If only it didn't have a tiny alien clinging to it, that egg set would be awesome.

More like the Rocky Horror Picture Show set. No hubs, no retainer clips.

Ironic considering that the alien's head is shaped like an erect penis.

Doesn't the UK set have fold out packaging like Quadrilogy instead of the book style in the U.S? It looks that way from the small pic on Amazon UK's site. Plus it's got those ugly-ass age appropriate markings on the cover.

The UK version does have the accordian-style packaging, yes. And it's got the certificate logos on the slipcover. I don't mind either, but I realize some people here do.

True, and true. However, the spine on the actual foldout packaging doesn't have the age labels, so it'll look normal when turned in that direction. And it's actually a handsome, sturdy set with traditional plastic hubs instead of the slide-out holders found in the (otherwise very sexy) US book. For $56 shipped, I'm extremely happy.

Yeah, I'm with Lemmy on this one. Hate that accordion packaging.

I agree, it's just as awkward as the Quadrilogy DVD, and you're certainly getting your money's worth with the US set. But considering the price difference (as of this writing, roughly $33 between Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk), I'm willing to stomach the lack of printed material in the book and that little extra time it takes to unfold the set.

Re: Alien Anthology - Oct. 26th

Man...it was a bitch to get to Alien on the Quadrilogy set. I could've just switched the places of the discs but it looks weird out of order.

At least the UK one isn't as bad as that. BUT....it still isn't easy as to the US one we got here.

Re: Alien Anthology - Oct. 26th

Weirdly enough the Quadrilogy was a book style set over here while the US got the flat-pack version. This time it would appear the roles have been reversed. UK 1: USA 1

The neon green does look cool, but I fucking hate cases like that.

Ohhh, he said Quadrilogy, I thought he was talking about the Blu-ray Anthology. I was confused.

Again...on the US side...it was a bitch to get to Alien. Had to flip it like what? 4 or 5 times? Jesus...

Re: Alien Anthology - Oct. 26th

I prefer the US packaging too as its slimmer and takes up less place. but for me it came down to price and $56 was a bargain compared to $90.

Supposedly, Amazon will be offering this for $70.49 starting tomorrow as the "box set deal of the week".

Jeunet doesn't like the Alien Resurrection transfer.

Sounds like the film was given the treatment it deserves.

Sounds like sour grapes. The transfer looks pretty good.
