So all of the Hills extras are included, but Hellraiser is bare-bones? A little consistency would be nice. I'm not really interested in either one - I have the Hills DVD, and was never really into the Hellraiser films - but that doesn't bode well for future releases. The transfers look a bit better than previous Image releases of AB product, but certainly nothing to write home about.

The first two Hellraiser entries and Children of the Corn are confirmed to be bare bones and don't retain any of the Anchor Bay produced bonus material. It looks like Image is taking whatever HD master Lakeshore is providing with them with and releasing whatever. Lakeshore probably gives two shits about the New World library and looks at this as the last dollar they'll get from these titles.

Inferior transfers compared to past HD releases? Missing bonus materials? HD transfers that look like an upscaled DVD? Yeah, they're not getting a cent from me.

I already had Hellraiser, and I just bought the AB version of Children of the Corn while it's still available (a blind buy, but I figured I'd better get it now to be safe, I can sell it later if I don't like it). And I'm still holding on to my Hellraiser 2 DVD, I'm waiting to see how the transfer is, but regardless I'll still need it for the special features

When I saw the terrible reviews, I went out and bought the Children of the Corn/Hellraiser double feature for $8.

A poster over at AVManiacs said Hellraiser II doesn't look as good when compared to the HDTV broadcast.

I want to believe that the transfer is great, but the other 2 releases have been shit on so far.

It's OOP, so I'm going to guess no. I used to have a big-box VHS of that.

If you want to confirm the resolutions & (mostly lack of) bonus features, DVD Empire's uploaded the rear cover scans for most of these Image "Midnight Madness" Blu-rays:
http://www.dvdempire.com/exec/v1_lis...eries_id=38490

And the "Midnight Madness" DVDs: http://www.dvdempire.com/exec/v1_lis...eries_id=38491

It appears that The Hills Have Eyes is the only release to even port over bonus features.

Yeesh. The only reason I own CHUD is because of the hilarious audio commentary. Significantly more entertaining that the film itself, imo. And a bare-bones Dead Heat? These releases are making me nostalgiac for the days of DiviMax. I pray that Image doesn't get a hold of Dawn/Day of the Dead.

And case it hasn't been pointed out, some of these are even full-frame. (*Cough* House *Cough*).

As I've already pointed out on the doppelganger thread over on "DVD Talk", Image is making Lionsgate's reissues of former Anchor Bay titles mighty favorable by comparison.

I know Anchor Bay did an SE, but they control the copyright on all of the supplemental content and it would cost Image money to secure them.

The fact this title is even on Blu-ray is stunning.

I wonder if we'll see a second wave - Creepshow 2 was just released in Germany, though apparently it's severely edited.

Wow, I'd love to Creepshow 2 on BD. Unedited of course.

If you are interested in the film, I have heard good things about the R2/PAL French release of the film.

Considering how awful most of the previous releases were, I'd say good riddance.
