It's a french set, so you should be able to find it on the French version of amazon or the like. I don't recall how much I paid for mine...I think a little over $50.

All these sets are sweet. Is there just no market in Region 1 for these types of sets? I mean we all spend extra cash to own these, its a shame we can't get these type's of box sets in the U.S./Canada region. I would have really liked the Alien one and the i, Robot one but damn if I'm going to pay the $400+ price tag now. Had they been release here for $100 or so I would have considered it.

the main thing is that other regions especially asian markets need to offer something to the consumer to get them to buy the dvd. with the high amount of bootlegs in the stuff they need that extra thing to get sales. Also, americans are generally more impulsive and will buy the dvd on release day despite the fact its a barebone disc and a special edition will arrive within a few months

It's a shame they aren't released in the US. There are a few "nice" sets, such as the Freaks&Geeks yearbook, some tins, the Scarface LE, etc...but on a whole they simply don't compare to other region releases, which not only come in excellent packaging but often have a DTS track when the R1 version does not.

Not only that, but some other region releases have better video transfers, are not cut, etc. Personally I try to buy what appears to be the best release, regardless of the region.

I guess I'll just have to start doing that. It's a shame we don't ATLEAST get DTS on all R1 release's that get a DTS release in other regions. I guess it just shows how much "Dumbing" down companies can do and the average consumer doesn't care.

Well, maybe I'm "dumb", but I do care, and I actually prefer DD to dts. I used to like dts better, but ever since getting a 7.1 set up and a receiver with Pro Logic IIx, DD5.1 sounds better. I still prefer dts on my living room set-up which is just 5.1 and an older receiver, but in my home theater, the combination of DD5.1 and Pro Logic IIx kicks major ass.

I would like to get better packaging here in the States though. I also sometimes don't know which region is the best transfer, etc. dvdbeaver doesn't always have the title I'm looking for compared.

Region 2. Aviator and Leon are both German releases. These are no real tins, but steelbooks (like the coming US release of Appleseed).

Same here.... Also, I'm a sucker for Limited Editions. Believe it or not, I've never lost money when coming to these sets... always gotten more for them since demand for them almost always exceeds supplies. Call it an investment if you'd like

Can't speak for Shaolin Soccer, but the Kill Bill Vol. 1 box comes with a T-shirt that is a Japanese large, which equates to an American small. Vol. 2 comes with a Japanese medium, which is basically child size.

I would love an expansive Braveheart set. You would think at $12,000, they could at least have had a better replica of Wallace's sword. That looks like something out of the Highlander flicks.

hadn't really thought of the shirt size issue... I'm an XL or an L - wouldn't work. heh.

R3 Taiwan DTS Neon Genesis Evangelion Collector case (holds vol. 1-3):

There's also a blue case for vol. 4-6 and a white case for vol. 7 and the 2 movies.

I'm curious how the Evangelion and the DTS Ghost in the Shell:SAC sets look compared to the R1s.

Just emptying some old image folders and found:

and:

A few there I don't recall.

I'm always disappointed the US and UK are so far behind when it comes to giving collectors something special.
