According to the Bound for Glory V DVD cover, it will be a 2 disc set. The second disc will likely be full of bonus stuff like the fan fest weekend and probably segments and promos leading to BfG.

That would explain the $17.95 price point that ROH's website has it at, as opposed to their standard $14.95.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
I really wish TNA would start releasing their PPVs in widescreen since they broadcast them in HD now. I haven't bought a PPV DVD this year starting with Destination X (the first one broadcast in HD) because of it.
Although this being 2-disc is tempting.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
finished watching Survivor Series 87 and 88, and so far hardly any editing was done (like with Summerslam), only themes changed were Steamboat, and Powers of Pain it seemed like. Demolition is still there (awesome theme! btw), and i think the opening theme for 87 was changed since it sounded dubbed, not sure on this since i didn't watch the live PPV or owned the Coliseum release.
I also noticed with 87 and 88, the bottom left corner has the WWF gold logo that was used in 93- early 95. Not sure if this is a mistake or not, since usually the older events from late 80s - early 90s from the other Anthologies they show the WWE logo. Then in mid 90s they have the new generation logo and so on.
Great set though, probably going to watch 89,90 and possibly 91 later on.
Packaging sucks and seems cheap but surprisingly i checked all 10 discs and the surfaces don't have a single scratch. Just have to be careful taking and putting them back in.

Watching 89 at the moment, and Vince's introduction in the beginning where he announces the matches is intact, instead of dubbing it Mean Gene like in the Rumble anthology.
Seems like they're really keeping the authenticity of the older ppvs the way they were aired and not altering it to their liking. Good news on that.

Toys R Us has all WWE DVDs 50% off tomorrow and Saturday. Shown are the SD DVD, the Batista DVD, SS 2009 and Breaking Point.
I hope they have the Survivor Series Anthologies.

At the Holbrook, NY store, they only had Batista, Smackdown and Judgment Day 2009. The documentaries are $24.99 regularly (so $12.50 sale price) and the PPVs are $16.99 regularly (so $8.50). If your store has a good selection, it's a good deal.

Got my Survivor Series Anthology from WWEShop today. I'm quite surprised to see that most of the theme songs were left intact. I must say, this feels more authentic than the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania Anthologies. I can't wait for the other volumes to get released.
sg2386, the Powers of Pain theme from 1988 isn't a dub. They actually used that song.

Same here, can't wait for the other volumes to be released. The past couple days i finished Volume 1 (which was fantastic btw) and currently watching 1994. You can tell they dubbed the intro music for 94 because when listening closely you can hear the actual theme in the background.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
I ordered my SS sets from amazon, i've watched 87 and 89 man has it been a blast watching those. I'm supposed to get volume 2 by monday amazon sent them in seperate shipments, i don't think there were any musical edits in the 89 show and the only edits on 87 i noticed were steamboat and the bomb angels music sounded dubbed. id have to check my original ppv shows, im lucky enough to have the ppv versions of 87 and 88 on dvd but i lost my other tapes of the original ppv broadcasts of 89-95.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
I just picked up a Mint Condition original WWF DVD of Royal Rumble 2002 from the C.E.X shop for £14, as well as the Mick Foley DVD for £6 and the Big Vision Entertainment Best Of CM Punk DVD for £2.99 from a new shop called "Head" which looks to be replacing Zavvi stores.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
Just got done watching the World Heavyweight Championship DVD. It contains a very good 1hr documentary featuring really old clips/photos from the early part of the 1900's. Loads of comments from old champions. Unreleased studio interviews shot by the WWE with Mae, Moolah, Terry Funk etc.
They take shots at Jeff Jarrett calling him one of the dubious champions lol.

Looks like Amazon.com have the Raw: 2009 Season, 3 DVD set listed with a Jan 26 release date (i believe it was mentioned here that the set also has a blu-ray release in Canada).
Have there been 3 discs worth of quality matches from Raw this year???
Now a SmackDown: 2009 Season would be fantastic, with all of the awesome Jericho, Mysterio, Punk, Morrision, Benjamin, Edge and Hardy matches.
Which probably means that the first 2 releases for next year will be:

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
RAW: 2009 Season does sound interesting, it will likely contain 20-25 matches and segments/promos from the guest hosts, etc.
Maybe they might go backwards and once 2009 is released they will do RAW: 2008 Season, 2007, etc.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
Why would we need a DVD to remind us how bad raw has been this year.
However I would love a set featuring older footage like 99 and 00 (which are almost the forgotten years of the attitude era as there is very little footage of these released like the awesome 10 man tag from early 00, the ladder
match with edge, christian and the hardys from the first raw on tnn.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
Went to a DVD signing today, had to buy Summerslam 2009 to get in which is a shame as I already have it, but hey, now I have a SteelBook version signed by Mark Henry and Primo.
