did was use my mastercard on Barnes & Noble.com. I inputted my B&N reward number and used a coupon code that got me 50% off because I used my Rewards card along with a MC. I got it for $31.99 with free expedited shipping (I also went through ******.com to bn.com, which got me an extra 4% off, which means I got it for $30.72, in the end). BTW, the coupon code is P7N6J9K, and it expires 11/11/07, I believe.

You can PM me if you want to know what ******.com is (curse the stupid greedy capitalist-driven, First Amendment stomping censorship on this site!).

Great question!

Also, I wouldn't count on any current DeepDiscount price lasting until the 20% sale. They might, but they easily might not.

could anyone comment on whether the the transfers for season 2 are the same as previously released or different (and/or better?).

dvdfile seems to indicate that they are different but could anyone confirm it please?

I can't exactly confirm it, but when CBS/Paramount released the second season set, they must have known that they were going to release a full series set. So it seems that it wouldn't have been efficient for them to do two different transfers of the second season. I mean really, there was only 6 months between the second season release and the complete series.

Also, just because I'm SO proud of it. I have to post some screen grabs of my appearance on the DVD. It's my DVD debut!

I'm totally impressed with the set. The quality of hte video (especially the pilot) is great, and its got some very well put together special features.

Love the content. The only thing I would've liked would have been non-shitty packaging. For a show like this, I'm surprised they didn't come up with something really nice with a book or something like that.
