I'm sure Sony was waiting until they got BD50's replicated. This one will probably have some interactive features on it. I've seen mentions on AVS that this will be out early part of next year.

You really can't compare what you're going to see on any HD media from TV or a streaming source.

While I agree, IMO, HDnet does have very good broadcasts (compared to the networks and other hd channels).

For example, 2001 looked stunning!! Even though it was a broadcast.

and that why I made that comment about HDNet Movie's broadcast of Winged Migration - HDNet makes an effort to secure the best HiDef transfers (Warner Bros. HiDef transfers have continually been impressive), here while some shots have a remarkable 'window-like' clarity, it is terribly marred by a less than perfect print, I mean the movie is a 2001 film, if this is the best Sony Pictures can do, this is another embarrasement akin to 'The Fifth Element' Blu-ray disc.

according to my distributor the release for Poseidon has been pushed back to 1/02/07.

Here's some blu-ray releases for next year:

Tailor of Panama: 02/06/07
Glory: 02/0607
Open Season: 01/30/07

Also our Distributor has these blu-ray titles listed as Moratorium, which usually means they might be delayed or cancelled or something:

Crouching Tiger: 1/16/07
Winged Migration: 1/16/07
Hostel: ????

and Poseidon is listed as MOR, as well but that might be due to date change.

I have a couple of guesses on this delay. One could be they are still working on the IME feature. Two is they are holding it back until the Blu-ray version is ready and they will release both in January. Can't think of any other reasons.

I'll pick up Glory for sure, maybe Tailor Of Panama. Hostel is out in the UK already and is region free, so I would imagine it's only a matter of time before it gets a release over here. I think ianholm just ordered it.

I still think we'll get it this year. Warners makes alot of last minute announcements. There wasn't much of a heads up for Batman Begins or V for Vendetta when they were announced.

I didn't find out about Reservoir Dogs getting a BD release until last week, which was after I picked up the newest 2-disc set. According to the specs, these all get DTS HD audio tracks and Reservoir Dogs' features will be in HD. Sounds good to me.

Some people on AVS claimed their Chronos HD-dvd shipped today. Possible the 2/13 date is Blu-Ray?

Since Clash of the Titans is the only movie Warner has made available in HD through Microsoft's 360 download service that hasn't been released or at least announced on HD DVD yet, I wonder if that's coming soon.
