As for the landlord's daughter, I thought that was just to show Peter that people do care about him. It's a down point in his life and a little niceness (especially from a good-looking girl) is appreciated during those times. And it also I thought showed him that MJ ain't the only woman in the world. Sometimes when you are totally obsessed with a person, you tend to miss that there are other options out there.

Just got back from seeing the film.
I am going to have to agree with the poster who mentioned the screaming women thing. I thought it was really distracting and completely unnecessary. It just felt really corny everytime it happened.
I did like the operating room scene, though. And the homage to Army of Darkness (the chainsaw) was great. Although, that scene definitely had a horror movie feel to it, and it did seem a little out of palce.
Pretty good film, but I don't think it is the "greatest superhero film ever" like the critics are saying.

What description are they going to sell? Young with brown hair? There isn't much they could sell in my opinion. And even if they do, so what? Like others have said, who could pick him out from the millions of people walking down the street in New York? You go to Empire State or wherever he goes to school and they'd probably see a dozen people they would think is Spidey's real identity.

Yeah, but the cake scene really had nothing to do with the story. I could see if it went somewhere, but she basically took his dish, ... end of scene.

I see your point. I guess I just blamed it on Peter's "Missing a HUGE opportunity"..... Nothing else needed to be said.

So far it is...
I think this movie finally did something everyone's been bitching about for the last 10 to 15 years or at least since CGI became common place....IT RELIED ON A STRONG OR AT LEAST A VERY VERY STRONG CHARACTER DRIVEN STORY and the SFX were secondary......
IMHO of course

Anyway, there's no point in overanalyzing it. But the point is that you just don't see comic book characters let their identities be revealed that easily. Unless of course, you're Batman and you tell every chick that you screw in the movies

Well the one thing that is a nightmare to any criminal artist is various witnesses. Infact that will kill any possible chance of getting an accurate discription on the suspect. This is a fact. the more people you have that have seen him, the more different takes they will have on the said person. It's safe to assume parkers identity is safe. Besides, who the hell knows how a certain photographer for a picture looks like? You really don't since they are behind the camera.
Another person mentioned it and I agree. You have his identity a secret through years and years of comics. you sum it down to a film where the villian dies then it's not that big of a deal.

But like i said, its just a small annoyance that i have, just like others dislike the operation scene or Peter/MJ's relationship. Still a great movie

The reason I was laughin' was that she was so dam skinny and imho ugly. I thought that that's why others were laughin' too but I guess maybe it was just me.

Seriously though, Harry pretty much used his dad's costume in the comics, and I see no reason for him to change it. I would love to see a more bad a$$ glider though.
As others have said, I don't think that Harry's GG should be the only villain of III. Peter sees Harry as a friend (or did), and Connors as a mentor. Having both of them gunning for you would make his problems that much greater and complex.
In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if III more or less winds up being MJ's story. IT seemed to set that up in the last frame of film.

My hope is that they can keep the entire costume (flaws and all) as long as they change the mask. More than anything, I hated the fact that you couldn't see a mouth moving when GG talked. I thought the scene in SM 1 where both GG and Spiderman were on the roof was horrible and reminded me of a Kung Fu film with dubbed line due to the fact that you couldn't see either of their mouths moving.

stop getting your facts wrong. it's not a random kid on the street, it's the neighbor's kid who is helping aunt may. there is a difference. Your neighbors are told of your popularity by old ladies just like aunt may. You think the chick isn't going to call the whole area and brag about peter and his success of taking spidey's pictures? So most likely everyone on that block knows peter as the kid who takes those award winning spidey pictures but the average joe on the street and the average kid wont know who the hell peter is or the fact that he takes pictures for some news paper.
either way, too many witnesses and some level of respect for saving their asses from death will silence them.
