Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Got my Matix and Casablanca today, the last of my order.

Casablanca is the single disc. (and no inserts)

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

My order arrived today, three months or so after I placed it. Casablanca was there as promised but as others have reported, the single disk without any shrink wrap or insert. Alas. Very anticlimactic.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Never received a shipping notice, but today Casablanca arrived. Too bad it isn't the UE, but it was free.

Does anyone know if this originally came with an insert?

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

i got my matrix shipped - after calling to confirm. Found out that they shipped it to the wrong address and it was subsequently stolen off my front porch - again. 3rd time, which is why its not my shipping address anymore.

now i'm waiting to hear if they will send me a copy to where it belongs. I can't wait to get it and call this deal done. Though to their credit the 2nd order i placed (to get PE) went very smoothly.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Not only has red2blu charged me $7.37 for my FREE replacement base copy of Casablanca, I still have not heard one word on my supposedly FREE copy of Matrix 10th.

To top it all off, red2blu has decided to stop responding to my emails, well over a week now without any response.

I guess credit card dispute might be my next course of action. I might end up disputing all the red2blu charges as they haven't fulfilled their end of the bargain, not shipping all my titles, arbitrarily substituting one title for another, charging me for FREE copies, refusal to respond to emails, etc... I can only take so much.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I had been trying to get this whole Casablanca fiasco worked out over email because the freebie version is not acceptable to me(never mind that both customer service reps told me I would be receiving a TWO disc version). They finally quit responding to my emails and just shipped the order. Today, a week after they last returned an email, I got the order. I had been explaining that Casablanca is not "free" since I had to give them my HD-DVD cover art. In my package, some smartass stuck a rumpled and torn HD-DVD Casablanca cover art. To top it off, they charged me for the Ultimate Matrix Collection and only sent me the first Matrix movie. I called them about it and they say it'll take a week to get the Ultimate Matrix Collection. And they were totally unapologetic about Casablanca.

Red2blu seemed like a great deal at first but I've learned that you get what you pay for. This whole thing is a gigantic fiasco. I'll probably never buy a Warner movie again.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

My movies are due tomorrow! Although it has been a headache I applaud WB for at least giving people the option to trade in hd-dvds. Was the Casablanca situation handled correctly? Certainly there are arguments for either side, but sending out a free copy is a nice gesture. I'd rather get a free single disc version than wait another month or two for the CE. I wish Universal and Paramount would create some sort of program as well.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Just to clarify, they want the outer box for the Sopranos, and not the fold-out inner case, correct?

That's what I sent, and mine was accepted. It was a tough moment for me, though, to destroy it like that.

My order just shipped today...I only ordered sets after saying I wouldn't use red2blu - Matrix Ultimate, Planet Earth, Oceans Collection and both Sopranos seasons.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

My Casablanca arrived today. No shipping notice, but no charge to my credit card either. And they did return a rumpled HD DVD cover insert.

The cover isn't nearly as good as the poster art used for the HD DVD. It's just a black and white still from the movie of Bogart and Bergman.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Received my order yesterday. Guess I'll hook up the Sylvania BD player I picked up from an Amazon Deal of the day and take'm for a spin. These are my first BDs; I've got one more coming, Dragon Hunters, from DD. Then I think it'll be a BD dry spell for me 'til the prices more closely match my pocketbook.

You really just need to chop at Amazon and keep an eye on the DVD bargains area of the forum. There are plenty of good sales to be had. I just picked up Ghostbusters, 2001 and the two-disc collector's edition of Casino Royale for $30 total from Amazon.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Well, today I got Casablanca, a Matrix 10th in similar packaging(No DigiBook). Plus two folded and mangled HDDVD covers one of Casablanca and the other, of course, was The Matrix. I wonder if Warner is seeing a Doctor about that passive-aggressive behavior?

Clarification: When I received the email stating that I would not be getting the Casablanca I ordered, I sent back a less than happy response. At one point I said that "If you're not going to honor the deal at least have the courtesy of sending back my covers". Well, they did exactly that, stuffed the covers into the bubble-mailer, piled the discs on top and shipped it off.

Bubble-mailer - something else I complained about in the email.

Oh, well. F**k 'em.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

I decided I would only swap for "The Matrix" set ,- I was also going to do "Blade Runner" but the recent Amazon sale trumped the end price, -but I was a little reluctant based on all the problems I heard about on this board. I sent my cover in two weeks ago and today I recieved my "Matrix" set. I'm really surprised... pleased, of course, but very surprised.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Just got an email:

"We had hoped to send you the Harry Potter 1-5 Limited Edition Giftset. Unfortunately, we have run out of stock of this limited edition Blu-ray title and do not expect to receive more inventory."

They are going to send me the regular gift set and will take $5 off the price.

Couldn't they instead send you the 5 Harry Potter individual releases?

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Well it took a long time and I wound up with the Casablanca single disc but my discs finally came in (3 months or so) and overall, no complaints.

If these had been movies I didn't already have, or if I had to send the discs in, I may have been a little annoyed, but cool of them to do this just the same.

The big question now is if I save them or sell them.

That is what I was thinking as well. I don't really know what the different is between the limited gift set, regular gift set, and the individual releases.

Re: Warner launches "Red2Blu" trade-in program

Guess it doesn't matter now, as I received my shipment email last night. It was about a month after they received my cover art, so not as bad as a lot of people.

Since there is a limit of 25 titles and I only ordered 5 or 6 this time, I am assuming that I could place another order with the same address, correct?
