Not Classics, but related, the Little Mermaid sequels are also coming out on Nov. 19:

Why cant movie studios leave the original logos on older films? The trend kind of bugs me.

There is some pressure to present a unified marketing program to all customers, attempting to reinforce the current brand and trademarks.

Any time another person can see the new corporate symbol or logo, someone in marketing earns their wings.

It's always bugged me, but I have a feeling this is their thought on how we feel about it.

What edit?
I can't find anything on Google about it.

True, but I wish some of these studios would see that they are just as much identified as a part of these older films and take you back to that point in time when they were made.

Look at this video when Ariel is singing:

Warner is the worst about this. The opening of Mean Streets actually had audio playing over the old logo that's been cut out on the Blu-ray.

It's the silliest thing but I have avoided their BD of The Exorcist because of not offering the theatrical cut with the original logo and ending with the jump-cut.

yeah, that point at 3:04 is what I see mentioned over and over (her lips moving but no singing because they swapped frames). It's only awkward for a few seconds at least but it's not really a habit they should keep doing

Why did they swap frames like that?

They probably had to disassemble the shots in the scene during either the video clean-up or the 3D conversion, and then made an error when putting them back together.

Re: Walt Disney Animated Classics 2013 Blu-ray releases

Good news! If you'd like a replacement Blu-ray of The Little Mermaid, with the editing in Part of Your World and the dissolve to Scuttle restored you can call:

800-723-4763 (U.S.)
888-877-2843 (Canada)

She said to send only the Blu-ray disc in the mailer. I only got the 2 disc Blu-ray and DVD in DVD packaging version ($24.95, counting as a commitment, w00t (this is cool because the deal with DMC is that you normally have to buy 2 at $29.95 so this is like $5 off the total of my membership, so I got 9 Disney Blu-rays for $82.24 total rather than $89 total)), so I don't know and didn't think to ask if they were replacing 3D Blu-rays.

Well, that's good news. Just wish the opening logos weren't updated but I'm glad they're clearing up the mistakes.

Does that mean that all pressings will be corrected? I guess I'll wait to buy it.

I'm sure they'll probably correct it for future pressings, but given how big the initial print run was, I'm sure it'll be a crap shoot for quite a while.

Does anyone have a timestamp so I can verify my copy quickly?

Crap, I didn't realize that there were issues with The Little Mermaid. Wish I had waited to order.

I don't think corrected copies have even hit the channel yet, so if you bought yours, it's defective.

Just called Disney. They are replacing the 2D BD and the DVD. They are NOT replacing the 3D BD and have NO PLANS to do so in the future.

Just received my Little Mermaid replacement discs today. I will have to look at these later to see if they are actually corrected versions.

Is there any indication on the disc on whether or not they're corrected?

also, I just got the DVD/BR pack for $10 via black friday. How do I know which one I got?
