Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
listen all i was upset was about somebody saying king of the ring 2000 should be on the top 5 list of the decade, i understand everybody has there opinion, and he likes it cause of personal reasons cause it was his first ppv, but that doesnt mean its the best
explain to me how king of the ring 2000 is better than summerslam 2002 or wrestlemania 19, look at the cards side by side, come on, its obsurb to say its better, is tiger woods the best golfer, of course he is, if anybody says otherwise there wrong, sometimes a spade is a spade

Here is your original post:
"what are your guys top 5 wwe ppvs of the decade, i doubt the next few ppvs will be in the top 5, so what are your rankings and why, and are they on dvd"
If dillkid likes KOTR2000 and it is in his top 5, then good for him....it is his own personal choice and you cannot say his OPINION is "wrong"....

Why hasn't chuckliddell been banned yet?!?
This thread is called "official wrestling DVD thread" not "post your favourite ppv of the decade" or "opinions on RAW or SD" thread.
If you want to discuss ppvs or the shows, then post on the Wrestling thread on the sports forum. This is only to discuss current DVDs and future releases. Two pages of useless crap, that doesn't even belong here.
Is anyone looking forward to the Batista DVD? WWE.com posted a chapter of the documentary and it looks pretty good. I'm probably going to buy this for the documentary and the rare SD and RAW matches included.

Has there been any news at all about the possibility of a Chris Jericho set coming out? IMO, the guy could easily have 2 different releases by now. It is absurd that he hasn't even gotten one yet. Even if they have to preclude any Benoit stuff from appearing, there is still more than enough great material.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
I remember reading that if the Jeff Hardy DVD got canned, they would release a Jericho DVD to replace it.
But looks like the Hardy DVD is back on entitled, "My Life, My Rules" 3 Disc set releasing Dec. 15.
I think it will be a great set if they include rare gems that weren't on DVD before. I don't think they will include a documentary since they did on Leap of Faith from 2001 and Hardy Boyz DVD from 2008.
So i think it will be strictly matches, segments, promos, etc.
I would love to see a Jericho set, i think theres enough matches, and segments from ECW/WCW/WWF/E to easily fill up a 3 disc DVD. A documentary would also be great see. Maybe it will be released next year.

A Chris Jericho DVD is a must have! I can see that getting released next year along with Best Of Nitro and Best of Clash Of The Champions.

I know Wal-Mart released a 4-disc edition of the Hulk Hogan set a few years ago. Does anyone know if these are out of print or are they still somewhat easy to come across?

One four disc set comes with eps of Hogans knows best and those are widely available. However there is another four disc set that comes with matches and I don't know if that one is easy to get or not. Hope that helps.

I got the 4 disc version with the extra matches used on ebay a few months ago for like 12-13 bucks shipped. If you do a bit of searching, you should be able to find it without too much trouble.

Thanks for the responses. I know some of the extra matches were released on other sets so I wasn't sure if it was worth the extra effort to try to find a copy still.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
whoa...wait..WWE DVD displays? When did these come out? I hit multiple walmarts over the past week and haven't seen even 1 display. What titles are included? Is it as great of a deal as it was when they switched distributors last time?
Picked up Breaking Point for 14.96 at Walmart today. No sign of it at KMart. Heading out to FYE & Best Buy to grab TNA Hard Justice 09 & Ultimate Fighter 9.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
Had an idea. Let's make up a list of 3 DVDs TNA should release in 2010. Mine:
-Sorry Bout Your Damn Luck: Beer Money Inc. (2 disc; 45-60 min doc; matches; angles/promos/out takes)
-Sting: The Definitive Collection (4 disc; 60-90 min doc; matches; angles/promos/bonus materials)
-Matt Morgan "The Blueprint" (1 disc; 45 min doc; 5-7 matches; promos/extras)
*Note: The Morgan dvd will include his first World Title win, and come out shortly there after.
The only other dvd I'd consider would be a Main Event Mafia feature, mainly focusing on Kurt in the leadership role, but showing short docs on other members along with 3-4 key matches from each. Would be a 2 disc or 3 disc set priced at $14.99 that will sell simply off the star power alone of the 5 guys on the cover.

A Main-Event Mafia feature could be cool, because it could feature the group's formation, introduction of Scott Steiner, and a ton of nifty ppv matches. The problem, again, is that it would leave little room for TV matches.
Considering that Impact is five-years old this year, I would have loved to have seen "The Best of Impact," focusing mostly on top matches.

Re: Official Wrestling DVD Discussion Thread - Volume XII
The obvious problem with a Sting set is that his 1988-2001 career is owned by WWE, and his 2003-2009 career is owned by TNA, not to mention the fact that TNA would probably put only PPV on the set, simply because Sting has never had any good matches on Impact, though I'm willing to be corrected.

Despite all of TNA's problems, I think the faction has been a success. They've been established as the top bad guys, they help get younger guys over (somewhat), and they've had some good matches.

Well, the other volumes haven't even been announced, so it's too early for an artwork to be released.
The UK though however have a deal (read on their twitter) that if you buy all the volumes, you get the storage box free.
