Since I signed up on the US site the other day, got me a $4.00 and a $1.50. Now I can get the Leon Steelbook for a great price!

Man was I ticked off with the referee for blowing the call on what should have been the 2nd goal for France, I had picked France over Korea 2-1. Or at least I thought I did.....when I checked my account a couple of hours later I saw green by the result which means an exact prediction and a $4 winner. I then recalled that I had changed my prediction late yesterday from France 2, Korea 1 to a 1-1 tie....so I'm happy.
I've got a strange thing going on, I'd say about 85% of the time, I find my rooting interest to be the opposite of my betting interest......good way to find some joy in either result.
Setting aside the CD-WOW promotion, this World Cup (though the refs should ease off the yellow cards) is great viewing......listening to the Korean fans today will their team to a tie, positively deafening...they should get some sort of award; watching the pre-match broadcast of the singing of the Mexican national anthem has me wanting to stand, level my arm across my chest, and join in; Ghana's stunner yesterday (even though I bet the Czechs I was rooting Ghana); Poland's heartbreaking loss to Germany....trust me, as a Red Sox fan I well know how they must have felt; or Argentina's first half vivisection the other day of Serbia & Montenegro (especially their second goal)....if you haven't watched Argentina play they are wondrous and the best (coming from someone who knows nothing about soccer) I've seen in this tournament by far....I'm betting Argentina all the way through the championship.

I placed 2 simultaneous orders on Wednesday night for Peep Show series 1 and 2 with the discount link. I wanted to see if I could use my coupons for maximum benefit. It brought the price down from $9.95 to $7.45 each. I received confirmation that they had both shipped this morning.

Yeah, that's a little weird, but you know CDWOW, they'll do right by you, one way or the other.
Is it worth picking up A Fistfull of Dollars, etc... right now? I'd love to own those DVDs, but surely they'll be released to R1 any time now.
What is the Masters Of Cinema series all about? Is it something along the lines of a Criterion Collection for R2?

Also, let's get some more great recommendations going in here!

The "Warehouse" option isn't looking as great as it used to. The prices keep going up. As an example, a title like "Tzameti" that I picked up at $24.15 just a short time ago then went to $25.35, then to $25.98, and now has been increased to $26.19. It's okay for now since I've got some $4 World Cup vouchers but after those are gone it will be less appealing. I mean it is still a very helpful service, especially if you want just one title, but it is getting to the point where the price is just a little below going with a place like bensonsworld. CD-WOW is outstanding but this trend of continually increasing the "Warehouse" prices might eventually cause me to turn some of my business elsewhere.

agreed. the warehouse is definately on the way up. but for us that are stuck with the pounds it might be the only option as the prices are the same for the warehouse for all sites. Its funny you mention tzameti since is one of the titles I will eventually pick up. CD-WOW has major issues in my book. One being that unless you know the title is practically pointless to go to them. I've mention this before but even when you do a search only a fraction of the titles show up or when you go to a section. just look at the shaw brother titles. Basically they make it impossible to browse. Just put everything you got up there. If you can order it through the warehouse and listed on your site through that function, you might as well thow it up there and have it be discounted. I'm still peeved about not being able to use the vouchers on the US site.

Hmm...I'm a little confused now about the voucher giveaway. Here's what it states on their site:
"The correct scores from the World Cup will be listed when available after the game has been played. It is taken from the final score at the end of full or extra time (where applicable). It does not include penalty kicks as goals in the result, where a penalty shootout has taken place."
I suppose I misinterpreted it but I read it that scoring in the two 15-minute overtime periods (which have now come into play) would be considered as part of your prediction. Personally I read their wording of "extra time" to mean "overtime", by "extra time" did they only mean that couple of minutes of "stoppage/injury time" that is added on at the end of a half. I picked Argentina to beat Mexico (which is what happened, but in overtime (and not requiring the final penalty shootout)). So I should be a winner for my pick, but I checked my status and it is showing "red" which is a loser pick with their official final result as only a 1-1 tie (which was the score at the end of regulation time). Anyone else find that a bit curious?

I wonder what is going on with the World Cup promotion....there are two more games tomorrow but I only saw an option to select a score for the first one (Italy/Australia), the second game (Switzerland/Ukraine) wasn't even listed. Just a glitch or have they pulled the plug on the remainder of the promotion. I guess we find out tomorrow.
