From that list, Id snag As Good as it gets, The Patriot, Jerry Maguire, Guns of the Navarone, The Crow and Sense & Sensibility (my fiancee's favorite movie)....I MIGHT snagged Underworld Extended, but not sure.

Ill most likely wait for US releases on these though. No hurry.

I'm not sure how different the UK dates on those BD titles will differ from the US, but it's good to see some release date for Da Vinci Code and Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Yeah, lets just hope that BD is increasing the quality and these will have superb picture/sound and extra features.

Im wondering if these will be BD25 or 50s though, isnt there still a shortage basically??

DaVinci Code should definitely be a BD-50. I think that's why it was delayed. I would say there is still a shortage of those, but hopefully they'll be less next year. I think the BD studios only get a certain amount of BD-50 titles for now.

Yeah, thats my concern. Alot of these titles are Sony titles and they will use MPEG2 and BD25....so we can say goodbye to extras most likely.

Ill have to see reviews first for alot of these titles.

Sony is currently operating 9 BD-25 lines and 6 BD-50 lines. There is no shortage. I believe they delayed it in order utilize BD-J.

Yeah, but are yields still low? Lines doesnt matter much if yields are low. Any proof there is no shortage?

I still suspect most of these will be BD25.

They claim they are currently (Nov 20) ramping up to 60K discs per day. They are probably ramping because I don't see current demand being anywhere near 60K a day.

I understand this, but are the yeilds still low?? If so, they might still release alot of these on BD25.

Better question: Were the yields ever low? If yes, then provide a source.

Better question....what are the yields for BD50?? Sony claims "ever so slightly" less than single layer BD which is around 80%. Why dont they give an exact number?

Whether you like it or not, there are rumors that the yields are low and its one of the factors that caused the numerous BD50 delays this fall.

So, will these upcoming titles magically be BD50?? I doubt it. They SHOULD be. Otherwise, Sony should wait to release them.

Yep. Looks like I'll be getting the new SE of Dracula (which I'm assuming this is) on SD DVD. Too bad on you, BD.

Well, the next few Sony releases are:

12/12: Talladega Nights (BD-50)
12/19: All The Kings Men (BD-25)
01/02: The Covenant (BD-25)
01/16: Resident Evil: Apocalypse (BD-50)
01/16: Winged Migration (BD-25)
01/23: Gridiron Gang (BD-25)

So, Sony has 1/3 of their titles announced - though it appears High Def Digest may be missing a few titles.

Did you keep one of your PS3s for Blu-ray use?

Not yet....should have one soon (this week maybe). I have a couple titles though (Black Hawk Down and Xmen 3).

My new hd-dvds are keeping me busy so I can wait. But, some of the deals recently have been too good to pass up. So, Im going to grab the titles that I want even though I dont have the player yet.

As for releases on both formats, im defaulting to HD-DVD unless there is a reason to get the BD edition over the HD-DVD (none so far obviously).

That will be an interesting release. Buena Vista here and WB overseas...I wonder what this means for encoding, soundtrack and extras.

Yeah, I'll be anxious to see how they stack up against each other.

Meanwhile, at least The Fountain is a WB release, so I won't have to worry about importing that one.

Just went to Best Buy to pick up Meet The Parents. All Superman HD's were sold out as was the boxed set. I was only there for about 5 minutes and 3 people asked for the HD DVD's.

sheesh, the 35mm print I saw over the weekend was hideous looking - all the colours seemed washed out - it didn't help either that the sound was lacklustre as well, every reel change had an audible 'click'. I would have loved to see this in DLP but no DLP equipped theatres in the DC area is presenting this as such.

my BB had two HD-DVDs. I have to wait for my special order from CD Game Exchange where I'm getting my copy with some instore credit knocking the price down to 15 bucks.

Got the 2 HD's and the boxed set. Paid a total of $2.18 for all of them.
Now waiting for someplace to have Returns.

Btw...Netflix now has Oceans 12 on their list. Not sure if that's "new" or "news."
