Well, an update on red2blu offering to ship all the titles that they have available now and the rest later.

What I've feared all along. red2blu has my two orders so screwed up now that there is at least one title which they claim they don't owe me anymore. From my records, I had Matrix 10th on each of my orders, but now red2blu are saying they only owe me one copy. I'm checking the others with a fine tooth comb.

What a disaster! Wait almost 3 months only to find out I'm still not getting all my titles and might not ever get at least one of them.

That is your own fault there....they do have some rules.

Q: How many HD-DVDs may be upgraded?
A: You may upgrade up to 25 different movies per household. Also, there is a limit of 1 copy per movie.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Ok, my mistake for simplifying my statements to 'my two orders'. Reality, I placed an order for myself and I placed an order for my daughter who lives in Oregon. They are a young family and I find myself buying most of their video equipment, Toshiba A35 and a bunch of HD DVD's. When I told her about the promotion, she asked if I would trade in some of her HD DVD's as well? So I did. I placed an order for her, using her name and address, but paying for it myself.

I don't consider that two orders for myself as it isn't, I'm merely paying for both orders. If that is a problem for red2blu, why has it taken them over 8 weeks to let me know???

Just another, in a long list of, examples of how red2blu can't figure out how to run their promotion properly.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

The top portion is from my original post #817:

Bad news. Another title just hit "back-order status"

Dear Dan,

Thank you for contacting Red2Blu! Your order still has 2 items on backorder Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Casablanca Ultimate Collectors Edition. The order will process as soon as those items are available. I apologize for this inconvenience. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me again.

Paige
At least I also now have an email stating I will receive the Casablanca Ultimate Edition.
I can now claim bait & switch if given the single disc.

I waited thru the weekend and just emailed back this response to the above notice:

This is absolutely ridiculous. I have been waiting for nearly 3 months due to Casablanca being out of stock. A title that Warner owns and should have ready access to. Now Harry Potter is out of stock. What happens if you receive a shipment of Casablanca tomorrow and Harry Potter is still out of stock??? I will still be waiting while everyone else who ordered after me gets Casablanca until that runs out and I'm shoved back to the end of the line again waiting for something else on my order to become out of stock. I am getting the feeling that this promotion will never be fulfilled. I mailed my covers and sent payment on the very first day of this promotion, a promotion that was supposed to be fulfilled within 4-5 weeks. Please do the honorable thing and do whatever it takes to make this right.
I'll post whatever I get back in response. I have a feeling this is going to take a concerted effort on all our parts. We should just pick one day (I'm going to suggest this Thursday or Friday, maybe both - time enough to get everyone on board), and deluge the customer service line with phone calls until they at the very least agree to splitting the orders at no additional charge.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Just got an email saying that the Harry Potter Box Set is now also on backorder. I figured it was as it was removed from the list, so this is the confirmation.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I got a postcard last week telling me they can't fulfill my order and to contact them. I had always talked to them buy phone before and they would only split the order if I paid the extra shipping charge. So this time I e-mailed them and they agreed to split the order without an additional charge. It looks like my order shipped today. God knows when I'll get "Casablanca."

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I finally succeeded in getting a cool rep!

Dear Dan,

I do apologize for the inconvenience of the delay in your order. All of the Harry Potter movies are in stock for your order. The only movie on backorder is Casablanca. I have seperated this item from your order and put it on it own order. Your card hasn't been charged yet for the discs. All of the movies will ship within the next 24-48 hours and Casablanca will be shipped out when the item is received. We are expecting to get Casablanca within the next 2-4 weeks. I do apologize again for the delay. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Regards,

Kelly

They've been saying this much longer than 2-4 weeks ago.

I did call a CSR today to make sure they shipped my order to the correct address (I've moved to another state since I placed my order, that's how long it's been). She said they got an update today that "Casablanca" would be available in ... 2 to 3 weeks. I'll believe it when I see it.

I guess I can wait another 4 weeks to see if Casablanca gets put back on as a selection to be traded in.

I think it's a safe bet that if Casablanca does get put back on it will be the upcoming single disc edition only.

Eh, at least it'll only be a $4.95 trade-in, then.

I got my order (sans Casablanca) today. Took only, what, somewhere between 9 and 11 weeks?

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I called for the first time today and inquired about my order placed 10 weeks ago. The CSR told me they did not have an expected ship date for my order due to Casablanca but they hoped in 2 weeks. I asked "Why not ship the rest of my order then since it has been 10 weeks?" She readily agreed and said they would ship the rest of my order now at no extra charge. I'll hold out for Casablanca since I'm in no hurry to see it again especially if they're going to send the UE.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

So can we expect them to send us the single disc version of Casablanca instead of the ultimate edition that we ordered? Sounds like they are buying time until it releases.

^ I doubt it, as they charged extra for the Casablanca ultimate edition. If they switch it with the single disc, they'll have to charge less.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Not at the very beginning; I sent in my cover for CASABLANCA very early on and the price was $4.95; they changed it shortly thereafter. The photo showed a regular blu case, but it was described as the Ultimate Edition.

I hope I get the recently announced regular version anyway, as I'll just end up tossing all the rest of the crap in the giant box version if they sent that.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I have e-mail confirmation it was the ULTIMATE edition, so I fully expect to get that....if not, they will hear from me again. IF I ever get my order.

15 weeks and not only will they NOT split my order for free (even though I'm getting a bunch of titles), they still can't give me an ETA. This has now turned into awesome!

I had much better luck with e-mail than I did with phone calls. They even waived the additional shipping without any hassle, which they steadfastly refused to do when I talked to them on the phone.

15 weeks, you sure? I thought the promotion didn't start until April 22? I sent mine in 4/23 and still waiting on two titles. They eventually did split my order but it was a hassle. Bad blood for no reason.

Good luck to you though. Still waiting on Matrix 10th and Casablanca UE here.
