To finish the Arthouse/Criterion crossover, last night I watched:
The Haunting - always enjoyable and a great way to kick off
The Night of the Hunter - every time I watch it, it seems creeper in different ways; this time the "happy ending/lesson" was it.
Blow Out - I'd watched Blow-Up for the previous challenge, so interesting to watch them close together, although for a film with such a direct-reference title, it seems to borrow less than DePalma's others.
On to Christopher Lee and Dracula! Have a great day, everyone.

Whoever put Fred Olin Ray on the checklist is a comedy genius. I found Biohazard (1985) on Tubi, and I’ve been having a good time with this dialogue.

Glad to read I'm not alone... while I've only earned two free t-shirts so far it's more than I'd normally spend (and I'm looking at a third) - those prices are pretty good for Shout! and the selection is very good.

I know I probably won't get close to 100 as this Wednesday-Monday traveling for Aftershock in Sacramento (4 day rock festival). Then hoping that following Friday to see Joe Gatto perform stand up. Was thinking of doing the When We Were Young Festival in Vegas but funds a bit low, so we shall see.
Started last night with [b]Hocus Pocus[/b} 1 and 2. Part 2 def had some fun bits and parts. Very sentimental at the end. Then saw the new Orphan movie. It wasn't at good as the original but it was interesting seeing her back story and how she got her name.

For today’s theme, I watched Horror Of Dracula , since I have a digital copy of the movie. Plus it was also a long time favorite of mine.

I kicked it off last night with Jess Franco doing his version of Eyes Without a Face in Faceless, which has got to be his most mainstream 80s film since Bloody Moon. A stellar cast and surprisingly restrained in the nudity department. Highlights include Caroline Munro as a socialite cokehead and Bridget Lahaie as a psychotic klepto nurse showcasing probably the third best syringe to the eyeball scene on film.
For Christopher Lee day I finally opened my Eurocrypt Vol 1 set and watched Crypt of the Vampire. A decent Camilla-inspired Gothic with Lee in a rare hero role. I plan on watching a few more of his films, but will probably spread them out over the month. I'm about a fourth of the way into Tony Dalton's Terence Fisher book and might even do a marathon of their collaborations later on.
Coincidentally this popped up on my YouTube feed today. Christopher Lee hosting Frankenstein Week back in 1993 on the Sci-Fi Channel.

In an example of worst timing imaginable, I discovered today that Disney is having a contract dispute with Dish. Which means I need to find another way to watch anything on Freeform this month.

Hey Chad!
My checklist from a couple days ago had DECEASED DIRECTOR in the Director section..... No biggie if we're not doing it, as I just started planning in that section.

One of the things that I like doing is taking a look at what everybody else is watching. One title that has popped up that I noticed quite a bit early on is The Haunting from 1963. An excellent film. One that I will myself use this month. But kudos to the people that had used this one already. It's an excellent choice.
One title that I have used early on is Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The original version. A blurry pick up that I was happy to have bought early on this year. One that I am proud to have in my collection.

Is it just me or are the links set to take you to this year's list of the current subset films (the individual posts in the review forum) taking you to last year's list?

Fortunately not many Directors died over the past year; there are only two personalities that maybe fit the bill.

A couple of the checklist item links in the tropes and ‘new to you’ sections appear to no longer work. Something about Lullabies was one of them. I plan to go through them all at work tomorrow and verify.

Ended last night watching The Signal (2007). What a great, wild ride! Feeling a bit hung over today, and plan on starting this afternoon once I pick up my wife from the airport.

Last night I watched episode 1 of the new INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE series on AMC+. I love the novel and found the 1994 movie disappointing. Welp, I adore the new series. The actor who plays Lestat (Sam Reid) fits the novel's character waaay better than Tom Cruise, and the new Louis is compelling. I love the extended New Orleans storyline. The first episode is around 75 minutes long, and it all takes place before Louis is converted to a vampire, so there's a good bit of story of his life before (none of that is in the novel, but it works). Check it out if you are also a fan of the novel.
