I got to Futureshop about 7:30 and all they had was the Decepticon Steel case.
I would have thought that would have been the first steel case to go and the Autobot one would have been the last to go.

Anyway, all the hype here at DVDtalk convinced me to buy it. I thought the movie was alright when I saw it at the theater. I was a little disappointed. The reviews on the picture and sound seemed promising plus with the cool steelbook, I thought, Why not. I probably wouldn't have bought it without the steelbook. I am such a dork. But the steelbook is very nice.

I just went with a regular 2-disc set from Best Buy.
I loved this movie but that's plenty for me.

Anyone in Hawaii know where there may be a store that has the steelbooks ready to sell off the shelf? My friend went to Suncoast at Pearlridge and they had no copies on display, saying that they only had enough to fulfill the pre-orders.
Oh, and anyone mind if they post up pictures of what's inside the steelbook? Just curious.

on the right hand side, it's just a picture of outer space.
nothing else inside the steelbook except an 4-page ad insert advertising the "all new bumblebee camaro."
for those who got the regular 2-disc, is there any type of insert/booklet? i assume not, but just wanted to make sure.

I just came back from Target. Keep in mind it's 10:18 PM here in Southern Cali. They easily had more than 50 copies of the transforming case left. And to top it off they still had a few boxes in the back. I didn't even bother to pick it up. I'll probably pick it up tomorrow since i didn't have any spare cash with me today since i only went to buy a few things.

Went to Best Buy, bought the Exclusive Gift Set and felt completely ripped off.
Here, you have this box set that includes the 2 disc dvd, a 32 page booklet that doesn't tell you much and a little Transformers figurine (mine had a battle scarred optimus prime).
no fancy covers, no steelbooks, nothing.

Like a few others I decided to get most of the versions of this movie.
The Steelbooks look great! I pre ordered from FYE. No call on Monday or Tuesday. Go there, they look through their stack of pre orders, and what do you know. They don't have any reserved for me. Great I thought, this is completely bogus. So I have the employee check and thankfully he found one of each.
What is the point of the pre order if they aren't going to reserve a copy for you? Is it that difficult?

I planned on only picking up the standard 2-disc edition, but I had to stop by Target late last night for other things and noticed they only had the 1-disc and Transforming case. Based on a thread in Bargains, I ran the Tranforming case under one of their red scanners and it read that it came with a $5 gift card. When I inquired with the cashier, she called over her manager and he said he didn't know why it wasn't coming up automatically, so I walked out with the Transforming case and $5 giftcard, which essentially brings it down to $19.99 -- best price, and unique packaging.
As an FYI, the scanner also said there were more in the stockroom, so I don't know how limited these things are. They still have the Heroes and Nip/Tuck:S4 special packages on the shelves, too.

The Best Buy lithograph is a piece of crap too. It was free and I still considered leaving it. I would have waited on the movie too, but I promised a Transformers HD screening party this weekend. Too bad I didn't read the Circuit City thread before going to Best Buy. Maybe I could've gotten a free BD/HD disc instead of that lithograph.

I'm curious to know what the situation is like at other Future Shop locations. Are the majority of people also picking up the Autobot edition as well?

That being said, when I picked mine up last night, the manager said we were lucky and smart for preordering, that the few steelbooks they did set on the shelves were gone really quick. This was in Atlanta, GA.
