So I watched my first MOH movie last night, a whole bunch of them are on watch it now for netflix so I just chose first on the list, which happened to be Jenifer. Wow, all I can say is I'm very happy I could see what was going to happen before it did so I could turn the other way, so I did watch most of it, but there were parts where I just watched my moms face get all squinted and her saying ew repeatedly. I did read reviews where people said it was the most graphic, so my question for people who have watched a lot of these is, is that the case I just happened to pick the most graphic and sick one, or are all of them like this and I should just delete them from my list now?

I know it would probably be difficult, but not impossible. I was thinking about the movies I'll be watching this month and figured it'd be easy to go through the Friday the 13th series and from Freddy vs. Jason to the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, transitioning into more Wes Cravens stuff and so on.

Kind of a 6 degrees of horror movies challenge... Just food for thought, I don't think I'm tying myself down like that...at least not this year.
I think I may do this, although I guess Im going to have to try and find something for my first 2. Anyone know off hand any link between Hostel and Urban Legend (either than they both arent very good)?

I was bored so I just searched the credits of both films. I'll never do that for you again by the way, quite boring work.

The only thing in common that I could find was that they were both distributed by the same company........ in Argentina.

obviousily you haven't seen 'Imprint' now that a sick puppy of a film.

there's one murder in 'Cigarette Burns' that was shocking in it's explicitness, the MPAA would have had clipped out in a seconds time.

I think I noted that the August Underground DVD's were pulled off of Netflix' website.

Shouldn't both these threads be sticky?

I was wondering the same thing. If we all just update our existing posts, these threads will end up on Page 20 or soemthing by Halloween. ;-)

I requested the list thread to be a sticky, but I haven't seen it bumped up to being one.

If I'm not mistaken, these threads weren't made stickies last year either. Hopefully that will be rectified this time around.

If not, I think they'll stay near the top anyway. I'm pretty OCD, so I'll be updating and bumping as needed.

They weren't. And believe me, I've tried to get them stickied in the past.

Who do we "talk to" to get them stickied?

I actually think that threads get more exposure when they are not stickied.

Many people ignore the multiple stickied threads at the top of most forums, but quickly see the ones that are frequently getting bumped back towards the top.

I think we'll get more exposure by occasionally slipping to page two and then getting bumped back up, than by staying in a static spot.

Now, if no one cares about the threads getting exposure, but simply wants them stickied to make it easier to find yourself, I suggest one or all of the following.

Adding your post as a link in your sig.
Subscribing to the thread and getting the emails.
Adding them to your favorites.

3 of the 4 last movies I just watched dealt with "Killer Hands" (The Hand,Idle Hands,Mad Love) and the arrangment wasn't intentional. I've just been watching whatever's been coming on TV and it was crazy to see back-to-back films like that. Wonder If I'm gonna run into another one of those "connections" again soon.

I tried to enjoy some last night, but then suddenly realized it was the kind that emits a noxious fume from a toxic chemical known as diacetyl, that when nuked and inhaled can lead to a disorder known as "Popcorn Lung" (bronchiolitis obliterans)! Doesn't that sound like the perfect plot for a horror film? Anyway, looks like it's time to dig out the old trusty Presto hot air popper and enjoy popcorn the slow and time-consuming (albeit better, IMO) way.

dvdtalk saved my job...

Seriously i know this is off topic but for the past couple of weeks i been contemplating leaving my job. then I started the october challenge with my guys from my job and have chilled them out giving them something to focus on and behave so they can continue marathon movie watching.

I work in a group home for about 16 hours a day with some rather unstable people to put it nicely...and its amazing how good everythings been for the last two days bc it just put everyone in high spirits with the holiday coming up. so everyones been on good behavoir so they can help decorate everyday and watch movies. we will see how long this lasts however for the time being im enjoying it...

lol thnx to whoever came up with this idea

Sorry Darth Maher, I can't help you. It's possible. I had never heard of it before but found it while browsing through the Redbox titles and thought I'd give it a shot to start off the challenge. It is listed on imdb.com

Rewatched Friday the 13th tonight. It cracked me up how Mama Vorhees spent the day like a commando on amphetamines: hiding under beds, stealthily cutting throats, moving the dead bodies of full-grown men.

Then in her final battle with the lone survivor? She starts out with a series of bitch-slaps, rolls around & bites a forearm, gets knocked down with half-an-oar. Then just stands there as a skinny chick runs 20 feet at her with an axe.

Makes me wonder if they were just setting up a sequel...

I'm in. I set a goal of 31, but it's day 2 and I've watched 6 movies so far so perhaps I shall surpass that, who knows. I'm excited.

It also cracks me up how she becomes such a chatterbox during the last murder only.

For the 1900s, I'm thinking films featuring Quasimodo included Alice Guy's Esmeralda (1906),or The Hunchback (1909) would be fun.

I can find information on these films, but I can't find the actual films on the net or on DVD in my limited searching.

I figured someone in this thread is bound to have something for me.
sorry I don't have any news re: your search, have you found out anything further from researching it online. I was going to check my copy of The Movies Begin - A Treasury of Early Cinema, 1894-1913 - but I kind of forgot, sorry, but I assume it's probably not on it. Curious to know how your seach is going.

I have three different collections of early early films, including that one. But it does not contain any horror pre 1920 or so if I recall. I found the 1910 Frankenstein online easily, and other early films, but no horror pre-1910 so far.

I'll keep looking, but I would imagine that somebody in this thread has something, hopefully they'll see one of these posts.
