Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

I found this regarding the Best PPV matches from 2009-2010 DVD;

The pinnacle for every sports entertainer is to appear on pay-per-view and put on the best match. For the first time ever on home video, the WWE Universe can enjoy the best matches in one home video collection. The stars of Raw, SmackDown, and ECW present the greatest bouts of the year, from longtime Pay-Per-View standards "WrestleMania", "SummerSlam", "Survivor" Series, and "Royal Rumble", as well as newly themed events, including "Breaking Point", "Hell in a Cell", "Bragging Rights", "TLC" and "Elimination Chamber".

I guess people can figure which matches from those ppvs will be added.

Finally got my order from RF, it took them 10 days to ship 2 dvds. Will probably watch the Mr Anderson shoot tonight after RAw.

Found this on a wrestling site.

Silvervision in the UK will be releasing special DVDs of John Cena and Rey Mysterio. These DVDs will be exclusive to Europe. [Credit: Pwinsider.com]

Sucks that it will not be a US release.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

Found this update on the Royal Rumble 2010 Blu-ray release on wrestlezone.com;

Thanks to Michael Freeman for sending in the following: I was shopping at my local Best Buy on Sunday (2/26), and came across the 2010 Royal Rumble on Blu-Ray, but not regular DVD. And as a Best Buy exclusive, they included a 2nd disc that contained the complete Monday Night RAW and Friday Night Smackdown from the week prior to the Royal Rumble. I know you guys stated that the Blu-Ray isn't due until May 4th, but wanted to let you know that its been spotted 2 months early.

That's weird. I was at BB the other day and they had put out a few copies of the RR, but there was nothing to indicate that it was a BB-exclusive or a 2-disc set.

I misread. The blu-ray will be a 2-disc exclusive to BB. If that's the case, between being the third wwe blu-ray (not counting the one that came with the video game) and a BB exclusive, I'll definitely have to pick it up.

I already posted a message about this. I wouldn't worry that they're not getting a release in the US because both DVD's are just 4 PPV matches.

Does it have some kind of sticker indicating that it's an exclusive?

Good news!

I think in the US, it will be a Best Buy exclusive til May 4, where it will be released every after that date.

Found this on Walmart.ca, Looks like it will be available to us March 9.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

Well I have mixed feelings on that Hart dvd, and the main thing is the match they chose for the Bulldogs vs. Hart Foundation. I have Best of the WWF Vol. 3, Vol. 7 and the Hart Foundation Coliseum video, and so far every Bulldogs vs. Foundation match that has been released by WWE on dvd, is from those 3 said coliseum videos!! (minus the SNME match between the two, of course) Still, with all the house shows that Vince taped back in the day, from MSG, Boston Garden, Maple Leaf Garden and such, you'd think they could have put on some other Hart Foundation vs. Bulldogs matches.

I also personally think that Owen Hart vs. Rocky Maivia for the IC Title on Raw in April 97 should have been on the Hart Family dvd. As well as Owen Hart vs. Razor Ramon and Bret Hart vs. Bam Bam Bigelow from KOTR 93 and 94. Also even a Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels match from the old WWE Coliseum videos would have been a nice treat for those who never saw any of their matches back then.

So clearly I am a torn on the Hart Family dvd. If the documentary is done well enough, it may save itself. But I feel that this just looks to be a second to the Bret Hart dvd, only changed around a bit.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

K-Mart is selling both Royal Rumble 2009 and Royal Rumble 2010 on DVD in a two pack for $14.95.
So if you don't have last years Rumble on DVD and want that and this years Rumble on DVD and
not on Blu-Ray go there.

LB...

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

its impossible to please everybody seeing how its only 3 disk, maybe on dvds like this they need to make it 4 or go blue ray to fit more stuff on, but for a 3 disk they did the best they could, only so much space to fit everything in

Must...import...Royal Rumble...Blu Ray

I care that much about my WWE Blu Ray collection being up to date I've asked a friend in the US to head to Best Buy for me.

Still not buying any 2009/2010 PPV in DVD format. I've got around four 09 PPVs in HD saved onto my Sky HD (UK TV box) hard drive for future viewing. These ones were free and don't get automatically deleted. Still, I'd rather have them on blu rays.

Just went and picked up my Royal Rumble Blu-ray. My closest Best Buy only got 2 copies in, so if any of you are thinking about getting it, I'd recommend doing so soon.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

The BB near me where I always go had about 10 copies of the BR of the RR and yes it had the exclusive sticker that was in the picture posted above, I was looking for the standard dvd though, but they didn't have it so I picked it up at wally world for 15, missing the extras on BR doesn't matter to me i put all wwe tv programming to disc each week anyway.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII

I record each week's shows onto DVD as well, but they're still pretty damn cool extras, imo, especially considering that the Raw and SD shows here are also in HD. I was half expecting them to just half ass it a bit on the extras and have them on a standard DVD.
