Sorry, maybe I'm slightly biased against Garfield. I loved Garfield when he first appeared in the comic strips, but the quality of that strip went downhill after a few years, and the last ten years of it, and all the TV specials, were an abomination compared to the potential that it had when Jim Davis started. Just my opinion of course. But I agree, he is a mass market character with multiple holiday specials, so I'll add him to the master template.

Charlie Brown, by the way, had at least 3 Christmas specials, 2 Thanksgiving, 2 Halloween, and several others like Easter and Valentine's Day.

Yep, I realized that I didn't own any pure Thanksgiving movies. I bought Planes, Trains, and Automobiles last night to rectify that.

And while I own hundreds of TV sets, the episodes are rarely labeled on the packaging, and sometimes not named something obviously Thanksgiving or Christmas. So it is going to take some googling to figure out just what holiday episodes I have access too.

But I probably won't do that this year, as I have a backlog of Christmas movies and specials that I will not possibly come close to finishing.

The other Thanksgiving one is in the list, something Mayflower if I recall. Let me look back....This Is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers (1988).

The other Halloween one is possibly a stretch. There was an election episode that took place during Halloween, with lots of stuff about the Great Pumpkin. I haven't seen it for awhile, but I remember it being successfully argued a Halloween episode before.

There were also many other Charlie Brown specials some not on DVD yet.

There are at least 4 Christmas specials. (copied from Wikipedia)

Three lesser-known true sequels were produced decades after the 1965 original. All three are 30 minutes in length (with commercials) and aired on CBS Television:

* It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown (1992; released to DVD as a bonus feature with A Charlie Brown Christmas)
* Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales (2002; released to DVD as a bonus feature with I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown)
* I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown (2003)

Also, there was a New Year Special, Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!

Thanks for the heads up, I missed those when I was going through my sets. Looking at the description for The Dressing though, would it be more of a Thanksgiving episode?

It's still a Thanksgiving episode... I'm cheating and doing a bunch of Christmas stuff now. I just want to fluff up my list with TV episodes so I can feel better about possibly actually finishing this.

I am sorry, but that should not count. The episode has to be about thanksgiving not the week after.

The episode takes place a week after Thanksgiving but it is still about Thanksgiving. Here is the description of the plot from Wikipedia (spoilerized both for length and for people who haven't seen it):

Spoiler:
Meatwad rolls over to Carl's with a message, which he is unable to remember due to his limited intelligence, so he roots around in his meat looking for the note he wrote as a reminder, pulling out his dolls Squirelly and a decapitated Jiggle Billy in the process. Eventually he finds the right note, which is a Thanksgiving invitation.

Since they aren't legally US citizens yet, the Aqua Teens have Thanksgiving a week past the actual holiday and invite Carl over to share in the festivities (though Carl decides to have dinner outside for the purpose of having witnesses). However, the dinner is interrupted when a mechanical turkey bursts into the home and grabs Carl by the throat (before tossing him out the window when Frylock asks the turkey to put him down). The turkey says his name is Turkitron and claims to be sent from the year 9595 to save the great-great-great-great grandfather of the turkey "Goblox," who is supposed to save the turkeys from the chicken overlords. Unfortunately, as Frylock points out, the turkey is already dead and about to be served as food.

Turkitron then tells a series of long tales about subjects ranging from the chicken overlords to the banning of taco pie to the claim that Carl is, in fact, a chicken mercenary sent from 9595 to stop the mission. All the while, Turkitron downs taco pie and wine, then attempts to find a time rift through which he will travel with the dinner turkey to a time before his killing. The turkey's mannerisms lead the ATHF to believe that this turkey is somehow related to the Cybernetic Ghost of Christmas Past from the Future (which Turkitron admits he took the form of in his first appearance). They also find it odd that he carries all his belongings in a plastic bag, including socks, which Turkitron claims are laser-guided weapons.

When Turkitron passes out drunk from the wine (and after destroying the ATHF's television), Frylock ties up the turkey and explores his head with a blowtorch. After Frylock adjusts some crossed wires, Turkitron starts doing the Hustle. Master Shake enters with a newspaper (to show a pantyhose ad), but Frylock discovers an article that states that Turkitron is actually a defective toy called the "Hustlin' Tom Turkey" and that 5,000 were made. At that moment, a large number of turkey robots (perhaps the other 4,999 turkeys) show up at the ATHF's door. Shake directs them to Carl's house, who opens the door while munching on a turkey leg. When asked what it is, Carl begins to say, "This is your great-great-great...", and the turkeys take aim with their laser-guided socks. Just before the turkeys fire on Carl, he says, "Your mother!"

Seems like a pretty strong Thanksgiving connection (albeit in a distinctly ATHF kind of way).

It is about Thanksgiving. The episode centers around a robotic turkey from the future that comes back in time to rescue the turkey they're having for dinner. The turkey is the key to prevent the Chickens who overthrow the human race.

They just happen to have the dinner a week after.

Besides, "Although the movie or TV show doesn't have to be holiday oriented, the movie or TV show must take place during the holiday season for at least 75% of the movie."

So basically, any movie that takes place in December counts.

Yes, that means Pearl Harbor almost counts.

Yeah, that ATFH episode definitely counts, looking forward to watching it.

Anyone remember if there are any other Adult Swim holiday episodes? I know the Venture Brothers Christmas episode, and the few mentioned above, but perhaps there were more?

Trevor, you know we have until December 31st, right? At this pace you'll see over 500 titles.

I am officially changing my goal from 65 to 100 though

Hey now, Rob is in the lead, give him the grief.

But 500 won't come close to winning , FusionX is here.

But seriously, I hope, I just happened to have lots of free time the last couple of days.

I am definitely not going to keep up the pace. I was just going thru my collection and kept finding stuff to watch. I was also obviously following your all examples, as most of what I watched was taken from your lead ("I learned it by watching you ok ?! I learned it by watching you!"). I was surprised at how much stuff is available online (free and legal to be specific; everything is available online).

Trevor and Rob you guys are doing great! I would be too if this semester didn't suck ass and if I actually liked Thanksgiving stuff, which I'm not a fan of, I started this challenge because I LOVE Christmas stuff, so after a few days past Thanksgiving I'll start having som real fun.

Keep up the good work guys!

My stupid compulsive nature has kept me from starting this off. I watched the two seasons of The Office UK last week and have the two-part special on tap, but decided it would probably be better to do a Thanksgiving show to start. So I was going to start with Mad About You, but the first Thanksgiving episode is only 11 episodes into the first season and I've been meaning to watch the series sometime soon anyway (I picked up Season 3 earlier this year but haven't had a chance to watch it yet), so now I'm 8 episodes into the 1st season. I'm going to have to break myself of this to jump ahead to the 3rd season episode so hopefully that will free me from this cycle.

So, watching the movie/show again with commentary counts? What if I just listen to the commentary?
