Good to know. So fancy formatting and linking makes the threshold a lot less.

Just as list may be fine up to 500 or more, easy enough to test if we're so inclined.

But we know that 50-75 mini-paragraphs with lots of links/formatting will crash the post.

Rob
I don't believe the individual sketches count, but the SNL Christmas DVD (which contains most of those sketches) does.

I've always had a similar question about the Disney shorts and Simpsons episodes. I've seen people count them individually and lump them in with the discs they are included on. I always thought they should count individually, but I'm not sure the ruling.

I'd vote that you can count them either way; one for the whole DVD, or one for each episode/short. If you watched them separately off the internet or TV, they would count as one each; so it reasons that you can count them separately even if you watched them off of DVD.

And since we're pretty liberal here, I'd say that sketches count separately as well. I mean, if a 5 minute cartoon counts, than a 5 minute sketch should count.

Hey Rob, I noticed from the old threads that you did a holiday TV schedule. Are you still doing that?

Of course that counts, it was a whole special dedicated to Thanksgiving sketches (I watched it too). I think the question was whether a single sketch counted or not.

A holiday TV schedule? What do you mean?

And yes, I was asking about individual SNL sketches. I don't have the SNL Christmas DVD, but a couple of the SNL DVDs I do have, have individual Christmas-themed sketches.

Oops, I just looked again and it was a different Rob. Here is the post from the challenge two years ago.

It would have been awesome if someone here or some website was doing that this year.

Edit to add: Rob is still running the site mentioned in that linked post and has a full holiday TV schedule in the forums there. Registration quick and easy.

The cartoons I was talking about are more like 20 minutes. But, hey, I'm all for making more eligible.

Individual sketches is really stretching it, I would say an SNL DVD would count as one and each episode on TV would also count as one. The Christmas DVD for SNL was an actual episode anyway.

What constitutes a special? Is the SNL Thanksgiving episode they aired this past weekend a "special"?

I would say no, unless it was a different length and format than normal.

Maybe one could define a special (in general) as anything released originally on TV and not part of a continuing series?

Well, the format is different than normal, as it is a compilation. However, many TV shows do that, so that doesn't count.

I think you defined "special" perfectly. I rarely ever watch them, so I guess subconsciously I was going to try to count that as a Thanksgiving special

I would let you count it, but to be safe.....

Charlie Brown and Garfield Thanksgivings are both online, and would count for special and two other things each in the checklist.

Thought I'd mention (in case anyone missed it from the Bargains Forum) that FYE stores have a DVD called HOLIDAY TV CLASSICS that has Cristmas episodes from I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, The Andy Griffith Show, The Brady Bunch, Taxi, Family Ties, Frasier and Wings. Cost: $.01! I bought 2: 1 to give a s a gift.

I decided to wait until December to kick off my Christmas movie watching, but thanks to a few people's lists I found the Scrubs Thanksgiving episode to watch last night.

SURE you haven't seen anything Olsen. I'm imagining a shrine set up in a basement to these two Full House alums.

"it was just sitting there online"
How many Mary-Kate and Ashley fansites did you have to go through before you found it?

No really! I can't stand Bob Saget, so never watched Full House until a Thanksgiving episode last week. If the Olsen Twins were in that I missed them. I guess they were the baby? How'd one baby become twins?

I may search Jessica Alba fansites, but not the twins. I just googled "thanksgiving episode" to find it and much of what I have watched so far.

I have added a list of participants on the first post of the lists thread. I only put people who have have posted viewings on there. There were a few people who have posted nothing yet. Once you do, let me know and I'll add you to the list.

Yep, but remember that our lists cover less than 1% of all Christmas shows out there.

Google and IMDB episode title searches can help you find more.
