It could a piece of shit on the cover with the movie title and I'd still be happy with that as long as the BD was great.

Oh I get that. This the version we should have gotten in the first place. The cover isn't a deal breaker but it is still rather unfortunate.

Kind of like how Fox wasted the Collector's Edition DVD cover of Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World on a digibook reissue of the barebones BD.

Having to get the SE DVD for the extras and the BR for the movie in high def when the extras are in sad and could easily be squeezed onto the disc is annoying as hell.

Shit. I never got the SE DVD of M&C. By the time I wanted it BD hit and well...I've been waiting for it.

KoH I never got on BD. I did get the SE DVD though like in 2007. When the BD hit, I held off. Waiting finally paid off.

I assume it was planned double dipping. They figured they could sell just the movie in HD and again later with the features.

I'll plan on getting this sometime, might not be release day., and stick the actual bluray movie disc in with my 5 disc KOH DVD set that I bought years ago.

same with Man on Fire. the blu is pretty bare outside of 2 commentaries, the 2 disc collectors edition dvd has a doc, and a fuck ton of deleted/alternate scenes

Now then... we’ve got good news for Ridley Scott fans this afternoon... we’ve confirmed that the new Kingdom of Heaven: 10th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray will have all of the extras from both the previous theatrical edition and Extended Edition DVDs. Fox wasn’t especially clear about it in their press release, but we’ve confirmed directly with special edition producer Charles de Lauzirika that you should safely be able to ditch your DVD copies if you wish. Or you can keep that cool Extended Edition packaging and just swap out the discs, which is my plan.

It says 3 cuts. I'm assuming it's the director's cut that was on the prior release and the theatrical version, but what is the third one? Some sort of extended cut that is different than the director's cut?

It's a roadshow version, meaning it's the director's cut already released but with music before and after along with an intermission. But no changes in the cut.
