Deal appears dead. I tried a combination that worked earlier and it doesn't now.

The A2 deal appears dead as well.

Sheesh! I was trying to get another order in and nothing is working. That was quick! How long did this B2G1 deal last? I am guessing 36-hours?

I'm still surprised that this was an actual sale & not a mistake. You snooze, you lose... gotta grab what you want right away when you get a great deal like this.

I have a feeling that the Buy2Get1 deal's just postponed until they fix the glitch that allowed a discount when buying the HD-DVD/BluRay player. They had graphics made up and advertised the deal on the front page. I don't think they'll just pull the plug on it.

So you think you get the player plus the three free DVDs, but not the additional "value" of one of the DVDs taken off? If so, my foot dragging has cost me $ 27.95. (Although, that deal did seem a little squirrely...)

or maybe they are fixing the glitch that is applying the 10% off prior to the full price credit?

My first orders came in today- pretty shoddy packing job for some reason- several of the packages weren't completely sealed, and on one the bottom flap was completely unglued and open(?!). It was a wonder the disc was still in the packaging and not kicking around the bottom of one of the trucks.
Also one of the discs was loose- Has anyone had any problems with loose Bds being scratched and having playback problems?

for reference the order that came in today(from the sale) was

X-Men: Last Stand
Kingdom Of Heaven
Into The Blue

total- $45.81

I also got in Heroes and Layer Cake. If I wasn't in such a hurry to get in before the deal was dead, I would have maximized my discounts better...but for $13.50 for LC and a $15 average on the others, I won't complain.

Still waiting on

The Queen
Music & Lyrics
Apocolypto

total $42.xx
_________

Big Lebowski
Eternal Sunshine Of the Spotless Mind
Terminator 3

total $33.xx
___________

Shaun Of The Dead (2 copies)
40 Year Old Virgin
(was hoping to get Unforgiven but it was out of stock)

toal $33.xx

all for a grand total of $218.xx
ouch.

now to file all this stuff on the shelf and go back to cracking open and watching the movies I bought from DDD...3 sales ago

I'm sure this sale will be back. The Buy 2 Get 1 is legit, the glitch was w/ the HD-DVD/BR Player deal overlapping w/ the B2G1. (It was supposed to be, for example, buy an HD-A2 for $238, get 3 movies free and 5 by mail. But due to overlap, their software applied both the discount to get the 3 movies free (say 3 x $19.99 = $59.97, so subtract $59.97 from the total) as well as the buy 2 get 1 deal (3 x $19.99 = $59.97, subtract lowest which is $19.99 so another $19.99 was getting subtracted, which shouldn't have).

So for those who got in before the programming glitch was fixed, will Amazon honor the additional discount?

Mine shipped yesterday at that price, so I'm guessing yes, since it was their fault. They can send threats, but fact is - the contract is signed (reciept) and the item is on its way.

They will likely have to eat the $20 - $30 they lost per combo due to their programmers, and I'm sure somebody will get in serious trouble for it.

As for those that didn't ship yet, it's tough to say, but the potential loss of customers for $20 - $30 (considering they usually send you a $10 GC when they fuck up) on a mid-level product... I don't think they'd risk it, but who knows. And unlike their other fuck ups (the TV on DVD Boxset fiasco), this one wasn't nearly as abused.

Well, if B2G1 does come back, I would still recommend not hesitating. Amazon has pulled previous HD disc deals earlier than expected.

I ordered an A20 with The Departed, Letters from Iwo Jima, and The Founatin...and my total at checkout was $300.78 with $261.92 being alotted to the player and I suppose the rest to the three movies. So, is there anyway for Amazon to weasel out of charging me the remaining $38.86 for the three movies? They have already charged the $261.92.
